Chapter 51: Two fate intertwined
I'm back and I will be back to posting new chapters and also because I wasn't sure they would unlock my novel. I was going to make the new novel but I didn't have too while I was checking the old chapters I decided to fix my grammar on my old ones in my free time so don't get confused that I deleted some chapters. I just fused some chapters together so that it is longer. thank you for waiting and understanding that I need to fix my problems.

---Lara pov---
Three years have passed since Joseph let me go. I tried to talk to him the next day when he told me to leave him alone, but then I found out that he was not home anymore. I tried going every day to his cafe, but Joseph and Haru never came back. There have been rumors that he moved out of London and went back home to New Zealand.
I was devastated when I heard this news. I tried to call Joseph's phone, but he never answered my phone call. I reverted to my introvert self, but Sam helped me out by making me travel with her to Mt. Kilimanjaro, Bulgaria, and the Great Wall of China. I slowly forgot about Joseph, but my heart still longed for him.
Currently, Conrad Roth, my surrogate father, hired me to work in a research vessel named Endurance. I accepted the job because I would be able to see my Idole, Dr. James Whitman, from my favorite show, Whitman's World, which won the award for best documentary series. But sadly, Dr. Whitman's fundings for the expedition was pulled out.
Alex Weiss, who was tech-savvy, decided to hack into gambling websites to "borrow" some money, which didn't go too well. When things were not going well for our expedition to Yematai, I decided to call my best friend Sam for help, which she successfully secured our fundings. But Dr. Whitman's said we need a camera crew, and Sam decided to step in with one more extra she didn't tell anyone about including me.
Right now, I am in my private cabin, reading a book to pass the time until the new crewmate came today. Sam would not stop giggling and looking at me as if she is hiding something from me. While reading, I heard someone knocking on my door.
Jonah: "little birdy we have to head up the deck to meet our new crew, Sam said he is almost here."
Lara: "yeah, I will go with you, " I said, while putting my book on my bed. I headed toward him, who was outside my door. We walked for a couple of minutes when Jonah suddenly stopped and looked at me.
Jonah: "you sorry, Lara, can we pass by my cabin. I need to grab something from there." he said with an apologetic look on his face. "I would take long beside it on our way toward the deck." when I heard this, I didn't mind.
When we finally reached his cabin, his cabin looked very Hawaiian themed, which I loved the most as it looked vibrant. What draws me is the picture of his family; they seemed happy in this picture.
Lara: "your family looked happy in this picture, your sister and mother looked beautiful with their white hair but too bad you didn't get their good looks." I said, trying to make fun of Jonah, which didn't work and only laughed at me.
Jonah: "Hahaha... You should see what my little brother looked like," he said while taking the picture off my hand.
Lara: "So your brother looks like your mother and sister who are happily smiling in this picture." I said while looking at the picture. Jonah stopped for a minute and sighed.
Jonah: "Yeah, he looked the same with the white hair and handsome face, but he is not happy, unlike the rest of us." he said while looking at the picture, then looking out the window. "He is gloomy, always on edge about something, and he stopped being happy about anything."
Lara: "Oh.. and where is your brother now, and what is he doing." I said while looking at him. Jonah glanced back at me and answered my question.
Jonah: "He is currently running his Cafe with his daughter." he said while looking at me. When I heard his words, my mind stopped for a minute and slowly asked him a question.
Lara: "Jonah, what is your little brother's name." I said while scarily looking at him.
Jonah: "Oh, I never told you or the rest about my brother his name.." but before he could tell me his brother's name Roth called us to get on deck to meet our new crewmate.
Roth: "come on, you two, didn't I call you guys a while ago to come onto the deck to greet the new guy." he said while entering Jonah's room. When I heard his words, I forgot my question earlier and started walking upstairs.
When we reached the deck of the ship, I saw a bunch of familiar faces like Alex, Grim, Reyes, etc.. but one person who looked excited was Sam, who had a grin on her face while looking at the black hummer that was parked nearby. I walked towards her to ask a question.
Lara: "who are you so excited to meet." I said while suspiciously looking at her
Sam: "Oh… Just some famous camera operator who decided to come aboard." she said while having a wicked smile on her face. I looked at her with confusion on my face.
Lara: "I didn't know you are acquainted with a famous cameraman." I said while suspiciously looking at Sam, who just giggled at my words.
Sam: "Oh, you might know this cameraman too." she said while laughing at me. But before I could ask who she is talking about, my attention was drawn toward the black hummer. The door opened and revealed someone I didn't want to see. That man looked at me and gave a dreamy smile on his face. He walked boarded the ship; his burning gazed burned my skin as he walked closer towards me.
I looked at Sam, who was grinning from ear to ear. Then I realized who is the cameraman was. I wanted to run away from this situation, but before I could run, the man I once loved was right in front of me.
Joseph: "it has been a long time since I last have seen you, Lara..."
