Chapter 60: Asura Power
The mighty prowess of a ninth level Sky Lord aura swirled in the wind like a raging tornado. Sickly green energy clouded the sky, turning the rural plains into a poisonous site.
The man's frightening pure white eyes bore into the youths' cautious eyes as if he was trying to peek into their souls.
Though the cousins didn't feel majorly suppressed by this new prowess, they did know it was now or never.
Acidic rain began to pick up in intensity causing more strain to Andrea, while the man cruelly smirked.
'I think it's time to unleash the asura power. Your body now should be strong enough for attacking with it.' Spooky had told him, and Luke readily agreed. This would be his and Andrea's only other edge over this man.
When Spooky had informed Luke, the man gained a vicious glint in his eye and blasted off to the youths!
With speeds the split the air apart, he would only need a few seconds to reach them. However, a few seconds were all the cousins needed.
Andrea was a step ahead of Luke, and instantaneously, black powerful asura gases spewed out of her body! Inside the barrier, the girls felt a terrifying power wash over them as they stared at Andrea in awe.
It wasn't their first time seeing asura power, but putting it in use was a whole different experience.
'Chi!'
Asura black gases shot off from both of Andrea's hands!
The gases blitz towards the sickly green sky and effortlessly tore apart the man Martial Skill! From a puke green color to a dark, dreary black color, the rural plains underwent a significant change.
"So...they can even do that! Let's see what else you have!" Despite destroying his skill and causing the rain to stop, the man didn't halt his rush at all.
"Qingyue!" Luke shouted to her, and she instantly flashed to his side. Lingxi had smoothly fallen back as Qingyue took her place.
And taking her hand, Qingyue suddenly felt a far more immense and terrifying power wash over her. Black asura gases crazily spewed out from them, causing the rural plains to darken even more.
However, because Qingyue was already calm and held significant trust in Luke, their soul link had swiftly activated!
When the man was a mere meter away from them, a blue blackish ice lotus formed on Luke's burnt hand. Creating this attack so quickly with asura gases caused both of them to feel drained, but they were satisfied.
"Hm? The law of ice! But something different…" The man, crazed descent, had suddenly taken a nosedive. Instantly when the blue blackish ice lotus appeared, a penetrating, freezing cold tore into his body.
Not even in his crazed transformation could he simply ignore this cold. It forced him to slow down and gather up his Essence energy just to combat it.
"Like we'll just let you!" Luke roared out and held out his lotus palm to the man.
'Hua!'
Faster than a bullet, the blue blackish ice lotus shot straight towards the struggling man!
From struggling with fending off this hell freezing cold, the man performed a tough decision. Watching the ice lotus blitz towards him, he savagely grabbed one his massive blood-red claws and,
'Chi!'
Ruthlessly tore off one of his own nail-like claws! Blood poured like a fountain from where his claw used to be, yet he paid no attention to it.
Contrary to what Luke's group thought, instead of hurling the claw towards his ice louts, he precisely aimed the claw and shot it directly at them!
Amazingly enough as well, his claw had smoothly bypassed Luke and Qingyue lotus, intending to trade a long-distance blow with them. The nail left a trail of sickly blood in its wake, dying the air red.
With only a second to react, Luke and Andrea spewed out their potent black asura gases around the whole eagle.
Though they barely had formed the asura gas barrier when blood-red pierced into their visions.
All the while for the man, he had only a split second to hastily put a green shield as the ice lotus arrived right next to him.
In sync, both attacks clashed and,
'BOOOM!!!'
Luke's group got sent a few meters back by an intense red explosion! Luke and Andrea's arms stung from blocking the blast while the girls felt their heads rock from the aftershocks.
Although other than that, they were relatively unharmed.
However, for the man, Luke was the first to notice a six feet, asura ice crater in the rural plains. From miles around the hole, spiderweb-like cracks filled the ground by the fierce attack of Luke and Qingyue.
Specifically, inside the crater was the bloody image body of the monster man. A mass amount of blood spilled out of him from his pores, and his right arm looked mangled.
Tremendous pain wracked through his bodies as the man felt numerous of his organs punctured, and many bones cracked into pieces.
And the single most surprising thing for Luke was how the man still held some damn life in him! He was as tenacious as a cockroach at this point. But obviously his earlier might have massively gone down.
Indeed while Luke sensed he only had it in him for one more soul Spirit attack. The might of asura power more than made up for its limited uses.
If they were to fight regularly, then surely it wouldn't have been anywhere as easy as this.
"Heh, so it is true. Might as well see what else they can do." Despite not feeling half his body because of the freezing cold, the man managed to clench his left fist, causing enormous power to run through his body!
Immediately Luke and Andrea felt a threatening force form in the sky, and it was then they heard,
'Zzzt!!'
The blaring drums of intense thunder! Looking above them, while the green looking lightning couldn't split open the asura gases in the sky. The power was still clearly there to threaten them.
"For the part before the finale, Acidic Thunder!!"
As the man roared out from the ground, Luke and Andrea made prompt decisions.
Swift like the wind, Luke recalled his eagle beast and grabbed the whole of Qingyue and Cang Yue's waist. In sync, Andrea grabbed Lingxi as they were left without a bird in the sky.
Suddenly though, the cousins felt their instincts roar to them, and their bodies moved on their own!
'Chi!'
A thunderous flash of green lightning struck down from were both cousins last appeared! Just by a hair, they barely avoided the swift strike of lightning.
The green lightning crashed into the ground, dissolving miles under the terrain.
Luke glared down at the man while barely keeping themselves afloat with his soul Spirit Power. With fierce killing intent as he spoke, "Yue! Get ready!"
Seamlessly, Cang Yue felt their soul link ignite! Compared to the other girls, she and Luke have the most experience with this. This is why in a mere second, a purplish-black Phoenix arrow was willed into the air!
"Asura Phoenix!"
Both Luke and Cang Yue shouted in sync, causing the purplish-black Phoenix arrow to lock on to the man.
'Hua!'
Their combined attack blasted towards the man with speed far higher than any of their past attacks!
Helplessly, all the man saw was a flash mix of purple, black, and orange. And in the next split second,
'Sssch!!'
The man was overloaded with intense fire that pierced directly into his chest, painfully burning the inside of his body.
"Seriously, what the hell was that?!" Andrea had to comment as she landed on the ground with Lingxi.
Now the sky had cleared up, the sickly green energy along with the asura gases had disappeared.
"Why don't we just ask the man himself," Luke said, landing on the ground with Qingyue and Cang Yue.
"No way, he's still alive?!" Lingxi was absolutely gobsmacked if somehow this man can survive fire raging around inside his body! This kind of freakish vitality is a cheat among cheats!
Looking over to the fried man, Qingyue shrugged her shoulders, saying, "Barely alive. More like he's clinging on to his life."
"Heh, eventually, you'll find out where I came from. Just count yourself special for managing to kill me...though you have one last hurdle…" From the crater, the man said his last piece before something completely unexpected happened.
Instead of just regularly dying, the man had entirely dissolved into sickly green energy!
'Sssch!'
This acid-like energy had melted into the ground, drilling deep into the rural plains.
A brief moment of silence came over the plains.
Just now, somehow, a strange man who could transform suddenly found them and wanted to kill them for no reason they understood. And presently, he just died by turning into seemingly acid?
Nothing about this situation made any sense at all! Although when Cang Yue had looked over to the crater, she noticed a strange black item hovering over the holes, the green energy made.
"That black thing...it looks like a mask?" Once she pointed it out, Andrea walked up the crater though her face looked preoccupied.
It was similar to Luke's face as he couldn't put together on why anyone would want them dead or alive. From his knowledge, not even the highest level figures from all three novels could know about them.
'Relax, there's no need to be overly worried about him anymore. We can't really tell where he comes from, but I can tell killing him did, us good. Under these plains, there's some sort of...tomb? If it was before then you would have no way to get to this place with your current prowess. But now, that man basically cleared the way for you.'
Spooky called out to Luke, who couldn't help but agree. He could only pin this event on that God's works, but even then, there was nothing he could go off on.
'Well, how do we get inside, and what's in this tomb?'
'By the use of our Spirit Power, can we get inside. And in there, there's a lot of stuff for us to get more powerful. Though there are some troubling things down there. Firstly though, you need to get some special items to perform a procedure on those girls.'
Luke nodded his head initially feeling excited, but then puzzled, saying, 'What do you mean procedure? Are the girls injured?'
'It's nothing really. Inside all of your bodies are some small patch of acidic gasses, but it's nothing your bodies can't handle. At most, you'll just feel like it's a common cold or something. But, when I talked about performing a procedure, I mean convincing them that using your Spirit Power can those items cure the gases through the use of mouth to mouth.'
Luke faltered a bit when hearing her reasoning. He can basically hear Spooky's mischievous smile.
'Do you really want me to over bloat the truth just so I can get a chance to truly kiss Yue? Actually...saying it out loud doesn't seem like that much of a bad idea at all…'
"Eh? It really is just a mask! Ah! This has to be what the man used to come in that disguise and changed his aura." On the outside, Luke's attention was caught by Lingxi's exclamation.
Looking over to them, Andrea had, after cleansing the mask with her soul power, put it on. At first, the black mask had just latched onto her face, but she then felt something in her aura change.
Her usually cold, standoffish presence changed into something more approachable and friendly. It was entirely different to the point you wouldn't even recognize that she had a cold presence.
And once taking the mask off, that friendly aura went away.
"It seems like we got a pretty useful item. But for now, I'm sure you also sense it, Andy?" Luke had walked past the girls and stared down the bottomless pit the transformed man had made.
Putting the mask in Lingxi's hand, Andrea had joined Luke's side to stare down the pit, nodding her head, saying, "Whatever you can sense, I can also sense. Though who would've guessed we would catch another lucky break so soon."
"And just what are you two keeping from us?" Cang Yue questioned them as she and the other girls were confused about what could be inside the ground.
"Well it's-"
"Eh? Ah! Is that really Senior Sister Cang Yue?!" Abruptly from a few meters away, the voice of an elegant youth called out to them.
Turning to their backside, three handsome young men appeared who all had slight shock looks on their faces.
Cang Yue, however, felt a bit sour seeing them and said, "Ouyang Dihua? What are you doing all the way out here?"
