Chapter 7: 5

N A M J O O N

I was sitting in a room, the only light was the bulb swinging above my head. I was alone, or so I thought. I heard screaming and looked around, there was no one.

"Hello?"

No one answered but there was another scream, it sounded closer. I turned around and expected to see my father or my sister but I was surprised when I saw Jhope. He looked dead, blood pouring from a hole in his head, bullet holes littering his chest.

I ran for him but the light vanished along with Jhope and I was left in complete silence and darkness. The only thing I heard was my silent sobs.

"Namjoon ." someone called. I knew that voice. It was Jhope .

"Namjoon." I looked around again but there was nothing.

"Namjoon." I woke up to Jhope shaking me, "Hey, you okay?"

Jhope was sitting there, staring at me with those same concerned eyes that woke me up most days. He wasn't wearing his sling anymore but he was still not fully healed.

I stared at him for a long time, longer than I should have, I think I was just trying to find the meaning of my dream in him. I found nothing.

Jhope looked away and I got out of bed, "Breakfast is on the counter, you have thirty minutes before you have to meet up with your therapist. This is the visit that determine if you are going to be able to move on in training." With that he left.

I got up, my head starting to ache, got dressed and ate the breakfast he made. I walked out and walked to my therapists office.

It was a long session, I was asked too many questions and answered all of them truthfully, my head ache didn't go away. Then after that, we started talking about my dream while she evaluated my answers.

"So you were troubled when you saw Jhope like that? Dead and scattered in bullet holes?"

The image came back in my head and I flinched, I hated that image. Though why had I had that dream and what did it mean?I nodded, answering her question.

"I'm going to ask you a few questions and then you will be free to go. Okay?"

"Okay." I said and she looked up and smiled at me.

"Is this the first time you've dreamed about Jhope l?"

I shook my head, there were a few others.

"How did you feel when Jhope came home injured?"

"Concerned."

"And how do you feel about your dream?"

I shrugged.

"Do you care about Jhope?"

I nodded, of course I did, he'd done so much for me when I had done nothing in return. No one had been so nice to me before.

"That is all. You may go back and tell Jhope that you can advance in your training."

Without another word I got up and walked back to my apartment.

Jhope was on the couch reading a book he had gotten on our last grocery run.

"What did she say?" He asked, bookmarking his page and setting his book to the side.

"I could advance in training."

"That's great." He smiled.

That smile had to be the only thing that actually made me happy. Or maybe it was just Jhope himself, but that was a scary thought.

"Yeah."

"Do you want to head down to the gym or have the rest of the day off?" He asked me. I felt tired and kind of hot but I still wanted to go to the gym, it was a good distraction.

"Gym." I answered.

With that we went to the gym and I trained, no sparing today, just weightlifting and practicing on a punching bag. I thought I would feel better but it only got worse, my head started to ache.

"You know I'm gonna be fully healed in a few days. And as soon as I'm cleared we are gonna spar. And in just one month you are going to be working with me."

I nodded and continued punching the bag in front of me. With Jhope around my thoughts didn't drift as much to my past. He had become the first stable thing in my life that wasn't negative and maybe that was why I felt so comfortable around him.

"Calm down, Namjoon." He said and lightly touched my arm. He was the only person that could touch me so calmly without me flinching.

I hadn't even known that I was pushing myself so hard. My breathing was fast and hard, my knuckles bled and my muscles ached. Why had I done that, especially when I already felt so bad.

I turned to face Jhope , his hand still on my arm, and instead of seeing the live and healthy Jhope I saw that dead one, riddled with bullets.

I blinked and it was the same. This isn't real.

I reached out and touched him, just gently on his cheek. Just like that the live one was in front of me, my shaking hand still gently touching his cheek.

"Namjoon , you're burning up."

"I don't feel so good." I said and lost my balance, my head spinning and heart racing. I could feel my pulse in my temples.

"Oh God," he groaned as he caught me, "Why didn't you tell me you felt bad?" He asked.

I shrugged and tried to stand up again but my body was so tired.

"Let's get you to the infirmary."

I held on to him as he helped me to the infirmary. I had no idea how I could get this bad so fast.

We got to the infirmary and a nurse immediately checked me out, quickly diagnosing me with only a few tests and standard procedures. I was so out of it I didn't even care about how close she was.

"Namjoon you have the flu. You pushed yourself to hard and mad it worse. You need to take this medication and rest. Unfortunately many men have come down with this. I would advise you to be careful around him Jhope so you don't get sick yourself."

"Thank you." Jhope took the bag of medicine I would have to take and led me back to our apartment.

"I'm going to run you off a bath and then you should take your medicine and sleep."

"Okay." I said and took a seat on the couch, feeling exhausted.

I heard the bathwater running and before I knew it Jhope was telling me that the bath was ready. I got to the bathroom and took off my clothes sinking in the tub with a sigh, it felt good.

I almost fell asleep three times but Jhope knocked and woke we up every time I started to doze off, checking on me. It was on the third time that I started to fall asleep that I finally got out of the bath. I took the medicine the nurse gave me and ate whatever Jhope prepared.

My body ached, punishing me for pushing myself so hard.

"You should go lay down in bed." He suggested.

I had taken a seat on the couch and intended to stay in here, not ready to sleep just yet though I knew I should.

I shook my head and asked, "Can you turn on the radio?" Jhope had recently bought one because is was on clearance.

He sighed, deciding not to push me to go to bed any more, "Okay, classical?"

I nodded, it was what we mostly listened to while Jhope was cooking or reading, like he was doing now. He always asked if I wanted a book but I never did, I just liked listening to the music.

I ended up falling asleep on the couch.

I looked over at Namjoon and saw that he had fallen asleep not even thirty minutes after he decided to stay in the living room he was asleep.

About an hour later there was a light knock on the door.

I set my book to the side and answered the door. It was one of Jeon's personal guards, soon to be his sons.

"Mr.JEON would like you to meet his son. I will take you to the house."

"Okay, let me get some shoes on." I got some shoes and left a note for Namjoon if I wasn't back in time.

We walked to the house and into JEON's office. He was in his chair, behind his desk, his son, Jungkook, was standing beside him, they were discussing something.

"You wanted to see me, sir." I said as we walked in.

Jeon stood up when he noticed us.

"Yes, yes. I wanted you to properly meet my son. When he takes over I would like you and eventually Namjoon to work here at the house with my son." He turned to Jungkook, "This is the man I was talking about, Jhope ."

He held out his hand for me and I shook it, "It's nice to finally meet you. My father doesn't always make it a habit to know his men's names, so you must be good."

I offered a curt nod and stepped away. We talked a little while longer, discussing the changes I would go through and how I would work longer, though not too long because I still had to train Namjoon.

"I apologize if this sounds rude but Namjoon has come down with the flu and I would like to get back before he wakes up, if he isn't already awake."

Jeon perked up a bit at the mention of Namjoon and allowed me to go after parting words from both Jungkook and Jeon.

When I got back to the apartment Namjoon was still asleep but sprawled out all along the couch, the music still playing. I smiled and put a blanket over him, grabbing my book and taking a seat on the chair beside the couch.

When I got tired I turned off the lights and radio and made sure Namjoon looked okay before going to sleep.

Sorry for the lack of updates. Maybe one day I will get on schedule (probably not). But good news, I'm done with this semester so I'm off for winter break and will have more time to write without stress!!
