Just after giving some more information about the child's circumstances and some instructions, the door of the room was opened and inside, they saw the household head crying on the floor while beside her was the mysterious man whom they invited to create the Northern Fairy's pill. The physician who saw the scene immediately alerted the elders of the house and just a few moments, everyone of the council were present.
"What is happening here!" Elder Hong who just arrived saw the scene stopped at her steps and stayed planted on her ground. However, another elder just suddenly came rushing toward the mysterious man.
"What have you done to the household head!!"
Long Bai immediately took out his grade 1 weapon from his cosmic pouch and secretly took a high grade berserk pill consecutively. This gave him a boost equal to the late stages of the visceral stage which matched the elder who was attacking him. Since they were just matched evenly, the shockwave that was sent all over the place shook the building they were in and the objects inside were toppled. At the same moment, a fierce attack came from the bed's direction aimed at the elder who made a violent reaction. Everyone who was watching became dumbfounded with the sequence of the events. The elder took the full brunt of the attack and was sent flying past the spectators. On a brick wall, the elder's body was planted and became muddle headed.
"What do you think you're doing!! Are you also trying to kill my daughter?!!"
Everyone felt the anger coming from their household head and eventually became silent. On the other hand, the elder who was attacked tried to stand on both feet while borrowing support from a wall.
"Esteemed leader, I didn't mean to...keukk!" The elder wasn't able to state her defense as she spewed blood. Before she lost her consciousness and fall to the ground, two nearby elders came to support her.
"Everyone, quiet! You're in my daughter's room. To cause commotion in this place is the same as an attempted murder against me and my daughter. I won't hesitate to kill you if you try anything that would endanger my daughter even if you're a person who holds a high position in the family."
That was a threat. A threat to everyone, especially to the ones she know who wanted her daughter's life. For a caring and a loving mother, there is no other precious than the well- being of their child.
"Calm down sister. We came here because someone reported about you being in danger. Tell us what happened."
"Elder Hong, you tell me what's going to happen." Hu Ling opened her right palm and showed a glistening pill that is radiating a cold aura. The room's temperature dropped a few Celsius upon exposing the pill.
"This... " Upon looking at the pill at her sister's hand, elder Hong beamed with smile. "Dear sister. That's the Northern fairy's pill that we are looking for all this time. I can see that it is also at high quality based from its golden sheen."
Everyone in the crowd reacted upon hearing the said good news. Smiles beamed from most of the present ones while there was someone whose smile was a bit different.
"Yes, the Northern Fairy's pill. Master Hao here called it the Freezing heart pill. Sister Hong, it was you who told us that this pill will cure my daughter's illness. Why is that again?"
Everyone looked at elder Hong with interest. It was told that a certain grade 4 pill will cure the disease but no one asked the how's and the why's of the situation. This time they were silently expecting some response.
"My sister Ling, why haven't you give the pill yet when it's already in your hands? My niece is becoming weaker and weaker by the mome..."
"Please answer the question, dear sister..." Hu Ling interrupted.
"What's wrong with you sister Ling? Why are you acting like this."
"I SAID, ANSWER THE QUESTION!"
Hu Ling wasn't able to hold her patience and shouted at her older sister.
"Alright, alright. Calm down. It's like this. After my travels to other cities, I heard about a certain condition which resembles the signs and symptoms of my niece. It was that her body was trying to adjust to the developing body constitution but the amount of ice essence from her body was not enough. If we give the Northern Fairy's pill, she'll be able to have a good supply of cold essence and complete the transformation upon awakening her essence core."
"But sister, you haven't told us everything isn't it?"
After a short pause of silence, she continued, "I would like you to surrender your cosmic pouch."
"Why should I do that? I don't quite understand what's going on." Elder Hong retorted
Everyone is getting confused with the flow of conversation and are clueless to where the conversation is going. Amidst that, the mysterious man chimed in.
"You may have done it once a month, then once a week, until you ran out of patience and been doing it every day. Since you need to give it everyday, you would always carry it with you. Isn't that right?"
Hu Ling started to walk slowly towards her sister who became tense with the current situation. Elder Hong felt cornered in her mind and seemed to understand the meaning behind the man's word. In her mind she was having a debate. 'They found out about the poison? But how, this poison is untraceable when it enters the body.' Due to panic, she all have was to deny the allegations she created in her mind.
"Sister, was this the man's doing? He's lying. I would never poison your daughter. She's my niece after all."
(Gasps) Everyone who heard elder Hong's defensive words made them realize what was going on. To the onlookers, they would not have been able to follow the conversation until the word 'poison' was uttered but those who are guilty would understand that the context of the conversation was about that. The evidence was found.
"Sister, no one said about poison and yet you brought it out. You have just confessed to your crime."
"No! I won't do such thing!" Elder Hong was still trying to deny the verdict until Hu Ling gave the instruction to restrain her. Although she tried to resist for a while, she was no match to the two elders who kept her on her knees to the hard ground. Hu Ling conducted a search and found the vial that contained the poison in her cosmic pouch.
"Why?" Hu Ling just spoke a single word but to the receiver of the question, she knows that it meant a thousand questions.
"You're still clueless after all of this? Ha! Never mind. I have never considered you sister since mother chose you to become the future head of the household. By tradition of our family, the eldest should have receive the leadership while the younger ones would join the sect, but you... you chose to stay. Weren't you selfish?
Haaa.. The kid should have died from the poison but i never expected that she'll be so resilient with it. That was why I became reckless in the end and decided to hasten the process, I was even glad for you to find an alchemist but I never expected that he'll be knowledgeable about diseases. Say mister, can you tell me why the poison did not work after all this years?"
Elder Hong shifted her eyes to the mysterious man with them in the room, waiting for an answer. In her eyes, it was just pure curiousity which convinced Long Bai to respond.
"This is might be a good time to discuss about it. Miss Ling, would you like me to say it here?" Long Bai waited for a response and after a few seconds, he saw Hu Ling replying with a slight nod.
"Alright. First, the reason why the poison was not able to take the child's life was because of her special constitution. The cold essence that is coursing through her veins is preventing the poison from affecting the organs. The energy that was supposed to be used for her daily activities was utilized to counter the poison that was why she wasn't able to wake up. When the dosage of the poison was increased, this gave a huge burden to the veins and organs due to the colder temperature which the body can't take. I don't know where elder Hong learned about supplementing the child with a cold- type pill but this is defijitely correct. However, in the event that a weakened person will take such potent pill, there is a high chance that the veins and organs may burst; just like when they were subjected to poison for 2 years. This is what elder Hong tried to take advantage off so she won't be suspected.
For the second one, your daughter may be one of the few, maybe one in a million, whose going to awaken a unique type of essence core which would most likely be an ice type core."
Later, elder Hong's conspirators were captured and interrogated. After extracting few informations, the household head learned the cause to be of 'jealousy'. Jealous of her younger sister's achievements and authority within the entire household. Because she was still a member of the household, she was given a choice to die painlessly rather than to rot in a cell.
