Chapter 214: Just For You And Me

On Christmas Eve Claire brought a goodie platter to work and left it in the breakroom as planned. Everybody seemed to appreciate that. She was glad that her stunt to get the FBI off her tail hadn't made things awkward with her coworkers. If anything, it seemed to strengthen their bonds. 

At the end of her shift she headed home and changed into her gym clothes so she and Alex could go train for a while before dinner. She planned on skipping her training tomorrow so it still needed to be done today. Marathons didn't happen without commitment. 

His training plan had resulted in marked improvement already. She found herself far less winded at the end of every workout now. 

When they got back to the house Alex was about to go shower first but Claire stopped him. "Hang on. I have something for you." She rummaged around under the tree until she found it and handed it over.
