Chapter 11

Christmas was a joyful time at the mansion. Early in the morning, Jean and Harry were going through the presents under the Christmas Tree. There were quite a few gifts there, but the ones that were for them had their initials, H and J, on them. There were a few with the initial S on them, and the rest had gift cards with them.

In the middle of the night, Harry had come down to leave the presents he had bought. The gifts from the others were already there, but he had promised Jean to go through them together, so he left them untouched, even though he was tempted to check them out.

Unsurprisingly, Harry received a lot of books for Christmas. After all, he was sorted in Ravenclaw for a reason.

From Xavier, he got a book on Psychology. That would serve to be far more helpful than what Charles would've imagined since Harry had already started trying to control animals with his telepathy. He had mostly attempted that with insects and small animals like birds, but the book would be useful if he ever moves onto more intelligent creatures.

From Ororo, Harry received three sets of books on Spanish, Italian, and Japanese. He had already finished learning Arabic and had moved onto Latin during his time at Hogwarts. He was nowhere close to being done with Latin since he had other things to focus on.

From Logan, Hary got a handwritten book on hand to hand combat. The gesture of the wild man actually sitting down to write a book made him happy, but he cringed from how bad his writing was. He even considered finding a charm that would read the book for him, but decided against that since it was readable if you tried enough.

Harry even found a book that he presumed was from Dumbledore since it had no title, but it was about Transfiguration and Conjuration. It was handwritten like the one from Logan, but the writing of the two was like night and day. He wasn't sure how Dumbledore had delivered it, but he guessed it was dropped off by Fawkes.

From Jean, Harry hadn't even expected a present. Unlike him, she hadn't inherited vaults filled with gold. That's why her gift was so much more special. Jean had probably saved up the allowance she was given daily to buy his gift. The present was a simple red scarf with black trimmings. He was going to wear it proudly and as much as possible. Thankfully, the weather in the UK was a colder one, so it wouldn't look too out of place.

"Thank you for the scarf! I love it!" Harry hugged her.

"Why do you think it's from me?" Jean asked innocently, and he gave her a knowing smile. She couldn't hold it and giggled a response. "Fine, it's from me. Soo... you like it?"

"As I said, I love it!" Jean beamed him a smile and continued looking through her gifts. The last one she opened was the smallest of them all. Inside, she found the enchanted mirror from Harry.

The Jean in the mirror looked her up and down, causing her to widen her eyes in surprise. "Tsk, you didn't even bother brushing your hair. Bed hair is a no-no. And the pajamas, uhh, green doesn't suit you as much as you think it does, and it's so last year. You would look so much better if you follow my advice."

"It talks!" Jean exclaimed.

"Yes, I talk, and you are not listening!" The Jean in the mirror called out. "Now, chop-chop, go to your room, and brush your hair! We have to fix that mess of a bird's nest you have on your head."

"My hair isn't such a mess, is it?" Jean turned to Harry.

"I don't think so," he answered.

"Yes, listen to the stupid male," The Jean in the mirror chided. "The one that has a bird's nest of his own. Now, be your way, sweetie, we have to make you presentable."

"Harry's opinion matters!" Jean stomped her foot to show her displeasure.

"Then, let's make it matter even more by making you a beautiful young lady. Don't you want to hear him praise you?" Mirror Jean asked.

"That does sound nice," Jean said quietly and looked down.

"It does, doesn't it? Now towards your room. We don't have time to waste." Mirror Jean finally managed to convince her.

"I'll be right back!" Jean told Harry and bolted towards her room.

"Don't lie, you would need at least 20 minutes to fix this mess," came the voice of Mirror Jean.

Harry blinked a few times, thinking to himself. 'That wasn't how I imagined this.'

When Jean came down later, Harry had to admit that she did indeed looked very pretty. Not that she wasn't pretty before that. Shortly after, the rest of the residents came down and checked their Christmas presents.

Ororo happily hugged Harry for being given books on languages she hadn't heard of. Charles started reading Hogwarts, A History with interest. And Logan looked at the bottle of Blishen's Firewhisky with a weird expression.

"Pup," he addressed Harry. "I appreciate the gesture, but alcohol doesn't affect me. I drink beer since I like the taste."

Charles and Ororo, who were both already reading their books, looked at him horrified expression. "Harry!" They called out in sync. "Where did you buy that? And who would sell alcohol to a kid?"

"I got it from Diagon Alley," Harry answered them.

"And they didn't stop you from buying it?" Ororo looked appalled how easily a kid could buy alcohol in the Wizarding World.

"No," Harry shook his head. "But I was warned that it's very strong and that it has an interesting effect."

Logan shrugged his shoulders and decided to at least test it out. He might end up liking it. He opened it and drank directly from the bottle. The moment the liquid entered his mouth, Logan felt a burning and tingling sensation. He took another good look at the bottle and then turned towards Harry.

"Pu-" A breath of fire escaped his mouth the moment he opened it. Logan's eyes widened, and he took another good look at the bottle of Blishen's Firewhisky. He drank again from it, and the same thing happened once he opened his mouth afterward.

"Pup!" Lagan said excitedly. "This is one hell of a drink."

"Langauge! There are kids here!" Ororo scolded him, but Logan continued on. "The taste is superb, and the effect interesting. It gives me a feeling that I hadn't experienced in years. You'll have to show me where you got this from. I want more of it."

"No such thing would happen! Harry won't be going anywhere near the place he bought it from. Right, Harry?" Ororo looked at him sternly.

"Yes, Aunt Ro," Harry nodded to her and discreetly winked at Logan, who laughed out loud. He wanted to ask to try the drink as well since spewing fire seemed cool, but that would have to wait. Hopefully, Logan won't drink it all before he asks.

Harry wasn't the only one who was interested in the drink and its effect. Scott was also amazed by Firewhisky. He thought of asking Logan to try it or even asking Harry to get one for them. Scott still didn't like him, especially since Jean had started ignoring him ever since Harry returned. She was spending all her time with who he now considered his rival. However, he didn't hate him as much. Not after Harry had given him those magical sweets. All of them were delicious, and each one tasted differently. One of them was even pizza-flavored. That was his favorite one. Conflicted he may be, but Scott still didn't like Harry.

The rest of the holiday passed without any special events. That lasted until a few days before Harry was to return to Hogwarts. There was a new addition to the residents of the mansion. It was a pale boy a year older than Harry with brown hair and blue eyes. His name was Robert Drake, but he preferred being called Bobby. He had unlocked his mutant powers and had been chased by a mob who called him a devil. Thanks to the timely assistance of Ororo and Xavier, he was saved and decided to join them.

When Harry learned of Bobby's powers, he called him 'Aokiji.' He had no idea what that meant until he was given a manga called 'One Piece' to read. Bobby had similar powers to the Blue Pheasant since he was able to create, control, and transform into ice at will. They weren't sure if he could regenerate lost body parts with his ability, but they weren't willing to find out.

The two hit it off over the manga, and Harry liked Bobby since he seemed like a cool dude. However, there was one tiny little problem. Bobby ended up liking Harry, which normally wouldn't be an issue, expect Bobby liked-liked him. That wasn't something he was willing to try. Harry was hoping that would transfer over to Scott when he leaves for Hogwarts.

"Hey, girl," Harry scratched Ryze's feathers. "Would you mind bringing me to Hogwarts?" He was returning one day before the other kids since he wanted to complete Rowena's test. Ryze cooed before transporting him to his room, and he boldly stepped into the Chamber of Wisdom.

"Are you prepared?" Rowena asked, knowing it was time.

"Yes," Harry answered with confidence. He was more than certain he would succeed. Not only had he mastered all the information on the books he read, but he also had the regular sessions about Transfiguration with Dumbledore.

Rowena's test would be hard for anyone that didn't have his advantages. Harry was able to read all the books faster due to time passing quicker in his mindscape. He also didn't need to bother with creating a strong mental defense due to his mutant powers. He was effectively cheating.

"Then let's begin," said Rowena. "Transform the table into a hog." Transfiguring objects into living beings was one of the harder things to do. Harry flicked his wand and turned the table into a squealing hog.

Rowena carefully studied the hog, making sure that there was nothing out of place. "Good, now return it back into a table."

Harry returned the hog to its original appearance, and Rowena inspected it, making sure that the table had no remaining hog features. Once satisfied, she continued. "Good, now make Eclipse wooden and the table feathery." The eagle winced in displeasure, but he didn't move from his perch.

Rowena wasn't asking him to do it one after the other. She wanted him to make both changes at the same time. That was done through Switching, the art of magically exchanging physical features between two targets. Thankfully, the eagle didn't have the same magic resistance as a troll.

With two flicks, one pointed at the table, one at Eclipse, Harry swapped their features. The eagle turned into a wooden statue while the table sprouted feathers. He changed them back once Rowena nodded to him.

"So far, so good. Now I want you to conjure a dagger."

Harry concentrated. Conjuration was the hardest branch of Transfiguration, and he had spent the most time working on that. It took him a bit, but he was able to create a metal dagger with a wooden handle.

"Give it to Eclipse to test it out," said Rowena, and Harry handed it to the eagle, who took it in his beak. Eclipse squeezed it for a few moments before the dagger snapped in two. That got Harry worried, but the eagle turned to Rowena and gave her a nod.

"Now, vanish the broken dagger."

Vanishment was the opposite of Conjuration. However, it was the easier of the two. He brought the two parts of the dagger next to each other with his telekinesis before flicking his wand and vanishing them.

Rowena nodded at this display. "With this, you've passed the Transfiguration part of the test. There have been many that have done the same, but none have passed the next one. Are you prepared?"

Harry rolled his eyes but confirmed nonetheless. "Yes."

For him, the Transifguarion part of the test was the harder one. He was never worried about defending his mind. In fact, he was more worried about Eclipse. The eagle was old, and Harry didn't want him to die because he got in contact with the Phoenix. For that not to happen, he brought up his strongest mental shields and stared at Eclipse.

The eagle looked unwilling, but Harry felt a pang on his mental shields. Hit after hit, Eclipse attacked him mentally, but his shields held on. This continued on until the eagle attacked him one last time, far stronger than rest. When even that didn't have any effect, Eclipse turned towards Rowena and nodded to her.

Harry had a feeling that the eagle hadn't gone all out. Either due to being afraid of the Phoenix or maybe it wasn't expected for an 11-year old to be able to contend with him at full power.

A large smile blossomed on Rowena's face. Happiness was radiating off her even though she was only a portrait. For hundreds of years, she had waited for someone to pass her test and to become her heir. Finally, there was someone who had succeeded. Someone who was worthy of being called the Heir of Ravenclaw, she finally had someone worthy to pass down her magical knowledge to. Rowena had so much she wanted to teach him, but there were a couple other things before that.

"My Heir," Rowena spoke softly yet with pride. "Everything in this room is free for you to use, but that is not the only thing that you will receive. Your first gift, the one that is available to all four Heirs of Hogwarts, is the Room of Requirments."

"The Room of Requirments? What's that?" Harry asked.

"It's a very special room. The second magical object that the four of us created after the Sorting Hat. The Room of Requirement is sentient and can transform itself into whatever you need it to be, of course, there are some limitations to it. It can not create things, but it can summon anything that is within the castle," Rowena explained. "You can find it on the seventh floor in the left corridor. It has a hidden entrance opposite to the tapestry. You have to walk past it three times, thinking about what you need, and the door will appear."

"The second thing, which is like a rite of passage, is the Blood Ritual that I underwent when I was younger," said Rowena.

"Blood Ritual?" Harry asked with wide eyes. "Isn't that Dark Magic?"

"There is no such thing as Dark Magic!" Rowena snapped at him. "Magic is not Light nor Dark, it is Grey. The only thing that matters is how you use it! You could kill someone with the simplest of Charms just as easily as you could with the strongest of Curses. Remember this my Heir, the most important thing is the intent behind your Magic!"

"I see," Harry said thoughtfully. What Rowena told him made sense. He could kill someone by levitating him off a high place, or he could kill with the Blasting Curse. It would make no difference since, in the end, he would be killing someone.

"So, what is this Blood Ritual then?" Harry asked.

"I hope you've noticed the carvings on the floor in the room you spent so much time." When Harry nodded, she continued. "You would have to fill each of the triangles with your blood using a Ritual Dagger." As if on cue, Eclipse spit out a dagger made of black metal.

"Gross."

Rowena continued as if she hadn't heard his comment. "After you've filled your blood in all seven of them, you would have to place the dagger in the middle. Your blood will get saturated with magic and will convolve into the dagger within 12 hours. Once that's done, you will have to carve three runes on your head."

"What?!" Harry exclaimed.

"Do not worry. Eclipse has been trained to carve runes to perfection," Rowena said.

"No, not that part. They have to be carved on my head?" Carving runes on his head didn't sound pleasant to Harry in any way whatsoever. He was sure that it would be a painful process.

"Yes," Rowena confirmed. "The runes are meant to boost your mental capabilities and increase the potential of your brain. They are Ingwaz, Uruz, and Eihwaz."

"How is Eclipse going to carve them? He is an eagle and has no hands?" Harry asked.

"He has been trained for this. Do not worry about that. The main reason he is here, besides testing the mental defense of the test taker, is to make sure the ritual is done correctly if someone becomes my Heir," Rowena answered him.

"What about my blood? I'm going to die of blood loss before I fill the triangles with it," said Harry.

"Do Blood-Replenishing Potions no longer exist? They were created since Blood Rituals were common back in my days," said Rowena.

"No," Harry answered weakly. He had thought about that, but he was just making excuses.

"Then get a couple Blood-Replenishing Potions and start the ritual," Rowena told him.

"Now?" Harry asked. He was planning on delaying it until he was ready to do it. Or not do it at all.

"The sooner you do it, the better it would be for you. The ritual would boost your brain potential, besides making it process and remember information better," said Rowena before grinning at him. "And it would boost your... mutant powers as well. My gift was enhanced thanks to the ritual."

"God, I'm really going to do this?" Harry asked himself.

"You will. You will lose nothing from it," Rowena told him. "Just get the Blood-Replenishing Potions, and you can begin."

Harry took a deep breath and called Ryze. The phoenix appeared within seconds and looked around the Chamber of Wisdom. "Sorry for calling you again, girl, but can I ask you to bring me to Diagon Alley? I need to grab something from there, so can you drop me at the alley we left before the holidays?"

Ryze cooed, and the two disappeared in flames. Harry visited J. Pippin's Potions, bought the necessary Blood-Replenishing, and stocked on a few others that sounded useful. Including a pain-numbing one. Done with his purchases, he returned back to the Chamber of Wisdom with Ryze. He was still uncertain about the Blood Ritual, but Rowena wouldn't wish him harm after he had just become her Heir, right?

CREATORS' THOUGHTS
firechicken firechicken

This is an HP/MCU crossover. Don't think that it would follow the exact timeline of Earth-199999 (MCU) or Earth-616 (The Prime Universe). Think of this as just another one of the many Earths of Marvel. I've dubbed it Earth-4464 since it's not taken and is my discord number. I will try to include as many of the plots as I can, might even change up a few, but I will probably forget some as well.

Just a reminder Harry started attending Hogwarts in 2010, and it is now 2011.

Lastly, if any of you want to discuss the story with me, give your suggestions, or be spoiled of what I've planned, you can add me on discord. I will leave it in the comments.
