Chapter 35: Two Strangers
After visiting Alice's lab, Haru and I went back home. Haru is still excited about getting a new mother even though I don't know her full name. I looked at my left bionic arm and thought of the new modes that Alice has added.
Joseph: "I don't know any use for the hidden blades she added. I have my blood magic to make me a hunting knife; maybe I could use it in public." I was thinking of any use for the hidden blades while driving, but before I could think any further, I felt like someone was following us. I looked at the side mirror and saw a black van tailing us. "Haru, when we get back home, make sure to get into your room and put a sound and protection barrier, alright."Haru looks at me with confusion.
Haru: "Why, Papa, did I do something wrong," she said while her eyes teared up.
Joseph: "No, you didn't do anything wrong we just have a guest that is coming to our cafe." I said while hiding a death glare toward the black van behind us. "Our guest will be talking about adult stuff, and you don't want to hear us talk about those right, honey."
Haru: "Okay, Papa, make sure you have to head back to sleep after your adult talks with your guest." she said with a smile on her face. I smiled back at her and nodded; I went back to slowly driving the motorcycle towards our cafe, not alerting them.
When we reached the cafe, I unlocked the cafe and left the entrance unlocked. Haru ran upstairs towards her room. I went toward the counter where I took orders and cooked at the same time. I opened one of the cabinets below the table and saw a small safe with a keypad. I typed in the passcode and saw one Satin Nickel M1911A1 with an attached suppressor. I took out the gun and two extra mags from the safe.
After preparing myself, I heard the door open and saw two men dress in black suits with a weapon on hand. I look at them, waiting for them to talk. But unfortunately, they didn't speak but raised their guns at me. I took cover behind the cover, waiting for them to unload all their bullets.
When I heard the guns run out of ammo, I jumped out of cover and shot at them. I hit one of them on the shoulders while the other dodge on time. Without letting them rest, I ran towards them and used my hidden blades and cut the throat of the guy I shot on the shoulders ending his life while I left the other one intact but a severed leg. I looked at the guy I didn't kill and interrogated him.
Joseph: "Who sent you here?" I said with a menacing tone to my voice while pointing my hidden blade against his stomach. The man stayed quiet for a while before screaming in pain as I slid my hidden blade against his abdomen. "Are you going to talk, or do I have to cut more parts of your body."
???: "end me already; you won't get anything out of me." he said with a fanatic smile on his face. When I hear his words, I point my blade at his chest. I was about to cut more skin off from this man when I saw part of a tattoo on his chest. I opened his chest and saw the Illuminati symbol on his body; my instinct rang warning bells around me. I looked at the man who was crazily smiling at me. He said his final word before ending his life.
???: "we're coming after you, Mr. Maiava," he said before biting something inside his mouth, ending his life. I looked at the dead corps and thought about his words. I let it go and called Himura.
Joseph: "Yo, Himura, can you get trusted SCP personnel to clean up my place? There has been an unexpected guest that came to my cafe." I said dangerously while looking at the corps.
Himura: "oh, is it the Trinity again. SCP personnel are coming to clean up your place." he said while sighing.
Joseph: "Not this time, it is the Illuminati that attacked me." I said while cleaning my gun and putting it back to the safe under the counter.
Himura: "how is that even possible; Trinity has increased your bounty, but thought they go after you the Trinity has a different target, which I do not know. Illuminate has been inactive for years now why would they go after you." He said with confusion in his voice. "The Dragon syndicate is active this year, and they are after something in the Bermuda Triangle that all I know about them."
Joseph: "whatever they are doing, they better not go after me; if the three factions wanted to touch my family, I would show them hell." I said with a menacing look on my face. "Himura, make sure my cafe is clean for tomorrow," I said before hanging up.
I looked at the time and saw that it is already 10 pm. I still need to wake up early tomorrow to open up the cafe. Head towards my room ready to sleep, I forgot to take my medication, so I thought that I would have another nightmare, but no, I instead dreamed about the woman I saw this morning hugging her. My face was getting near hers, our lips almost overlapping together. But before that happened, I woke up to the alarm clock.
With an annoyed look on my face, throw the alarm off the table. I begrudgingly got up and saw my little brother standing up high and mighty. I talk to myself to calm myself down.
Joseph: "calm down, Joseph, you need to focus on your family, not the woman you just met yesterday." I said while slapping both cheeks to get my head thinking straight. I got off the bed and changed into my casual clothes for work.
I headed downstairs and prepared some cooking material for the cafe while doing that I saw someone standing in front of the door. I looked at the time and saw that I had a minute left before opening up my cafe, so I headed toward the entrance and unlocked the door, and greeted the customers. But instead of a regular customer, I saw the woman in my dreams literally.
Joseph: "Lara…" I whispered to myself. As if she heard me call her, she turned around and stared at each other in surprise.
