Chapter 228: Relax And Enjoy Yourself

Claire freaked out all the way up to the home study but in the end her worry was for nothing. It went as well as it possibly could. Alex stuck to his fake backstory in an astonishingly realistic way, infusing the right amounts of emotions into his voice at appropriate times. 

She was completely floored. He could be an amazing actor when he had reason to be. 

Once the home study was complete and the social worker who took it sent it over to Marilyn's office for review they were called in to look over it and correct any potentially wrong information. It took about an hour to read through it all and make sure it was good to go before Claire, Alex, and Marilyn's boss signed off on it. 

She was officially approved to adopt Ethan once all of his official identity paperwork was taken care of, allowing them to take him on vacation out of state. That had been so much more stressful than it needed to be.
