Xiang Peng appeared from the other side of the door about ten minutes after going in. Seeing as how she managed to complete the test within this short frame of time, I assumed the real Gatekeeper wasn't that hard. She seemed to have defeated the Gatekeeper with minimal effort, as she didn't appear to be sweaty or disheveled at all. As expected of an Ancestral Mage.
"Heya, I'm back," she said with a flirtarious wink. "You two miss me? Sure you did."
I was too lazy to correct her, so I just ignored her question and instead asked my own.
"How was the Gatekeeper?"
"Huh? Why ask me? You've already fought it for yourself earlier, no?"
No...but I couldn't tell her that, obviously.
"I'm asking for your thoughts on the fight. Was it difficult for you?" I continued, making sure not to make it look like I hadn't fought at all.
Heya everyone. Cyclxne here.
So, I finally decided to reveal a little about Xiang Peng's past. As a minor spoiler, the side chapter(s) for this volume will be explaining her past in full detail: what exactly happened, etc. Right now I only gave a glimpse of the general idea, but the whole story is a lot more.
I'm gradually revealing more and more info on the characters. Xuan Kai's full story is already out in the open for all of you to see, and I've also written a little on Feng Mian, Qing Yue, and the Yu sisters. Lan Xiao Su also got her part, and so has Obsidia and Amane. Since Mei Gui doesn't really count as she doesn't have her full memories at this stage of the story, that really only leaves Flaria. I know she's been out of the story recently, but don't worry. She will come back soon - stronger than ever.
Anyway, that's all from me for now.
And as always, I'll talk to you all in the next chapter~
