The Woman I Bumped Into
Another year has passed. Haru has been trying to get me to date the women she has been asking. It's kind of her to think of me and get me to be happy, but right now, I just don't know if I could go out with anyone. Keeping secrets from your significant other is also a bad thing to do in a relationship, and I have lots of secrets to keep.
I am currently waiting for Haru to come downstairs so we could go to Alice's new classroom she is getting from the UCL and fix my arm again. Haru came downstairs with Mr. Wiggles on her head, we headed toward the garage and got on to my motorcycle while Haru used the sidecar and put on the helmet while holding Mr. Wiggles with her arms.
Joseph: "make sure to use your gravity magic so that you won't fall off Haru." I said while turning on the motorcycle.
Haru: "already done that, Papa," she said while happily petting Mr. Wiggles.
After making sure that she is safely secure in her seat, we headed off toward UCL to find Alice's new classroom.
After a few minute's ride, we were not looking for some parking space, but it didn't take long for me to find one. We went toward the main building of UCL, hoping we could ask someone for directions. Haru ran ahead of me, which I ran toward her hoping to catch up to her.
Joseph: "Haru slow down, or you will bump into someone who is not looking." I said while running after her. While running, I didn't notice two women. One was focused on reading her book, while the other woman tried to talk to her. They were walking towards me, who was focused on catching Haru. I bumped into the woman who was reading, with a quick reflex, I grabbed her waist so she wouldn't fall, but her books were on the ground. When I looked at the woman I just caught from her falling, I was stunned.
The woman has brown hair tied up into a braided ponytail. She has brown eyes that made me drawn to her. She is currently wearing a white shirt with three buttons, skinny brown cargo pants, and a beautiful jade necklace around her neck. When I was out of my stunned state of mind, I quickly let her go.
Joseph: "sorry, I bumped into you, miss," I said to her, who was blushing. She didn't bother talking to me as she went down towards the books on the ground. I quickly went toward them to help her out. "Aah, let me help you out," I said while grabbing some of her books. When only one book was left, I extended my hands towards it but touched the woman's hands who was also going after the last book.
We locked eyes for a few minutes before she broke our gaze and quickly grabbed the book and the books on my hands. After that, she ran off, which didn't get me any time to ask her name. I look at her departing figure with confusion; my emotion right now is a mess. In one part of my brain is to go after her. But the others just say not to go after her. These thoughts have invaded my mind, but before I could make a decision, I was interrupted by Haru, who was hugging me on the back.
I looked at her and saw stars in her eyes as if she saw a new birthday present I got her.
Haru: "Is She my new, Mommy." She said with excitement in her voice. When I heard her call the mysterious woman her new mommy, I almost choked on my saliva. When Haru saw this, she became even more excited. "She is! She is! Papa finally found someone, do you know her name.." Haru kept asking me questions that I didn't answer as I don't know anything about the woman I just met.
I was going to head off and asked some of the people here for direction. But an Asian woman that was together with the woman that ran off talked to me.
???: "Sorry about my friend; she's just shy." she said while scanning me from top to bottom.
Joseph: "I don't mind much. I should be the one to say sorry for bumping into you guys when I wasn't paying attention." I said with guilt on my face. Then I remember I still need to ask the direction to Professor Abbot's class. "Sorry, I need to know where Professor Abbot's class is."
???: "oh, just head towards the British Museum, you will find the engineering building there." she said, pointing the direction I need to head too. When I was going toward that direction, I stopped midway and asked her a question.
Joseph: "sorry for not asking what your name and your friends name?" I said while looking at her.
???: "oh, my name is Samantha Nishimura, and my friend who ran away is Lara.." but before she could finish her word, her friends called her out. She looks at me with an apologetic look. "Sorry I have to go," she said and ran off toward her friends.
I look at her while thinking about the name she told me.
Joseph: "Lara...huh, nice name," I said, daydreaming about meeting her again. I shook my head and headed toward the direction Samantha pointed. Haru was all excited about herring her new "mothers" name. I didn't bother her as we walked toward the British Museum.
