Chapter 16: Chunin exams
After Kurenai told them about the chunin exams they stopped going on any missions and just did some training with Kurenai until it was the day of the chunin exams. Kurenai told them where to go and they made it in time to witness Sasuke saying to take down the genjutsu and then Lee challenging Sasuke to a fight. The fight went exactly like how Ren remembered it going and then he went to the room where the first test was taking place.
Everything went how Ren remembered and now it was time for the paper test. Even though Ren knew he only needed to answer the final question he decided to cheat in the test like everyone else. Since the soul path gave him a one-meter soul he could see in a one-meter radius around him and just copied what Sakura because Ren remembered that she was the top of her class in doing tests when she was in the academy.
After Ren had finished copying all the answers he still had to wait a few minutes until he got the opportunity to answer the tenth question. Ren obviously didn���t put his hand up for and neither did anyone else, but unfortunately since Kiba was on another team someone in his team put up their hand and he didn't get to continue in the chunin exams. Now that Ren had passed the first exam, Anko came through the window and yelled to follow her to the next exam location. Once they made it there Anko began to talk.
"This is the location of the second exam, the 44th training ground. Also known as the forest of death and you will soon learn why it is called that." - Anko
After she said that Naruto taunted her words and she threw a kunai at his cheek, which resulted in Orochimaru in disguise coming behind her and returning the kunai with her tongue. Then Anko gave them a description of how the test works. After she gave the description team 8 got a heaven scroll.
Then they went to the gate and began the exam. Shino spread out his bugs to search and Hinata used the byakugan, Ren didn't want to wait to find someone so he asked All Existence
'All Existence, scan 500 meters around me for anyone with an earth scroll' - Ren
『Scanning for anyone with an earth scroll in a 100-meter radius around the Host. Three people in a 500-meter radius have an earth scroll, the closest team with an earth scroll is Team Shibirel 200 meters away (-500 points, total now 8,460)』
Learning that there was a team with an earth scroll only 200 meters away, Ren tells Shino and Hinata that he thinks they should search in the direction of where that group was. In less than one minute they had found the team and we're now planning an ambush, but before they could fully make a plan one of the members of the team went out to go hunt people, so team 8 decided to ambush them now.
Ren rushed forward at them and made two water clones before reaching them. When Ren was almost in front of them he saw a swarm of bugs coming at them as well. Minoji and Shibire were not expecting to be ambushed so Ren and his clones and the bugs hit them directly. Ren had hit Shibire in the direction of Hinata and told her to finish him off with Shino. Ren and his clones continued to rush Minoji and he couldn't keep up and ended up knocked out in a few seconds, so Ren dispelled his clones. Ren looked back and saw that Hinata and Shino were still fighting Shibire, so Ren picked up the scroll from Minoji and helped them knock out Shibire.
Now that they had both of each scroll they began to make their way to the center building in the forest. As they were making their way there Ren began to sense two powerful auras and realized it was Orochimaru and Naruto fighting. Even though Ren knew he was strong, he knew he couldn't handle Orochimaru and decided to try to avoid Orochimaru as best as he could. Then as a distraction, Ren decided to make six water clones and transform them into two groups that look like his team.
Team 8 hadn't come across anyone yet and from what Hinata was saying only team Baki was nearby. So they all sped up to not in contact with them. It seemed like they would make it to the center building before team Baki, but then a giant sand wave came towards them and they saw team Baki appearing in front of them. Everyone was able to avoid the wave of sand and Ren knew that he couldn't defeat them easily, so he made a plan quickly and told it to Hinata and Shino
"I will go after the boy with red hair, Shino and Hinata you guys go after the girl with a fan and the guy with the puppet." - Ren
After Ren said what to do he activated blood boiling and ran towards Gaara. Ren also dropped the weights that he had on his arms and ankle causing a small explosion on the trees. Then Hinata ran towards Kankurō and Temari while Shino gave support with his bugs. Ren was now in front of Gaara and gave an ax kick at His head, but a shield of sand blocked his kick before it hit him. So Ren started to move around Gaara and do random attacks. It seemed like Ren's speed was almost faster than Gaara's sand shield and with his blood slowly getting hotter he would only get faster.

SilverSerpent Hopefully you guys like how I began the chunin exams, I just didn't really want to focus on the paper exam and more on fighting.
