Chapter 9: The Kiss?
Dinner was finally served, roasted chicken with garlic and rosemary, and a salad with stuff from the garden that Mary grew with precision. "Is that garlic?" William asked eyeing the chicken carefully. "Well of course!"said Mary proudly as it was another thing out of her garden. "Well you see Mrs. Grace, Brent and I are vegetarians and we appreciate the meal but we will dine on salad tonight if that's alright with you." " Well um of course ." she smiles lightly " Victoria how is your meal dear? you've barely eaten." " Oh um its delicious just not very hungry tonight thats all.." " Well you need to eat tommorrow is a big day. For all we know you someone could be courting you tommorrow!" she smiles and continues eating. I eat a piece of chicken and warmth spreads through me. "mmm." " You should see what i have for dessert." Mary smiles proudly. " So William, are you and Brent from the village or elsewhere?" I start to zone out. Mary notices. "Lets get you up to bed dear your not looking the greatest." " ya um sure." i stand up and wobble a little bit and continue up the stairs.

10:00 p.m.
A light knock on the door. "Yes?" Brent enters with a cup of tea and a piece of carrot cake that Mary was so proud of. Brent sets the tray down on the nightstand and he puts his cheek to my forehead to feel for a temperature and his cheek is ice cold and i pull away. "Well you dont have a temperature. Maybe you got overheated from being outside to long." he puts his hand on my cheek. " How'd you get Mary to let you come up here without supervision. " I pull away again. " I didnt, Father is entertaining her on the violin." his deep brown eyes flash the amber color. " Victoria may i ask you something?" " Go ahead nothing stopping you." " Why do i feel like were connected and that you can be more than you are right now." " Umm excuse me?!" I stand up so quickly that my knees start to go out from under me. Before i can react Brent has a hand on my lower back pulling me close to him. " Im sorry for coming across so rash Victoria, but I feel like you can be so much more powerful than what you already are. " I blush deeply. Before i can stop myself I cup Brents face with my hands and kiss him deeply. After i am done kissing him I look up at him and his eyes are a full amber color. " Excuse me Victoria i must be going." and he quickly leaves the room. " Well bloody hell."
