"Showtime," Zeel sighed.
With Lara, Richard, Mathias, and most of his soldiers inside the tomb, Zeel didn't have to worry about holding back anymore.
Not that there was much to hold back with his divinities suppressed, and the inconvenience of the restrictions.
"I suggest a mechanical weapon like a gun instead of energy-based weaponry," The Red Queen chimed in before Zeel could run into battle to spend the little energy he had remaining.
Zeel nodded as a silver radiance morphed in the palm of his hand, eventually turning into a Glock 17 with golden inlaid components.
"Stylish," Zeel complimented.
The Red Queen would have been flattered had she not been intentionally trying to impress Zeel.
From their earlier conversation, she could surmise that Zeel was growing suspicious of her actions since he awoke. There was no doubt that he would figure out her involvement in covering for Alice and Elizabeth.
The Red Queen did not intend to hide the incident from Zeel for much longer, but it seemed that openly admitting the incident was no longer necessary.
Luckily, the entire matter could be traced back to Aurolana so her punishment should be mild in comparison.
"Thanks," The Red Queen replied and retreated into Zeel's Mbeamer.
The Mbeamer now had a section that she reserved specifically for herself. Somewhere even Zeel would have to try very hard to access.
Holding the gun, Zeel listened to the encroaching footsteps of a scout. He wasn't situated far enough from the camp, so anyone with a brain could trace the trajectory of the ionic beam he shot.
Given, it was an energy-based weapon instead of a mechanically-based weapon, the laws of physics still applied regardless.
All the soldiers had to do was estimate his direction, and look for a relatively tall tree amongst the bunch of trees.
Zeel's features returned to their original appearance: ruby-red slitted eyes, silver hair, scars in inconspicuous locations.
Now that he was this close to his goal, Zeel felt that a human disguise was no longer required.
With his draconic eyes, Zeel stared at his surroundings and could see everything weaker than himself.
Certain dragon's eyes were able to discern the truth present in everything, and now, Zeel had a unique variant of those eyes. It was many times weaker than an actual dragon, but also convenient for Zeel at the moment.
With his divinities suppressed, the draconic eyes blossomed some more and allowed Zeel to see everything that had less vitality than himself.
A young scout exited the nearby bushes, pointing the nozzle of his gun in every direction he inspected. It was clear that this particular soldier was not as experienced as the others.
Yet, his young appearance and inexperience gained no sympathy from Zeel.
*Whoosh*
The scout heard the faint sound of wind whistling and hurried to point his gun upwards, but it was a bit too late. Zeel jumped from the treetop with his knees downward, shattering the scout's shoulder upon impact.
Still, Zeel was not finished. Seeing that the scout survived their collision, now on the ground, Zeel knelt on the chest of the scout and buried his left knee at the location of the scout's heart.
*Crack*
*Crack*
Zeel stared into the scout's widened eyes as he took his last breath. Zeel would not normally stay in place and watch someone die since he was always sure of his killer techniques, but he was curious.
Zeel was curious if killing now, and killing before he met Alice was somehow different. The conclusion he came to was that killing anyone Alice deemed 'good' made him feel slightly reluctant.
Finished with the first kill, Zeel used his slitted eyes to mentally mark the position of all the other soldiers in the jungle.
Slowly, a three-dimensional diagram was formed in Zeel's mind using his superb calculation ability. Lines started crisscrossing the diagram in Zeel's mind, each line representing a complex network of possible trajectories to kill all soldiers in the vicinity.
Judging that there were five soldiers in the jungle, Zeel converged the trajectories in an instant using 5th Dimensional Protopalpability.
Protopalpability was the Homo-Superior equivalent of Human Ph.D. level Mathematics.
Only, Protopalpability would calculate the possible future branches of a specific event, and use the data accumulated from those thousands of alternate futures to calculate the future with the greatest probability to bring about the desired changes.
While Zeel did this in a mere instant, sweat could be seen accumulated on his brows. With stage three nanites, it was Zeel's calculation zone that did the majority of the calculations involved in the operation.
Zeel took a deep breath and closed his eyes, concentrating his senses on the position of the soldiers in the jungle.
*Pop*
First shot: 760 meters per second. Killed the first soldier 0.3 seconds after being shot. The distance the bullet traveled after exiting flesh was 228 meters.
*Pop*
Second shot: Fired exactly 0.8 seconds after the first shot. Moving at 1020 meters per second. Collided with the first bullet at a 7-degree angle, exactly 1.1 seconds after the first bullet was shot.
The first bullet ricocheted at an angle deviation of 20-degrees, shooting 30 meters north-north-east, successfully penetrating the second soldier.
The second bullet ricocheted and fragmented at an angle deviation of 110-degrees, shooting 20 meters north-north-west, successfully penetrating the third and fourth soldiers that stood next to each other.
Opening his eyes, Zeel smiled bitterly at his performance since there was still one remaining soldier. However, the previous shot was the current limit of his calculation ability without using any runic enhancements.
"I am subpar," Zeel murmured.
Suddenly, the fifth, and final soldier fired a shot at Zeel from a position in the south.
Zeel's body spun around, the gun in his hand fired two bullets successively. Though, if anyone saw the shot, they could argue that both bullets were fired simultaneously.
*Crack*
*Puchi*
The first bullet collided with the bullet shot by the fifth soldier, and the second bullet penetrated the left eye of the fifth soldier. Everything happened in the span of three seconds, and the five soldiers were dead.
"The shot was impossible to make unless you created a smart-bullet or curved the bullets accordingly," The Red Queen stated in Zeel's head.
She knew that making errors was one of the things Zeel most disliked. Oftentimes, Zeel making errors could be attributed to a mess-up on her part, but this time it was all Zeel's fault.
*plop*
Seeing the final soldier dead, Zeel started walking towards the encampment. There were five soldiers guarding the entrance of the tomb, and many slaves chained together at the base of a hill.
Zeel didn't even wait to exit the jungle resorting directly to five consecutive shots.
*Pop*
*Pop*
*Pop*
*Pop*
*Pop*
By the time Zeel exited the jungle, the five soldiers near the entrance collapsed onto the ground. Blood spurting from their chest cavities. The slaves screamed in fright at the sight causing Zeel to pause and turn his gaze in their direction.
Normally, Zeel would have killed all witnesses to limit the variables but he somehow felt that would be distasteful.
Zeel smiled with a perfect curve that dazzled the captured civilians.
"Guess Alice and Elizabeth rubbed off on me," he said.
However, the next moment Zeel's gaze changed.
The captured civilians felt as if they were being watched by a dark abyss of endless torture.
Zeel slowly raised his gun, causing all the captured civilians to flinch, but he simply tossed his gun in their direction and continued forward.
What happened next was none of his concern, but he could already figure out what would happen. After all, Zeel had seen such events countless times before… some of which he even instigated.
Creation is hard, cheer me up!
