Klyscha looked at the soul in front of her confused.
If she was honest, she didn't know what to do with it.
Normally a soul would have Karma, any kind of Karma, having null Karma would be the equivalent to nonexistence, it was an anomaly that wasn't supposed to exist.
Well, but of course 'null' was subjective in the omniverse, a place where all existence converged together, reaching numbers too high to comprehend.
There had been some cases of souls without any karma, to be exact, there had been 32, or simply said 00001 00000 in binary.
And from nearer observation she could see that this was a very newly created soul, about 47 seconds old.
This was probably a newly created soul from her senpai, but why would she do that? There wasn't a need to create any new souls, recycling them in the reincarnation cycle was enough after all.
There was almost no reason to create new souls because you would only get a handful of them and the necessary ingredients were sparse and more often rather random.
But she stopped questioning this situation any further, making it complicated was unnecessary. She should just treat it as a normal soul.
But after a moment Klyscha started to sweat looking at this. Did this thing even have a consciousness yet?
She started to get a bit nervous, because she didn't know what to do, but suddenly a letter came floating for her.
It said:
"Hey, the request of this person, before reforging, was to live a peaceful life again, relearning how the be human again. To whoever Chaos/Thanatos put their responsibilities on, please reincarnate them into a universe with the 'Tier 1' and only 'Tier 1'.
Regards from 'Neutral', from the Underverse"
Klyscha nodded as she read that, she now knew what to do, but just to make sure...
"New soul, can you hear me?"
It just floated up and down, like it did the entire time. She waited for an answer, but nothing came.
She closed her eyes and thought a bit about the reaction, before confirming that this soul indeed had no consciousness, especially considering that it had no memories.
Well, she only had to find a suitable world for the soul now, it was a bit complicated, because only pure tier one universes were allowed and she couldn't really communicate with the soul, but her job was to reincarnate worthy souls and she wasn't going to fail a job entrusted to one of her superiors.
After a while she found a suitable place and put that soul into that worlds reincarnation cycle.
As she saw the soul slowly finding it's place in the cycle she started to pray to the gods that are superior to her for a save first incarnation of that soul.
'May it reach its first Dawn safely.'
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well Chara as that wasn't anything like 'conscious' at the time, but that didn't mean that the part of her soul that governed memories didn't function yet.
It even run with the triple the efficiency of a normal soul, but that wouldn't be enough for a jump start.
What Klyscha didn't notice was that she used primal speech, meaning she used words containing the truth of all language everywhere.
And even though she just said, 'New soul, can you hear me', the soul managed to decipher its meaning, despite knowing anything.
It managed to grasp it's 'profound' meaning, constructed most of its lower languages in an incomplete state, some even almost complete.
And after a while the soul started forming something similar to a consciousness, even before it's birth.
It was already excited to learn all the new concepts it would learn, once born.
And so, the soul safely arrived at the embryo of an unborn child, eagerly waiting for the day it would be born, eagerly awaiting to enjoy the joy of life.
The unborn child could hear it's parents talking through the belly of its mother.
The unborn child could feel the joyous occasion its birth would be.
The unborn child could sense that the love of its parent was the real deal.
The unborn child couldn't wait for its birth, but it knew that it couldn't rush it.
A birth was something that needed time, it's body needed to develop properly, half a month too early was possible, but it entailed unnecessary danger that wouldn't be of use in any way.
It had to be patient for its birth, it had to wait so they could have the best possible arrival into this world as possible.
The soul sighed for its first time, a sigh of impatience. It was still six months left before it's birth.
Too bad it didn't know that this body was supposed to be a miscarriage by early birth, but because this soul was now here a safe birth was absolutely guaranteed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Five and a half uneventful months passed for the unborn soul. During that time, it surprisingly learnt a lot about itself.
Like the fact that it was girl, and she was going to be named Seele after her birth, her surname will be Fujou and she was going to be born in Tokyo, Japan.
Her mother was of German descent and her father of Japanese.
They were a wealthy family, their descendants even reaching back into the Heian period of Japan. They were a special family of priests, tasked with the 'exorcism' of demons.
But the simple truth was that these 'demons' most of the time were just big animals rampaging through the villages of humans, because the enemy drove them out of the territory, sometimes the enemy even experimented on these animals to make them bloodthirsty in the first place and again sometimes they even did that with 'disposable' human, letting them go berserk somewhere in the enemy territory.
Her family was always tasked to fight with the things that normal people were to scared fighting against and to exterminate supernatural appearances, that was the responsibility being a 'Fujou' entails.
But now in the modern era, from the Shōwa period onwards, to be specific, about after the second world war, their family started declining rapidly, losing all off their branch families one after another, until only the main family with their shrine was left.
She also found out that her clan should end with her as the last head of the clan, her grandparents were still adamant about keeping the clan flourishing, but her parents had the opinion that such a hierarchy and system was outdated.
The discussion was still on and she had the bad feeling, also a new emotion she learned through her mother, that she was going to be involved in that struggle once she was born.
She had the feeling that she would get 'headaches' from that.
Well, but there was one special fact about her family left. Since the Heian period her family was always under the command under the current head of the government, which didn't change even to the modern day.
Even now their family was still under the command of the government and had a certain authority in it.
Well, Seele didn't know if this was a good or a bad thing yet, but knowing it early will be useful to her, she just didn't know to what extent yet.
But that was a problem she has to deal with once she was born, worrying before even seeing the world would be pointless after all and so she continued to wait for her desired day of birth.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was only a day left before the birth of Seele, but of course there was a problem in the first place, if in the main timeline she wasn't getting born because of complications.
The complications were a curse casted into the main family in the sengoku period. All future heads of the family shall be miscarried, this curse was diluted thin if there were many candidates for that position but was the strongest if there was only one successor and Seele which was the only one that had the right to inherit would certainly be hit badly from that curse.
Well, it might have been only a tier one universe, but low curses like this even existed in universes like this.
On the day of the supposed birth the scattered curse of the family showed up, all parts trying to make sure that the baby died. Too bad that it was facing someone like her.
The curse in form of a hazy insect swarm penetrated the mothers stomach and tried entering the soul of the baby, were it was ready to do its job, but before it could do anything it was just grabbed by her soul and completely utterly crushed before it could even do anything.
Something like a low curse doesn't even stand a chance in the face of a soul like this and so the contraction started for her mother.
It was finally time for Seele to be born and her birth proceeds smoothly and for the first time in her existence she could see the light of day.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Charlotte Fujou was very happy seeing that her child had a save birth, just seeing her safely carried made her feel happy.
There was a rumor in the family that the children born to be the head of the family had a high mortality rate, especially if there were few in line for that position, she feared that her child would without a doubt die, because this time she was the only one who could inherit the position.
But her prayers were heard, and she was born safely into the world. The doctor even said that the birth went incredibly smoothly, for a moment she was sure that the rumor was just a rumor in the end, but then she remembered all the difficulties she had to go through to reach this point.
Suddenly the door to her hospital room was rapidly opened, a handsome man with sharp facial features, black hair that is brushed backwards, wearing kimono, haori and hakama entered.
It was obviously the father of that child. A young-looking man in traditional Japanese attire.
"Charlotte, our daughter!"
"Calm down, Mitsuru. Our daughter was safely delivered."
Hearing this the rather stern looking man broke out into tears, he feared that his third child might also get miscarried, he also feared for the worst, because the doctors said that his wife won't be able to conceive any children anymore after this, even if the birth was a success.
That was if it went well, if it went badly she might have also died alongside his child, but he was glad. A miracle happened and his third child was more than safely delivered, he couldn't help but break out in tears.
He wanted to hold the baby, but he was stopped by his wife.
"No, dear. Seele didn't take her first breath yet!"
He just noticed that his daughters butt was about to get slapped, so she would start crying for her first breath.
That was a normal procedure, but still seeing this made this overly protective father nervous, he even grabbed the doctor from doing so.
"Dear, stop being so tense, it's for her first breath."
"I know, but as a father who lost two of his children it's still painful to watch."
"Stop being a wuss and just let it happen."
"I don't want to!"
And so, the married couple started to bicker. The doctor felt very out of place as the scene played out in front of him and he certainly didn't know what to do.
These were high priority patients her after all, in other words these people were VIPs in this hospital, so he felt awkward speaking out.
Suddenly he a soft laughing sound came from below him, he looked down and saw that the baby in his arm started laughing, probably from the commotion her parents were making. That was a first for him, seeing a freshly born baby laugh for their first breath that is, then he noticed it.
The baby was already breathing!
"Mr. and Mrs. Fujou, look! You baby is laughing, she is taking her breath!"
The couple stopped arguing and looked at their baby, she really was laughing. Seeing this made the couple delighted, it was a rare thing for babies to laugh for their first time. For all they know it was something that never have happened before.
They were excited, with this gesture they felt that this child had to be special in some kind of way, they truly believed, especially because they were Shinto priest they believed that their prayers were finally heard by a god and that thanks to that god a special child was born.
They couldn't wait to see their daughter grow up to be a beautiful lady.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, sadly their expectation didn't quite get fulfilled.
Twelve years since her birth passed and she grew a bit different than expected and with 'a bit' was meant 'a lot'.
Don't make any false assumption. She grew up fast, very fast and proper. She started turning around, crawling, walking and even reading way before her peers did.
She was a bright, gentle child that followed the traditions of the family her parents suggested her to do.
The two of them brought her along to visit their grandparents and the rest of the family as she was four, the age where she already could read.
By the family meeting the family showed her various 'hobbies' to suggest her to do, and with 'hobbies' were 'the usual things a Japanese filial daughter should learn' meant.
Like flower arrangements, tea ceremonies, calligraphy, an instrument, embroidery, etc.
Mitsuru couldn't believe what his family was trying to force his daughter into and got angry because of that, his wife had to hold him back before the situation could escalate, but the damage was done and most of the relatives were angry.
Well, if their daughter didn't suddenly show such amazing skill in all of these subjects. Before they noticed their daughter copied each movement she observed in these traditions and finished them nearly as good as the adults.
Seeing this made the relatives very happy of course, but Seele made an action as mystifying as her previous actions.
She pulled a pair of scissors out and destroyed her previous products.
She showed her relatives a condescending smile and opened her mouth to say one of her rare words. The girl could already read, but she rarely was talking at all. Sometimes the married couple contemplated if the child was a mute, but the few words she said here and there disconfirmed that.
But now she was speaking out a full sentence, something that didn't happen yet.
"The work aunts and uncles showed me don't reflect any virtue that these disciplines were meant to symbolize. As that they are ugly and show the decline of this family and don't deserve to exist in the first place. It is the right decision that Fujou family clan ends with me."
The mouth of all of these relatives were agape. They couldn't believe what kind of words left the words of a four-year-old child and what they also couldn't believe that this child was insulting their skills and honor greatly.
One of the aunts that was known to have a very short fuse even ran towards her to 'teach her a lesson'. She ran toward her and was about to grab her, seeing this his father tried to intervene and even though his body was very trained, because he was part of the army he couldn't cover the distance to reach his daughter in time for letting her get out of this unscathed.
Everyone expected to her a loud and resounding 'clap', but that never happened.
Seele just dodged that hand and pointed her scissors towards the eyes of her aunt. She realized in which kind of situation she was in, backed off in fear.
Seele just dropped the scissors and then stood up, walking to the seat of her grandfather. The seat of the head of the clan.
Everyone watched in anticipation what the child will do as she walked towards the seat in silence, until she reached it.
Once she arrived there...
...nothing happened at all. She just stood silently in front of him, starting to blush greatly. After a moment of everyone chuckling after they experienced such an enormous gap Moe, she finally started to do something.
She tapped her grandfather's legs and showed him that she wanted him to bow down, so she could whisper into his ears.
The old man following her request on a whim decided to humor her and so he bowed down to listen what she had to say.
After a short while she finished what she wanted to say and her grandfather sat straight up again, this time looking her with big eyes. Everyone wondered what she might have asked of him, until he suddenly busted out of laughter and couldn't contain himself anymore.
Now they wondered even more what she said, but he just said that it was a 'private matter', before proceeding to lift her up, let her down on his lap and patting her head.
Everyone was surprised by the action, but they didn't want to go against the old man.
After the meeting ended and everyone left Seele told her parents what she requested.
She requested to get the old man to teach her how to use the various weapons, because that was the only 'genuine' thing that was performed in the family.
Training for the sake of growing as a person, not mindless boasting in front of people, trying to impress people she didn't like with skills she didn't need, using time she doesn't have.
She saw it as a waste to learn from all of them, but the movement her grandfather performed, she found observing him doing them genuinely beautiful, even though the old man was obviously getting rusty at the techniques.
Her parent started to laugh as she told them that. They were surprised that she had the same opinion as them on this matter.
They wanted to end this family, not because they didn't want to inherit it, but because the family was declining, and all of the cousins and aunt and uncles were already losing the root of why this family existed.
The reason why the Fujou family lasted for a millennium.
They patted her on the head, just to notice that she was blushing intensely.
"And really liked how grandmas was looking in kimonos. So, I asked grandpa for a lot of them for me."
They were confused at what she said, until they noticed a limousine with the old man in it, carrying very many children kimono.
They didn't think much of it on that day, but the girl continued to wear kimonos, even when nothing special was going on.
She was wearing them when she went sleeping, went to the daycare, went outside, inside, even in the bathroom.
She wore them 24/7, but they let her do that, after all she looked very graceful and elegant in them and so that wasn't really problem.
The problem was that she started shanking people for their money.
As she first enrolled into primary school she was getting harassed by her classmates for being a mute. That continued on for a couple of more years, until she finally snapped and just randomly extorted money from one of her bullies.
Which was an unpleasant surprise for everyone.
Now she is somehow wearing leather jackets over her kimonos, breaks out of the house at night and is now randomly shanking people at night.
""Where did we go wrong in rising our daughter!""
Well, now was the time for her junior high enrollment after all.
(Can you already guess the universe she is in?)
Story start!
Oh, and if you want to call me out on my bullshit with the words, tell that to the Wuxia concept that a damn 'sentence' contains the truth to look through everything if 'comprehended' completely.
That is a thing that comes more than often enough and is complete and utter bullshit.
So, I am also going to use it.
