Elize watched Zack turn towards the witch, avoiding her with all his efforts. He looked flustered for a second, but that disappeared from his features in a flash. She could feel the tumult of emotions that was raging inside him through their bond. He was anything but composed, opposed to the way he looked on the outside. 

Yet, she knew that the last thing that he wanted was comfort from her. And that realization hurt more than she could fathom. He was not hiding from her, but the truth confused and saddened her. She didn't understand the cause of his distance. Was he still in a misunderstanding over the things that had happened in Zhashui? She wondered. For a moment, she regretted falling for the fox's provocation.
