My first friend

"Sure where do you want to plan out the project? Maybe in the library at school after school each day if you want." I asked hesitantly

"Well we could but I usually do it at each other's houses because mine is close by, is yours?" She inquired inquisitively. I looked at her terrified what if she didn't want to be my friend if she knew that I was an orphan. Why would she not want to be my friend even if I was an orphan. If she rejects me because I am an orphan then she is not the right friend for me.

"I would want to do it at your house but mine would definitely be more quiet." I told her. She looked at me and her eyes widened.

" Can we do it at your house because I have three brothers and two sisters and they are all very noisy. If we go to your house I will finally have some quiet time. Wait maybe we can have a sleepover. I will call my parents and ask if it is okay as long as your parents are okay with it." This plan

Sounded amazing. I couldn't wait to do the sleepover. But I would have to tell her that I had no parents

"Well if it is okay with you but I live alone in my own apartment because I am technically an orphan but I am a part of a government project that sees how well orphaned children do in a home by themselves." I explained. Lily looked at me with wide eyes and a big sime on her face.

"I am sorry that you have no parents but being at  your house is no big deal in fact I was going to have to tell you that my parents are on a business trip this month so it would just be us and my brothers."

"Alright then I guess you want to come over to my house." I hesitantly asked, worried that I had the wrong Idea.

"Yass, that sounds great." she exclaimed excitedly.

And for the rest of the period we chatted about the project  and how we were going to explain it to the judges. I started to realize that this is what it means to have a friend. Everytime she gave me a compliment I would get a warm fuzzy feeling and I realized that this class was the one for me.
