"How about I treat you to a drink and you treat mine?" Asked the woman who was in actuality was a witchess, Hana. After the last time that her skin was destroyed as she wasn't able to sustain her face with potion, she used a new face, a face she had gotten from one of the human girl she had killed this afternoon.
Jung Hwa leaned back to the chair, replying, "Sounds better." perhaps the witchess thought that he didn't know she was a witchess and that he had fallen for her but Jung Hwa was no fools like the humans or the vampires she had caught and killed.
Once the drink comes, the witchess didn't held back and requested a drink after drinks for Jung Hwa and like a little lamb Jung Hwa feigned his foolishness to drink the alcohol he was served and play a pretend drunk.
The witchess smiled widely, saying, "Should we go to a different place now?" her hand slowly slide to his hands.
"Why not?" grinned Jung Hwa his pretend drunk seemed to have taken a bait.
The two left the club and the witchess led Jung Hwa to a path that grew less with people. The night was moonlesss and the place where his shadowed laid down was engulf to nothing. As they continued to walk, Jung Hwa finally say,
"Where are we going?" his smile hadn't faded that made the witchess to assume that he was stupidly drunk.
"Where else? To hotel of course." and the women turned right to a narrow alley, the place where she often brought the humans or vampires to hunt to the narrow alley.
"But I could see no hotel from here, you are not bringing me to a third rate hotel, aren't you? I don't like third rate things." stated Jung Hwa.
The witchess rolled her eyes. She had seen Jung Hwa first as a reasonable man and felt pity for him that he would die soon with such a handsome face but the narcissistic remarks he kept on making made her retract all her previous claims.
"Of course I will not bring you to a third rate hotel," she cackled, her voice coming like an old woman. "I will bring you to your death!!" after her statement, the witchess pulled the knife she hid beneath her dress pulling it toward Jung Hwa's neck when he jumped back and evaded the attack.
"Finally. You made me feel tired with all the lures and traps."
A hint of surprise colored the witchess's beautiful face who looked at the man surprised that he was able to avoid the knife she struck him with. Then she looked up to see of how Jung Hwa's eyes had turned red and hissed, "A vampire!"
Jung Hwa shrugged his shoulder lazily, "Just notice?"
"Seems like you now who I am. Was that all an act?" The witch questioned her eyes were eerie and so was the wide grin she pulled from one ear to another. "If it was you should have finished me earlier and now you are too late."
"How sweet but I am not planning to go on ease to you." Jung Hwa replied, his hand pulling the gun he hid on his side.
"Vampires, arrogant as always." The witchess's smile fell on her lips she looked at him in a petrifying gaze and threw her knife to his neck.
In ease, Jung Hwa bent his neck to dodge the knife when the witch had charged forward with another knife toward his neck. With one hand, Jung Hwa caught her wrist and squeezed tightly for a crisp sounding noise to come.
Hana clicked her tongue pain surging and she yelled, "Damn you!" In a split of second, the witchess pulled other knife with her other hand which made Jung Hwa to kick the witchess and threw her feet apart and crash to the wall.
Hana clawed her hands to stand up wincing as she held her ribs which felt broken after the kick she received from Jung Hwa, in a realization after the attack, she growled. "You are not a normal vampire! You are a pureblood!"
"Never said I wasn't." he shrugged and tapped his shoulder with the back of his gun.
A certain silver glimmered from his gun, catching it, Hana said, "You are with the associates! What did you come here for?!"
"I came to find someone, a human girl. Perhaps do you remember ever bringing one?"
"Who knows." snickered Hana, "There were too many humans girl we had killed. We can't be possibly bothered to remember each one!" she growled and resumed her attack her right hand worked faster than ever as her left hand had been broken.
As Hana's hand had grew limp, her attack grew weaker and more predictable. When there was a knife aimed at his neck, he caught the blade and threw it to graze Hana's cheeks.
"Was that all?" he chuckled, his provocation triggered the witchess's anger and she threw more knifes toward him, aiming for all his vitals.
As Jung Hwa evaded all the attacks, the knifes sank deep to the cemented walls showing her powerful force as she flunked the knifes haphazardly. On the far corner, Jung Hwa hadn't used his gun, he merely jumped and hopped around avoiding the knifes which Hana also noticed.
"Hesitating aren't you? Is it your first time to kill anyone?" asked the witchess, she then bring her knife to her mouth, her tongue which was long and brittle elongated from her mouth and licked the blade which was a disgusting scene to Jung Hwa's eyes.
"What would first kill and second kill have any different?"
"Foolish child for not knowing the differences. With generations passed, vampires became no different than clueless humans after all." Hana threw her head back and echoed of laughter knocked from her mouth. "You just don't know how many of your brethren have been killed with this knives. The vampires they are all arrogant but it was what make them worth to kill. Are you interested to hear how they died?"
Jung Hwa rolled his eyes, "Not really." then he drew his frown when he heard the witchess muttering something beneath his breath while throwing two knives simultaneously.
Jung Hwa took a step back, avoiding the knives and disappeared into a thin air to appear right in front of the witchess, taking her in surprise. Before she was able to finish her muttering, Jung Hwa took her neck and squeezed her throat...
"I have thought to at least spare your mouth so you would be able to answer my questions but seemed it was useless." without hesitation, Jung Hwa held Hana's jaw and with a tight grasp he ripped apart her jaw and threw it aside. The sight was horrendous that would able to make one vomit from the view but Jung Hwa wasn't affected the least.
Hana would have let out a stinging howl of pain if she had her mouth but what came after her upper face was flesh and streaks of blood which looked ugly. Loosing all her power, her beautiful face peeled falling down like pieces for her true ugly nature to show up.
"How ugly," stated Jung Hwa, the word that witchess like her detest the most. With her last power, Hana pulled subtly a flask from her sleeve and pulled the cap. She would pull her smirk of she had mouth and swung her hand when she felt pain and the flask was thrown meters away from her.
Jung Hwa who held his gun to the witchess hand wasn't the one who had thrown the potion flask. He turned his face, finding Han Seoyeon had kicked the witchess's hand. Her eyes were deliberately avoiding to see the gore in front of her and she felt fear when she imagined how the woman's face would look like without her jaw and tried not to think of anything.
"You came." said Jung Hwa, grinning.
"Was it wrong for me to come?" she asked.
"Of course not, thank you for saving me." he said but Han Seoyeon knew that even without her help he would be able to stop the witchess in time.
"What will we do now?" she asked, "you- you ripped her jaw how would she be able to talk?" they still needed Wan Seulgi's location and from the state of the witchess she had seen from afar, it would not be possible for her to ever talk again.
"Dear, we are not pulling information from her mouth, we only need her to lead her path to where your friend is which mean they don't need their jaw." the smell of blood was deep in the alley and there was the thought that she didn't want to see a jawless woman.
When Jung Hwa was done checking all the weapons the witchess could possibly have, he found flask of potions hidden underneath her sleeve. Using a fabric of the witchess's dress, he tied the woman's hand in the back.
Once the witchess had her hands bound, Jung Hwa took the potions he found from the witchess and passed it over to Han Seoyeon. Han Seoyeon then looked down, on her hand was the flasks Jung Hwa had told her to hold on.
"What do you think this is use for?" The flask had potions in colors of green, purple, and deep black.
"Don't know." said Jung Hwa, his hand pulling the witchess's shoulder. As the witchesses built their lair in a secluded people, it saved him some trouble from being found out by people that he was dragging a witchess in the fashion she was in by her shoulder.
"But for sure it isn't something good once it is used." and she couldn't agree less to him. The colors of the potions were ominous and somewhere in her heart told her that the potion isn't something anyone should come in contact with as it would be dangerous.
The witchess suddenly stopped when they reached to a place which was a large abandoned building. Seeing that the witchess have stopped, Jung Hwa hummed to see the place, murmuring, "So it's here." Places like these have less people visiting and was a perfect place for the witchess who often brought the humans or witchesses they had hunted.
"How should we enter? I can't see that a witch would greet us warmly." Han Seoyeon said. As they didn't know how much witches was inside, they couldn't exactly come from the main entrance and alarmed the witchess. Or so was what she had thought when Jung Hwa raised his right leg.
Han Seoyeon turned her face seeing his long legs pulled and kicked the wooden door of the abandoned building for the door to break down and opened.
Although Jung Hwa hadn't seen the expression Han Seoyeon made he could feel her somewhat mixed eyes and spoke without looking, "Pardon, my legs are too long." his face feigned a sarcastic expression.
Han Seoyeon couldn't understand his dark humor and could only shake her head. As the witchess he held was a pain in the neck, thought Jung Hwa, he left the witchess in front of the door, and of course in a state of unconsciousness.
Entering the building, Jung Hwa could hear the sound of four heartbeats. One his, Han Seoyeon, and two unknown people which either one could possibly be Wan Seulgi's.
"I sensed two more people." he stated and Han Seoyeon noted in her mind. She felt her heart unable to calm down as she slowly get closer to find her dear friend.
