Chapter 2 < Beast >
Rulle was shock and confused at what transpired. "W t f! did just happened?" He thought, And saw the old weary book on his scaly hand. Somehow he felt something strange looking at the book, Like some kind of connection through mental powers.
He was'nt exactly sure what, But he feels like he can control the book with his thoughts. but that's not what's concerning right now. He needs to know how these happened.
But just as he was thinking, His head suddenly burst into ringing. A terrible pain followed and he screamed while crouching himself to the ground. The book at this point was thrown over to the side vibrating.
Then a flash of light binds his eyes and when he opened them again, He was back as a book.
Triinggg!
A notification rang inside his head and displayed:
[ The creature is stronger than the Host. Host rejected. ]
He was again, confused at what happened. That's when he remembered the sloth touch a page of him and instantly he became the sloth creature.
He was bewildered at first but an idea came out from this, " I must have the powers to possess any creatures!" He thought.
His spirit jump with joy after this discovery. He thought he would have to live his second life as a book forever, And this discovery brought messiah to his heart.
He saw the sloth shivering in fear in ghastly pale condition while kicking its feet on the ground. Afraid to get near the book again.
"Pah! How do you like that!"
"Do you dare to try do it again?!"
He was throwing words at the creature to exert some kind of arrogance. And surprisingly, The creature understood him once more and shook it's head, Drain from its color, Not wanting a second time. He might have learned it's lesson.
He was happy seeing the sloth shivering in fear, But then he remembered how he was rejected and was only able to occupy the sloth body for only a few seconds after that he became a book again." I remember the system said about the creature being stronger than me?"
He took a glance at the sloth-creature with eyes that are as big as a chicken egg, Cowering in fear. "Nahh, I dont think so." He crossed out that idea.

But he was wrong when another ring sounded inside his head and it showed his information.

"Is this.. me?" He was again, a bit surprised.
He saw his level much lower than the sloth-creature's information earlier. Apparently the Scaled sloth was much stronger than him. That explains what the system said.
"But If he's much stronger than me, Then why have'nt i been subjected to it's claw when it tried to kill me a few times earlier?" He thought.
Although he noticed, That despite the book's worn out appearance, the pages looks good as brand new but empty.
That's all goes to say, The materials used on this book must have been durable and tougher enough to withstand the passage of time. After all, the book managed to aged this much perserving the pages inside.
He concluded the pages and the covers are made up off different materials, Assuming that the pages are far more tougher and durable than it's covers. For it to decay to it's current condition, God knows, For how long this book stayed untouched in this cave.
While deep on his thought, The Scaled sloth slowly approached him and he noticed this.
The sloth kowtoed to him, crying and pleading for forgiveness for the disrespect he showed to him earlier. But it still kept a safe distance away from him.
A smile crept up on his imaginary face thinking of an idea.
"Lowly creature, Have you any idea how much insult you have given to me? Do you know who i am? You deserve death!" Rulle bluffs himself to look and sound imposing like a supreme deity.
"Wuwuuwuu!.." The sloth cried in response. Having fear struck down to his soul earlier, It has long lost its pride.
Seeing this, The book was holding himself from laughing. "Well, If you serve me well. I might have the heart to spare your insignificant life!" He said.
The sloth understood him and without showing any more disrespect to the grace he was bestowed to spare his life, He hurried and kowtoed even more, Banging it's head on the ground.
"Hehehehe atleast this dumb thing knows what's good for him" He thought.
"Lift me up" He ordered the sloth to lift him up. But when the sloth heard this, It shivered non stop, Hesitating.
"Lift me up!"
The sloth heard him and noticed the displeasure coming from his voice. It slowly and steadily approaches him and when he was about a few inches from grabbing the book, It hesitated once more.
"HURRY UP!"
The creature stopped hesitating and quickly grab the book and lift it up in the air for the third time. But this time it didnt dare to look directly at the book and it closed its eyes.
He saw this and he couldnt help but laugh inside his head.
"How do we get out of this cave?" He asked the question he was meaning to figure out since earlier.
The sloth heard and understand him and it pointed its one hand to direction.
"Lead the way"
The creature followed his order and began walking to the direction he was pointing to a tunnel. The book already suspected where headed because there's only a single tunnel in the cave.
Soon they arrived at the exit and to his surprise, He was wondering how did the sloth managed to fit in those very small gap with its body?
Just as he was about to ask this question, The sloth pointed at another direction. And there he saw a hole on the ground, Thus it answered to his question before.
"Go" The sloth continued crawling into the hole and soon they made it outside.
But when they made it outside, Both him and the creature screamed and leapt in fright at what they saw.
A monster's gigantic mouth with sharp teeth each like a thick of an arm, Was coming at them frenziedly, Screeching.
"FUCK! GO BACK!" Rulle roared. And this made the sloth-like creature immediately jump back into the hole with the book, And just made it in time.
The monster continued stamping making hoof beats while the earth quakes. And the sound of destroyed trees were heard.
Rulle decided to take a peek outside the hole. But no matter how he ordered the sloth to do as he says, It cowered in fear while shaking. Afraid of the gigantic monster outside.
He wants to force the sloth once more. But that's when a page from the book glowed once more. The next time he blinked, Instantly he found himself at the Scaled sloth's body again.
Rulle was confused how it activated again. He wants to look further into it, But there's another matter at hand.
He carried the book while slowly stretching his head out of the hole to take a peek.
That's when he was able to take a proper look at the creature. A 6 meter large strange blue feathered beast with sharp claws and teeth with large fierce eyes. It's appearance was like between a bear and a fox.
This was unlike any other animals he was grown knowing back from his planet. Even the plants ans flowers were different and strange.
Upon closer inspection, A young man on his 20s wearing a long black robe was atop the blue beasts. Holding something stuck on the creature's neck. It was a pair of black sharp dagger with small black flames around around it.
That explains to the monster's behavior. It was in pain. The young man sways left to right like a cowboy riding a rowdy bull but much stronger, While his hands firmly holding the daggers. It looked a little funny, But it was impressive.
"Where did that guy found the dexterity to endure that kind of performance." He thought. Because he believed if it were him on that guy's shoes, He didn't think he would last even a second.
The mess continued for a few minutes, When the guy pulled out something from his pocket. Then a few seconds later, A shiny metal chains shoot out from his palm and went straight to bind and lock the beasts' feets.
The beasts was put to a sudden stop and stumbles on the ground. The impact it made on it's fall was great making a big 'Thud' sound.
The young man jumps from the beast's body while the beast keep staring at him so intenty.
If looks could kill, The man would have died been eaten by beast a thousand times, making a terrible death.
But unfortunately, The beast could only helplessly stare and attempt to claw its mouth at the young man repeatedly, But to no avail.
The young man saw it's attempt and a tall and sharp spear came out of nowhere from his hand.
And this shocked rulle. It was simply out of his imagination.
He took it aim at the beast, making a pose ready to pierce it's thick skull. The beast just fiercely stare at the man, letting out heavy sounds lf breathing.
But at this moment, the book Rulle was holding suddenly shook. Rulle frowned and was confused how it was acting strangely at this moment.
Strangely though, He noticed. It has been a couple of minutes since he occupied the sloth's body. But he wasn't rejected unlike how it was before the first time it happened. And he thought it was strange.
Rulle just ignored the book for now and resumed his eyes on the two. At this point, The young man thrusts his arm with the spear fiercely making a woosh sound. It was so sharp and fast to see.
But just when the spear tip landed it's target. The book shone so brightly and it leapt out of his hand, Dissappearing from his sight and appeared suddenly infront of the spear about to meet it's target.
"Hollyy Sh*t!!" Rulle paled in fright.
While the young man was surprised at the book's sudden appearance. But it was too late to stop him from his powerful thrust. So the spear head continued making it's way fiercely forward without stopping until the tip meets the book.
