Chapter 173: Washing It All Away

When I reach the deepest part, I take a deep breath and go under. I enjoy the way the warm water washes away all the dried blood and chases away all the dark thoughts. Having my head underwater, I can no longer hear anything other than my own heartbeat. 

My heartbeat and the blood that flows through me. The rest of the world falls and fades away. I feel myself relaxing as I run my hands through my hair. I slowly come to the surface, pushing my hair back as I open my eyes. 

The sun was almost completely gone... I look to the water and realize it's no longer a milky blue. It's blood-red... When I hear someone behind me, I turn and find Thane watching me from the entrance. His eyes drink in my exposed back and the way my long dark hair covers most of it.
