Chapter 9: [Arc 1]Chapter 8
WALTER MASAMUNE's POV
BEEP... BEEP... BEEP...
I looked towards my alarm as I finished changing into my clothes.
'Huh. Could've sworn I turned that thing off.', I thought absentmindedly as I slipped on my socks.
It's been a week and a half since my arrival in this place, it's also the start of a new week.
It seems the reason why Saki isn't going to school is because there's a holiday, and it ends next week. So, in other words:
'I've got a week to get used to this town.'
I need to remember the different streets and locations so I don't do anything careless.
Afterall, after practicing Absolute Energy Meditation once more I had a few side effects come onto me. These effects are: enhanced senses, enhanced supernatural senses and also a calmer mental state. Well, this is if you forget the collection of mana and qiqong while also expanding their capacities.
Anyway, I recently discovered that there are demons in this world as well, which reaffirms my question of:
'Why are they hiding not cohabitated onto this planet with the humans?'
I'm not gonna assume that they're in hiding because these demons do flashy things, like converting a human into a demon. Although, they're not the only ones as those winged fellows are also doing the same.
I sighed in mental exasperation.
'I better keep Saki away from all these races.', I thought as I headed towards my mirror and inspected my appearance.
My appearance seems different as my complexion seems better, my body is more fit and fattened. My clothing consists of a plain white shirt with a collar and blue jeans.
I exited my room and headed towards the exit of the residence.
"Are you ready?", Saki asked me.
Saki was wearing a casual white tanktop and orange shorts, she also carried a backpack.
"Yep.", I replied while putting on my white trainers, while also slightly glancing at her orange sandals.
"So, where we heading first?", I asked my amber-eyed tour guide.
"First we're heading to Mina-chan's house, and then from there we'll go to the park to meet everyone.", She replied to me with a smile.
I nodded and then we proceeded to leave the residence while saying:
"I'm heading out."
I then proceeded to follow Saki while observing and memorising the surroundings, while also letting Saki explain the important areas - namely the sweets shop - and some minor areas.
Eventually, we made it to a normal Japanese house. As I continued to observe the surroundings, I had many thoughts but an apparent thought was:
'Man, these people keep they're streets clean. Like what the fuck.', I thought while bumping into Saki's back.
Seeing that I bumped into Saki's back, I noticed that we were finally here. Saki rang the door bell and it was soon opened.
The person who opened the door was someone who I presume to be the mother of this 'Mina-chan'.
"Ah, Saki-chan! And this is..?", A tall dark brown haired lady inquired.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Masamune Walter. I'm Saki's adoptive brother.", I greeted with a polite bow.
"Oh? Such nice manners.", She commented to which I responded with "Of course, showing appreciation to someone such as yourself would be my pleasure."
When I stated these words I thought:
'Huh, that sounds kinda cheesy.'
After some normal chatter, she allowed us inside to the living room. I followed behind Saki - seeing how she's familiar with this place - and while also memorising the layout for safety precautions.
My eyes landed on the girl who was sitting on the couch with sharp expectant eyes. From my perspective she had had straight dark brown hair and almond brown eyes, while also seeming to be a healthy shade of slim.
"Mina, I'm here!", Saki enthusiastically greeted Mina.
"Oh, Your here!", Mina jumped off the couch and dived towards Saki to give her a hug - which for some reason reminded me of a bear cuddling it's cubs - while also seemingly to rub their cheeks together.
I smiled slightly, seeing that their friendship seemed to be a very good one. After a few minutes of hugging she finally noticed me.
"Oh~ who's this?", She glared at me.
'Yep very good friends.', I smiled wryly.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Masamune Walter. I'm Saki's adoptive brother.", I said with a bow.
Her gaze softened albeit slightly, and then she smiled.
"Hmph, nice to meet you too, I'm Sakurai Minazuki.", She offered a handshake which I took.
After that, Saki and Minazuki had some childish banter - which I occasionally joined - but then it was time to go to the park after around 30 minutes.
"Welp, it's time to go to the park.", I stated with a calm smile.
"Eh~ already?", Minazuki Complained while Saki was enthusiastic.
"Yay~ lets go!"
We soon proceeded to exit house, while also notifying Minazuki's mother. Since Saki had already told Minazuki that I'm from out if town, Minazuki started lecturing me properly about the different places and locations although we were heading towards the park.
"Hmm?", I murmured as I noticed mana being disrupted somewhere close, but not close are near our destination.
"What's wrong?", Saki asked me while Minazuki's sharp eyes pierced me.
"Nothing.", I replied.
We then continued to head to the park - but with more caution - and then we soon arrived.
The park was neither large nor small, it had some equipment but it had a lot of trees and open plains.
'This would be a good place to train or relax.', I thought with a slight smile.
I continued to follow the two girls until we had arrived to a pair of children. There were about 5 children in total if you include us. In other words, there were two new kids.
"Hey~ Irina-chan!", Saki waved towards the violet eyed girl.
"Saki-chan! Hello~", The chestnut haired girl waved back.
I glanced towards the other kid - temporarily discarding the boyish girl's presence - and noticed that this kid was a male with brown hair and eyes.
"Oh come on~ what about me?", The kid complained.
"Hehe~ Hello to you too, Issei-san.", Saki giggled.
"Nice to meet both of you too.", Minazuki greeted the two kids.
After some more greetings and formalities, the two kids eventually noticed me.
