Chapter 10 – Dodo Is Amazing
The artificial eagle soul seeped through Kyle's body and he felt warm air enveloping his whole body. It felt comfortable. The feeling was similar to when the day was cold and the warm sunlight hit the body. Kyle did not want the feeling to disappear.
While Kyle was having a good time with the warm feeling, he suddenly felt like something was forming inside him. The thing that formed was not something physical but spiritual. Kyle felt like the thing was full of energy and he felt energized as time went on.
Kyle's body lightly shone and suddenly, Kyle felt like he was falling. He was shocked and immediately opened his eyes. Once he opened his eyes, he was shocked. In front of him was the artificial eagle soul floating in an empty black space.
"What happens?" Kyle panicked and he looked around but found out that everything was dark. He could not see anything. The only source of light in that dark, empty space was the artificial eagle soul. A thought came to mind that he did not teleport somewhere else but was brought to his consciousness.
A book he read said that once a human absorbed a soul, the soul would form a special space inside the body called the mana space. In the mana space would be where the soul resides. The mana space would also be a place where humans could store mana for their personal use.
[You guess right. This is your mana space] said Dodo and Kyle was amazed by the view he saw. He was not amazed by the mana space but by the huge endless dark empty space. It was different from the real space because it was seriously empty.
[Even so, you can see yourself how small your mana space is because the artificial eagle soul is not perfect] said Dodo, and Kyle nodded. [Luckily, you are 100% compatible with the soul or else you will get a lot of backlash to your body]
"So, what should I do now? Has the dojo system activated?" Kyle asked. He did not mind the artificial eagle soul much because they had planned earlier that they would replace it later with the natural soul. Even so, he knew how bad the artificial soul was.
His mana space was seriously small. It had a diameter of about one meter. "I wonder how many skills I can construct with this small space?" thought Kyle. He knew the basics of magician would be constructing the magic skill inside the mana space. The size of the mana space determined the amount and strength of the skills the magician could learn.
[The dojo system has been activated successfully without any problem. The dojo is now undergoing the changes I talked about before. We will get to see the power of the dojo system in a few hours once the building finishes turning into a dojo] said Dodo.
[As to what you should do now? Just come out of the mana space and we need to discuss the skills that you will need to hunt monsters] said Dodo. Kyle however was a bit listless with what Dodo meant by hunting monsters.
[I know what you are thinking. I will explain everything once you get out] said Dodo and Kyle glanced at the artificial eagle soul and thought to his mind that he wanted to get out and suddenly, the space converged in and he saw the shop familiar… not familiar appearance.
[I am remodeling the building] said Dodo. Kyle was pointing his finger at what he saw in front of him but Dodo had answered his question before he could even ask. What he saw would make everyone shocked. Kyle was not because he knew that that might be the changes Dodo was talking about.
Kyle thought that the changes would be changing the furniture or something similar but he saw that everything was broken even the walls but besides the walls was a black dark space similar to the space he went to earlier. He knew it was still morning, so it should not be that dark.
"What is that space?" Kyle asked while pointing at the dark black space.
[That is the endless space I create with the system power so that the dojo can expand without much problem] said Dodo and he continued, [You don't know how much I spend the energy to make that because I do not use the normal space mana but using the space laws]
[Due to that, I cannot create many things and decides to use the leftover energy to create the most important and basic things for the dojo] said Dodo and Kyle understood because Dodo mentioned before that creating the space would use massive energy.
Dodo did not stop there and continued, [You can say that this space is like another universe but it is secluded and cannot be entered by anyone else. The only path connecting this universe with your universe is our dojo's door] Kyle's eyes were wide opened.
"For real? You make a freaking new universe?? You are capable of that???" Kyle was extremely shocked. Creating a universe was not a small matter. He had never once heard that someone created a universe. All the big news was about someone destroying planets or creating a planet. None was about creating a universe.
[Well, the law of multiverse gives me the chance to use the law power to create things as a gift for activating the dojo system and I decide to use them all for the sake of our dojo] said Dodo and Kyle was still shocked. Kyle took a deep breath to calm himself.
"So, this is a one-time thing?" Kyle asked.
[Yes. Supposedly, we, the systems will use the energy given to us to create many things for our master and that thing we create must be within the boundary of what the function of the system is. For example, the sword system must use the energy to create something related to the sword. The sword system can create a super sword or sword skills for the master] said Dodo.
[As for me, I can use that energy to create something that will help our dojo and I choose to use it to create this universe so that the dojo can be expanded indefinitely] said Dodo. [Ah, many systems will usually not use all this energy given by the law of the multiverse and keep it to use later when they need it. The leftover energy will usually be used as a lifesaving power for their master.]
Kyle heard the last part and he fell silent. "What about my lifesaving power?" Since Dodo had used most of the energy to create a new universe, that meant he would not have any lifesaving power.
[Why will you need that kind of power? You will usually stay inside this dojo which has the absolute defense from any attack. You will be fine] said Dodo.
"You know, I am not going to stay inside this dojo all the time. I will need to get outside to buy groceries and find a girlfriend. So, I will need that lifesaving power especially when this planet will soon become a warzone," said Kyle dejectedly. He wanted that lifesaving power too but he did not blame Dodo to not think of that because he knew that the side effects made Dodo a bit dumb.
[You will be fine. Trust me. I told you I have made a lot of things to help this dojo and you, my master. You will be strong without even that life saving power] said Dodo but Kyle was not in the mood to believe that because of all the mistakes Dodo had made.
"Well then, how long will this remodeling happen?" Kyle asked. He did not want to listen to those depressing things anymore.
[Until noon] said Dodo and he continued, [Kyle, do you want me to remodel your house too?] Dodo was remodeling the first floor which was where the former skill book shop was located. He did not touch the second floor where Kyle's house was because he knew the house was precious to Kyle.
"No, let it be. If you want to expand the house, don't change anything to the house. Just add a new room or something similar. You don't need to do that now. It is fine to do it later especially when I get married or have children in the future," said Kyle. The house was filled with the memory of his parents. He did not want anything to change.
[If so, I will not touch anything. We can add things later in the future] said Dodo. Kyle nodded.
"Anyway, let's get back to business. Care to tell me what this 'hunting monster' means?" Kyle asked while he went upstairs to the second floor where his house was located. He entered the living room and sat on the sofa.
[Do you remember before I said that I upgrade the system because the original dojo system will only use monsters as the attraction for the dojo?] Kyle nodded. He remembered that because it was not long ago since Dodo said that.
"So, I will need to catch the monsters myself?" Kyle asked and he suddenly felt a bit sour because he will be in danger while hunting the monsters and would definitely need that life saving power.
[It used to be like that but we have made a lot of progress for the past two years and I have made some better upgrades to that. Before I make the upgrade, we will need to go out and catch all the monsters we found and serve it to our customer as our dojo's service] said Dodo.
"That will be a real hassle. We will need to go out a lot and catch massive amounts of monsters," said Kyle and Dodo needed to change that. Catching the monster was difficult too. The monsters were not like Pokemon where they need to weaken it and then catch it with a Pokeball.
[We will not need to fight the monster. All we need to do is finds a monster and the dojo system will catch the monster. It is like a pokemon trainer with infinite master ball] said Dodo and Kyle nodded.
"That sounds easy but the wild area is not a safe place and the number of monsters is limited. If we use this function and catch every monster in the wild, the monsters will not be able to breed and produce more monsters. We will be met with less monsters as time went on," said Kyle.
[That is why I made the upgrade in which we will not need to catch the monsters but we need to get their data and produce the monsters ourselves] said Dodo and he continued, [After I found out the usefulness of the analysis function in the hyper brain skill, I have used some of the energy given by the law of multiverse to make the monster-catching function into the monster recording function]
[With the monster recording function, all we need to do is collect the data of the monsters by absorbing and analyzing them and turn the results to detailed data. With the data, using a magic skill I have created, we will be able to produce the monsters] said Dodo but Kyle immediately found a problem with what Dodo had said.
"How about the soul? Without the soul, we will not be able to create a living monster. Have you found out a way to create a monster soul?" Kyle asked as this was the problem that had been plaguing them for the past few days.
[About that, unfortunately, we will not be able to create a monster soul because from my analysis using the energy given by the law of multiverse, the monster soul contains life. Life is not created using mana but the life law. To create a soul, we need to use the life law to give life to the soul] said Dodo and Kyle frowned.
"Is the law power something different than the mana?" Kyle asked and he continued, "I have been hearing all this law thing for a while."
[Yes, the law power is different from mana. You can say that the mana is born from the power of law. The law is the one creating the mana. The law is the origin of mana. With the law power, you can control and create things related to the law] said Dodo and Kyle nodded.
[And, only those magicians at the high rank can slightly use the power of law. So, to use the power of law, you need to reach a high rank as a magician and perceive the power of law to be able to use them] said Dodo.
"Then, how can we create a monster without the ability to use the life law?" Kyle asked.
[I have handled that. With the dojo system's power, I have made the connection to the life law and when a monster is created, the life law will give the monster a complete soul. Unfortunately, we cannot create a soul without a body like that. The natural soul can only be made this way, relying on the life law] said Dodo and Kyle nodded.
"Will this last long?" Kyle asked.
[It will last forever. No need to worry. Out of all the energy given by the law of multiverse, I use 30% of them to create the new universe and 65% of them is used to create a connection with the life law and the leftover 5% is used to modify some things in the system] Kyle was shocked and he finally knew that the life law must be above the space law.
"Can we create a human?" Kyle suddenly asked.
[No, we can't] said Dodo firmly and he continued, [Not only human, other races are impossible too because their souls need not only the life but also the intelligence, the wisdom and many more things that need the power of many other types of law] Kyle expected this kind of answer.
"…Hmm? Then, are the monsters without any intelligence or wisdom? I think I saw a lot of them in the news smarter than humans or any other races in the multiverse," Kyle found it weird.
[Those monsters gain them after they reach a certain rank in power. It is more like their luck is high that the law of multiverse gifted them intelligence and wisdom. They are usually unintelligent and will follow their instinct even if their rank is high] said Dodo and Kyle understood what Dodo was saying.
���You know quite a lot of things now," said Kyle.
[This is because you fully activate the dojo system] said Dodo.
"So, there is no other problem regarding the monsters?" Kyle asked and Dodo firmly said yes. "Then, we will not be able to sell natural monster soul to our customers," said Kyle. Since they could not create the soul, they will not be able to sell the monster soul. The artificial soul was out of the way as Kyle himself knew how inferior and impossible to improve it.
[We can. We have another function that will help us get the natural soul. I will not tell you now because we need to focus on something else first] said Dodo and Kyle was surprised. He wanted to know what that function was but decided to let it go.
Their dojo had not even opened yet, and they had yet to have the service and product they wanted to offer to their customers, so there was no need to think of that.
[We need to choose a skill for you so that we can hunt monsters for their data] said Dodo and Kyle nodded.
"How many skills can I construct?" Kyle asked. He knew that the artificial soul was inferior and he thought he could possibly construct at most 3 skills.
[I said a skill earlier, so, you can only construct one skill] said Dodo and he continued, [I cannot do much improvement to the soul because I have insufficient data about the eagle soul. Just tell me which skill you want and I will make the best one for you] said Dodo.
"How about the secret technique of our dojo?" Kyle asked. Dodo boasted about it before and he wondered if the secret techniques involved in the skills too and is it possible with the artificial soul.
[We cannot use any of that secret because of the inferior soul. Once we get a natural soul, the secret can be applied and I assure you that even if you are not a crown holder, you will be as strong as them] said Dodo.
"Whatever," Kyle decided to let it go. He knew that with the inferior soul, he could not do much. "Can you show me my status? I need to know what I am capable of to be able to choose my skill," asked Kyle. Dodo said before he had created the gaming interface and he could use it once the dojo system was activated.
[Here you go. From all the data I have on human and human magicians, this is how your status will look like] said Dodo and he added, [This data is precise. No need to worry. Just say status and the gaming status will appear in front of you] said Dodo and Kyle got excited.
"Status," said Kyle, and a blue floating screen appeared in front of him showing data about him. There was his name, age, height, weight, hair color, and many other things mentioned there. There was also data about his compatibility with monster soul and eagle and fox soul had 100% compatibility.
Below his basic data, there was data about his attack, defense, speed, and magic. There were also hp and mp shown on his status. "This is exactly like a game," said Kyle excitedly.
[Look who is the one designing it] said Dodo proudly.
"You did well, Dodo," Kyle praised Dodo because he thought that Dodo had indeed done a very good job.
