Chapter 29: Momoiro island

After her injuries had healed, Akane and the others followed the log pose towards the next island. It was unknown what kind of island it would be, but the adventurous spirit was only hightened by the quest for the unknown.

While Ban was fishing and Laffitte read, Akane spent her time meditating and talking to her Zanpakuto spirits. She intended to be closer to them to learn more about her swords.

Tsukuyomi appreared cold, not showing much emotion. In contrast, Amaterasu showed a lot, hugging her whenever the chance appeared. In the time they were conversing, Akane was mostly talking about herself and the journey. The Zanpakuto had experienced it as well, but they were interested by things they hadn't noticed, while Akane had been interested in things they had noticed.

Like that she would spend hours talking to her swords and getting to know them. Amaterasu's power was apparently to burn whatever it wanted to burn. The attack ranged for as far as Akane could see and was also limited to what she could sense. An example, It was impossible to attack someone with a space devil fruit who hid in said space. Akane can't sense the space, so it would be impossible to attack.

If she could sense it, it wouldn't even take any effort to completely burn that space to ashes. So far, that was the Shikai abillity. She didn't have a clue as to what the Bank could be. Amaterasu smiled while hugging and petting Akane as the latter pondered over how she could best apply these powers in her attacks.

Tsukuyomi's powers however were mostly still clad in mystery. Whenever he tried to explain it, it sounded like she was submerged in water, the spoken words completely inaudible. Akane wasn't hindered by that, as she continued asking questions to figure out how his powers worked, though she had an inkling that it worked a little similar to Amaterasu's powers.

Tsukuyomi's blade seemed to suck in everything it wanted to, making it completely disappear. The only difference Akane could see as of now, was that Amaterasu burned things to ashes, while Tsukuyomi made them disappear.

Whenever she asked him to acertain something, Tsukuyomi would just stare at her. Just from that she knew she had to be wrong and she would start it all over again. When that happened, Tsukuyomi would accompany her, trying to explain it over an over, a gently look in his eyes when she asked him questions again.

"Ah, I don't think I will figure it out today. I'll see you guys tomorrow again. The island should be in sight any moment now and I really need to see what it looks like."

Tsukuyomi just nodded, while Amaterasu grabbed her in another on of her breathtaking hugs. It was literaly breathtaking as Akane's head was burried in her breasts, making it nearly impossible to breathe.

"Just make sure to come back tomorrow, we'll be lonely when you're outside~" Amaterasu stroked Akane's head, not noticing she was choking her.

"She's chocking, Amaterasu." Tsukuyomi said as he pointed towards Akane who was tapping against Amaterasu's leg in the hopes she would let go.

"Ara, Sorry about that." Amaterasu released Akane, sticking her tongue out in a joking manner.

"Ha..ha..ha. Thanks Tsukuyomi. See you tomorrow guys."

Akane waved as her figure vanished from her minds cape, leaving the Zanpakuto to do what the liked.

Once she broke the meditation, Akane returned her Zanpakuto back into her body and looked out at sea. In the distance she could see the faint silhouette of an island.

The ship moved forward at a fast pace and the appearance of the island was finally visible. Once Akane saw it, her eyebrows couldn't stop twitching as her mouth had an uncomfortable smile.

"You've got to be kidding me."

In front of her, Akane saw an island she'd only heard stories of from the revolutionaries. Especially Iva liked to talk about it, as it was her home.

"Ehhh, what's wrong little fox?~" Ban waved his hand in front of Akane's face, finding the current look on her face fascinating.

"Ah, I'm okay, though I'm not sure you an Laffitte will be fine once we moor there, ahahaha..."

Akane laughed out loud in a strained manner, already imagining what would happen when they did moor there. She'd heard the stories of the revolutionaries. The men who'd been there would talk about it with a pale face and a terrified expression, as if it was a scene they would rather forget.

"Well, let's see how you handle it. I hope you've a lot of stamina or good stealth skills, cause you're going to need it."

Laffitte for once looked up from his book to look at the island Akane had talked about. A shiver ran down his spine as if he could already imagine it.

"I'll leave collecting supplies to you. I will guard the ship."

Laffitte said as he tried to rub away the goosebumps.

"That's for the best, though I would really like to see how strong you are. This should be a good place to find out."

Akane smiled, while Laffitte retreated back inside, not intending to taking part in what would happen next.

"I guess it's just us then. Be prepared, Ban. What you're about to see is a hell for men. Don't let them turn you cause there is no going back once you do."

Akane said, cautioning Ban in a joking yet serious tone.

"Well, now I really want to see what this island is like~"

Ban stared at the pink heart shaped island with a burning intrigue and curiosity.

If it was something that could let the little fox fear for him, then he needed to see what this 'danger' might be. Heck, how could it be a danger? If it wasn't life threatening, he was sure he could handle it.

_____________________________________________________________________________

When Ban thought back to this day, he was glad the little fox had reminded him and he really wanted to kick himself for not taking the 'dangers' hidden in this place seriously. Whenever he was reminded about this, his face would pale and only a strained laughter would be the reply.

He was completely in agreement with the other men that had left this place. It was better to forget it ever happened and burn it from the memory.
