Chapter 4: Episode 2: The Eclipse Festival (Part II)

One more day, until the Eclipse Festival and all the preparations are done. I met up with Lu, Lazarus, and Roselina to have a secret picnic together, but I was still in a daze, worried about Silver. Lu and my retainers looked at me with concern. Roselina takes a cookie and holds it to my face.

"Oh my, what shall I do with this last chocolate fudge cookie, Master~, " she said waving the cookie in front of me.

"THE CHOCOLATE FUDGE IS MINE!"

The gang laughed as I ate the cookie whole. I got a little flustered, but then Lazarus laid down at my lap, signalling me that I can play with his hair. I can always count on Lazarus for calming down, whether be food, hugs or hair. I began to play with Lazarus' hair as I began to drink my tea.

"You're worried about Silver still, Sol " Lu asked, trying to start the conversation.

"Yeah... Guess I'm just not use to him not lecturing me or teasing me or him just not... being here at all without me..."

"Well Master, he is coming back tomorrow, the Eclipse Festival will start then and we can all spend time together afterwards, " Roselina added, "You know, when you and Lady Luna are done with the opening part of the Festival."

I was interrupted by a small scream in the distance. Someone calling for me? But who is-? Oh no... it's my siblings...

"Hey Solaris, it's been awhile, how have you been?"

"We both came back home early to celebrate the greatest achievement our little brother has ever done for both our home and the Dark Kingdom."

The one on the left is Prince Sky, the eldest son of the Light Kingdom. He is the one who will rule Light Kingdom when our father retires from being King, but he's an okay guy, though he does nag me about Princess Luna, since they are both engaged and he gets jealous when I'm around her. I gave her up both for him as well as the Light and Dark Kingdom's futures, cause I know how loyal he is, and it's hard to find a loyal partner like my older brother. The one on the right is Princess Star, the only daughter of the Light Kingdom and my twin sister. She practically reads me like a book. She's smarter and way better at magic than me, it was no surprise she became father's favourite. She handles the armies as the royal tactician. She's better than me in every way, but good person. So in summary, I love-hate my siblings.

"I'm fine, but are you sure you two don't have anything else?"

"Nope, we're in the clear as of right now until the the day after tomorrow, " Sky explained, "We just wanna spend some quality time with you, since we haven't done that in awhile."

"Well... okay then! You can hang out with me, Lu and my retainers after the open ceremony! Are both of you guys bringing your retainers too?"

"Nope, they are replacing our duties for tomorrow, " they both said smiling with a bright aura.

"SO YOU GUYS DID HAVE WORK! FOR THE LOVE OF FANTASIA, YOU CAN'T JUST THROW YOUR ROYAL DUTIES TO YOUR RETAINERS, WHAT WOULD FATHER SAY?!"

"We can make some mischief too, you know, " Star said with a devious smirk, "Your not the only one in the family with tricks up their sleeves."

Sky pits his hand to my head, "Besides I'm sure he'll let this slide since it's the Eclipse Festival."

I sighed. I wasn't gonna win this argument. I knew if I kept this conversation up, they'll just keep persuading me until I give in, with those puppy dog eyes. They are stubborn like that. But they don't get much breaks anyway. And I couldn't say no to them, even if I had the heart to.

"Okay okay, fine! You two win, we'll all go together."

My siblings hugged me as we continued with the picnic. Then the next day roles around, me and Lu did our part for the opening. I met up with the others and had a blast eating food, watching theatre plays and even playing the festival games for prizes. The festival was almost over, with only final event left, with still no sign of Silver. Why? Everyone said he already came back, but I never saw him once the entire day. Is he trying to avoid me? I wandered off from the rest of the group to get some air. But...

"Who's there? Show yourself!"

Silence. Complete utter silence. When the wind began to blow I felt it. A physical presence. I took out my sword and began to attack.

"WOAH! WOAH! WOAH! Calm down! It's me, " a familiar voice screamed.

Looking at the face carefully it was clearly Silver.

"S-Silver?! Holy Fantasia... I almost cut your neck three times! Don't scare me like that! What are you doing here? I thought you were at the festival."

"The festival, " he asked in confusion.

"Yeah, the festival? The others told me you came back already, so I figured you were already there."

"O-Oh right! The festival, " he said while looking away from me, "I was suppose to help out with something at the castle before I met up with everyone. Don't suppose you could take me-."

Before he could say anything else, I put the sword close to his neck again.

"Who are you?"

He started to hesitate, "W-What are you talking about, Prince Solaris-"

"Shut up! Reveal yourself or I'll be forced to slice that head off from your body!"

"You wouldn't dare hurt your own retainer, " he said as he began to look serious.

"I can, and I would. You got ten seconds to confess. 10. 9. 8. 7. 6. 5. 4. 3! 2! 1-!!!"

He changed form revealing to be a assassin from the Masquerade Guild, a assassination guild that uses mostly illusions and trickery like thieves. I put the sword away before he and a group of his friends that I felt were nearby began to attack me. I fought with both my swords and my fists, elegantly alone. Everyone except the leader was down, and I gave them a chance for mercy, but I was about to be attacked again from behind. That is until the real Silver saved me, in his giant wolf form.

"Silver!"

"These ruffians don't deserve your mercy, Master, " he said as he changed back to his human form, "Would you like me to take out the trash?"

"Just tie them up and take them to the dungeon. I'll deal with them when the festival is over."

"As you wish, Master, " he said as his grey eyes began to glow deviously.

After the assassins were apprehended and both Silver and I took them to the castle's dungeon, he stayed silent. Until finally, he spoke.

"You are a big handful, Master, you know that, " he said staring at me intensely, "And here I was, getting the Wolfkin Tribe to help with a special surprise for your festival."

I looked at him confused. A special surprise for the festival? What kind of surprise? And as if he read my mind, he took my hand to guide me to that surprise.

"It was... something you told me about before... when you were smaller ..., " he admitted, "So I went back to the Wolfkin Tribe to... make some trial and errors before the final product."

There were a lot of things that didn't exist in this world, that I asked as a kid if it did. Which idea caught his attention that he had to be gone for week?

He took me to the dance event, where we met up with Lu, my siblings and my other retainers, and I danced with each and every one of them, until I got to Silver. The final dance. It was a slow dance, yet magical. When the song ended, a huge blast full of colours shot up in the air.

"You made fireworks?"

"Oh so that's what they are called, Master. I just called them Rainbow Sparks, " he laughed a bit.

"They're beautiful. I love them."

"Accept this as my apology to you, Master " he whispered, "I never intended to hurt you about your feelings for Lady Luna... you even went as far to lie to my face... to hide your emotions... I'm sorry."

"Is that what this was about...? You've always went far and beyond when it came to apologizing, but I'm okay Silver. Everything is okay, no need for apologies. Thanks for the Rainbow Sparks. This was the greatest gift you gave me so far."

He smiled as he got closer to my face, "Of course, Master."

He was then stopped by Roselina and Lazarus who dragged him away from me. My siblings were also dragged, by our father who found out about them slacking off. Only me and Lu were left to enjoy the final day of the Eclipse Festival together.
