Chapter 35: The Misty Night
"You there! You look good, come accompany me through the night" a drunk man said as he walks approaching a good looking girl with brown hair.
"No! Get away from me" Retorted the girl as she runs away.
"You can't escape me HAHA," said the drunk man, The drunk man is a knight rank fighter even though he is drunk his speed cannot be underestimated but because of the drowsiness, the drunk man stumbles to everything on his path.
The girl desperately run with all her might, She looks in front of her and saw two guys wearing a dark grey armored which was different than the regular Lovlarix.
"Please save me!"
The two guys were none other than Zed and Vical, They both glance at her nonchalantly.
Zed stops and looks at the running girl with a troubled expression while Vical just ignored her cries with a calm expression waiting for Zed.
The girl begged on Zed's knees to save her, "Please sir, Help me this once please!".
Zed looks at her with a troubled face, He shook his legs to make the girl let go of his legs and ignored her.
"SIR PLEASE!" the girl screamed desperately trying to change Zed's mind.
Zed didn't even budge and walk faster to ignore the girl.
"Yo Zed, Why put on that expression? Do you want to save the girl?" asked Vical after seeing Zed's troubled face.
"I tried to get rid of my habit by poking my nose on a girl's business, I wanted to save her but doing that will bring me no good so I tried to ignore it" replied Zed with determination, 'Well I'm weak to a girl, so I have to get rid of my weakness and get used to ignoring them although they're beautiful' Zed thought.
"Ho, The Zed Lenvers who is more manly than the manliest man is weak to a girl? What a surprise" said Vical jokingly.
Zed just replied with a snort, this act makes Vical laughs. Vical has a charming look with his long brown hair, his eyes are dark brown with a muscular build, and he is an outgoing guy.
They walk around the city searching for a place to eat and prepare their mentalities for the war, this is their first war so they have to prepare as much as they can because war is not just killing people but have more depth into it. It can even affect their mentalities for the rest of their life.
The city's citizen is having a heavy time because of the war, The war will make their heart waver because if the Lovlarix lose they will be in grave danger.
Meanwhile, inside the barrack meeting room, the captains are worried as their remaining scouts didn't come back from their scouting in the Bronze Rift Mountain.
This night the valley has a mist surrounding it, the scouts of Lovlarix don't have the equipment to deal with the dark misty night, They are worried if the Bronze Rift Mountain is indeed been set up a trap by the Khapex. The captains were forced to ask the elites of the Lovlarix that has a special ability to investigate Bronze Rift Mountain.
Zed was asked if he has a special ability to deal with the dark misty night by reporting soldiers sent by the captains, "Although the captain asked this you don't have to accept it even though you have the power to do it" said the soldier.
'I have the draugar bloodline that didn't only increase my perception but also give me a night vision' Zed thought, After thinking carefully Zed accepted the mission.
Vical looks at Zed accepting a mission without talking to him is pissed, "I will come too, Do you think I cannot help you?" Vical snorted to Zed. As someone who has werewolf bloodline, their sense is sensitive to danger and their eyes can see the black night as well as during the day, in fact maybe better.
Zed only laughs lightly with a wry smile hearing what Vical's said.
Just as the soldier want to report to the captains a modulated voice was heard, "I will come too".
Zed and Vical glanced to where the voice coming from and saw Owin, He has black short hair with, shorter than Vical, and he is thin making Zed looks way bigger than him if they seat side to side.
The soldier immediately bows his head and left intending to report the acceptance of the mission to the captains.
"Okay our team first mission has arrived, Let's do this!" said Vical as he punches to the air making the surrounding people look at him in confusion.
Zed and Owin can only look at each other with an embarrassed expression and slapped Vical on his head.
The captains just got the report and fell into a dilemma, The three people who are accepting this dangerous mission are the three most valuable people that the Lovlarix has. After a round of thinking, they finally let them go but Zed''s team has to carry a level five Enlivening Pill and one time hardened equipment Transport Crystal which is both a valuable item.
The night is cold and misty making it the perfect night to dwell in the darkness, Three people come out of the Jestin City in an all-black outfit these people are of course Zed's team.
Bronze Rift Mountain is northwest of Jestin City just beside the Dierge Caldera Valley, To get there they have to pass the Nothingness. Nothingness is an open place that is desolated that as the name says has nothing on it making anyone who passes it exposed to any attack.
Zed, Vical, and Owin are hiding behind a rock before they pass the Nothingness.
"We need to run pass the nothingness but it is impossible to achieve under one minute because it is at least five kilometers before we get to the Bronze Rift Mountain," explained Owin after seeing the place.
"No Problem I can sense danger if I transform into a werewolf," said Vical pridefully.
"I can transform into a spirit because of my bloodline, making me invisible in plain sight," said Owin with a flat voice.
Zed thinks for a while, 'Everyone is open about their bloodline so maybe he can tell one of his bloodlines and left the other one as a trump card' he thought.
"I can transform into a small beast to hide my presence," said Zed after deciding that his doppelganger bloodline will be helpful in this mission and the war.
After telling each other their bloodline and open up themselves they embark on the journey to the Bronze Rift Mountain.
Vical turned into a tall creature, Black furs grow all over his body, His eyes turned red, and a black aura surrounding him making Vical look menacing. Owin's body turns into a green smoke little by little until completely become a green smoke.
Zed didn't want to lose out, His body makes a cracking sound as he grows smaller and smaller until he becomes a harmless rat. Zed also activates his Draugar bloodline to make his perception higher.
After activating Draugar bloodline he saw the mist turn into a blue mist making Zed feel weirded out, Something is telling Zed that the mist is not just a mist. Vical senses it too because of his high perception of danger.
After transforming, they quickly dash to pass the Nothingness.
They get out of their hiding spot and run as fast as they can while Owin flies leisurely with a chuckle looking at Zed and Vical who dash with all their might.
The misty night brings a relaxing vibe towards the surrounding, The night is the perfect night to play around. The night vibe hides the black snake fang, there's a saying that the relaxing the night is the bigger disaster that will come. The trio falls to the relaxing vibes.
They forgot that they are in a war where anything can happen until suddenly.
Swish!
A sword beam flash to Zed's team from the end of the Nothingness, Their playful vibes turn intense immediately because of the sword beam stabs Vical. The sword ray penetrates through under Vical's collarbone, The momentum brought by the sword beam pushed Vical until he hits the nearby rock and stuck there.
Owin and Zed were shocked and turned serious immediately, From the end of the Nothingness two guys and two girls emerge, they wear dark blue armor and the guy in the middle has a cape and seven stars on his chest.
"Oh what a coincidence, An Elite of Lovlarix comes here by themselves and a rookie at it. Looks like this night will be an interesting night" said the man in the middle with a savage expression.
