One never understood life inside headquarters. Why did he have to follow the rules? Why couldn't he ever go outside? Why did he have to train all day every day?
Two and Three, who were the closest in age to him, never seemed to have as many questions as he did. They didn't care; they accepted things at face value. This was simply the way things were so there was no point questioning it.
He didn't like that. There had to be answers for everything or there wouldn't be a point to having questions.
The trainers didn't like that mindset of his. One got punished frequently for speaking out of turn. He was strong, fast, and quick on the uptake but the one thing the trainers could never get out of him was unwavering compliance.
He was growing terribly bored of it all by the time he was old enough to go on his first mission at age fifteen. He accompanied an older agent called Gorilla to see how things worked in the field on a job in New Jersey.
