Everyone was stunned to see Grimer make an appearance when its name was mentioned. Warren was surprised that Gan actually had a Grimer, just what had he experienced over one to two days alone? Gan recalled Grimer with a strange smile and pretended that it didn't happen.
"Coming through... make way, someone's been hurt!" Under the strangely quiet situation, they heard and saw three people tending to some man on a stretcher. The injured man's leg had been severely wounded, no, damaged.
"What in the world happened to him?" Gan couldn't help but ask. The man's left leg was bent out of place, it was completely shattered! The man endured the pain, as his face was drenched in sweat while gnashing his teeth.
"The guy stepped on a Geodude and got his leg punched!" The man said no more and rushed off with the group carrying the man.
"Pfft! That idiot should have watched where he was walking." Arlo shook his head and stared at the entrance to Rock Tunnel, he would have to be careful in this place!
"Just remember, that can happen to you, so you better keep watch." Warren shook his head.
"Okay, let's head into the Rock Tunnel and see what we can find." Gan walked over to the entrance and entered the cave right away. He was quickly followed by Warren and Arlo; this place had more Pokemon and they were stronger.
The Rock tunnel didn't look too different from Mt. Moon, with the only difference being the constant lighting of the place. This place was well managed compared to Mt. Moon, there was lighting everywhere.
There were no Zubat on this floor but other Pokemon should make an appearance. In the games, it was always dark or very foggy for some reason. However, this was different, it was no longer that dark place that required some means to get decent lighting to see.
When they walked inside, they saw several large rock structures but these were of no importance to anyone. The ground was filled with dirt, with some places having large puddles of water present.
"Hmm, I wonder what type of Pokemon are in this Cave?" Arlo looked around, it didn't seem too different from Mt. Moon.
"Probably the typical Geodude, Zubat, and whatnot. I hope this place can give us more than Mt. Moon because I'm sad to say that I was disappointed in that place." To Warren, finding Clefariy and all was good but he wanted something more.
"Any particular Pokemon you guys are looking for? Warren, what type of Pokemon are you looking for?" Gan kept walking and asked.
"Hmm, I prefer Flying Pokemon, they're my favorite type, at least Pokemon that can fly." Warren always loved flying type or anything flying-related; hence, his Helicopter. To him, flying represented freedom, being able to fly away without a care.
Just when Gan and Arlo wanted to say something, they felt trembling up ahead.
"What was that?" Everyone looked at each other, then ran over to investigate. After running for about a minute they arrived at the scene. And there they saw, two Pokemon fighting each other; they had engaged in a deadly battle.
Gan recognized both Pokemon, well, they were both the same Pokemon.
"Hmm, they're both Rhyhorns." Gan was able to quickly identify them at first sight.
"Look there, there's a third one watching the fight!" Arlo pointed towards another area and they saw another Rhyhorn spectating the battle. Gan had identified the two Rhyhorns that were fighting and saw that they both had 2-star talent.
|Name: Rhyhorn♀
|Type: Ground + Rock
|Level: 23
|Ability: Lightning Rod
|Potential: ★★★
|Nature: Bold
|Moves: Fury Attack| Smackdown| Scaryface| Horn Attack| Stomp| Bulldoze|
They were both Males, while the one watching, from what Gan could see was female. Gan immediately understood the situation, he knew that these two were fighting for this female's affection.
'Good, her talent is 3-stars, she'll do!' Gan thought with a smile.
"I want all three of these and mainly the one watching." Gan looked over the group to confirm.
"You can have them, they seem like a bunch of brain-dead Pokemon, I wouldn't want that thing!" Arlo waved his hand, Gan could have all three of them if he wanted for all he cared.
"The only brain-dead thing here is you... X, you can take all three of them, do you need help?" Warren took time to mock Arlo, then asked Gan if he needed a hand.
Gan thought for a moment, he carried mainly Poison Pokemon on him and Rhyhorn had several Ground-type moves. Of course, Haunter would have a field day with these Rhyhorn if she could avoid SmackDown.
However, he didn't want to reveal too many of his Pokemon.
"Yes, I'll need help, can you put them all to sleep." Gan nodded and said.
"Hehe, easy!" Warren called forth his Venomoth and commanded it to put all of the Pokemon ahead to sleep. Unfortunately, putting a Pokemon asleep didn't mean that they were certainly caught; they could still break free.
Gan scanned Warren's Venomoth, it used to be 31 back then but now it was at level 34 from his training. Venomoth flapped its wings silently before coming upon the group of Rhyhorn to release its Sleep Powder. The male Rhyhorn didn't see Venomoth but the female did, she didn't know what was going on until she felt drowsy and dosing off.
Gan tossed a Pokeball at her right away and she was encapsulated. It shook once, twice, thrice, but... she broke out. Right as she broke out, she woke up and roared in fury; then she glared at the Venomoth flying over ahead.
"Okay, go on the attack, Koffing!" Gan summoned Koffing and ordered it to use Sludge. Rhyhorn was hit, but she didn't seem phased by the attack.
Rhyhorn roared and charged toward Koffing in a frenzy, it jumped off the ground and torpedoed its way through the air.
"Protect!" Gan was surprised, he didn't know it would suddenly jump so high. Rhyhorn collided with the barrier, and its attack failed before it landed on the ground with a rumble. Rhyhorn started to charge forward before turning around to continue the same attack as last time.
"Persistent thing, huh? Venomoth, use Psybeam, take it down!" Warren gave the order, he was aware of Gan's Poisonous Pokemon typing, it would take too long to defeat Rhyhorn unless he poisoned it.
Venomoth wasted no time and released a Psybeam from its mouth, at this point; Rhyhorn had already leaped through the air. Like most Rock-type Pokemon within the Kanto region, their Special Defense wasn't something worth mentioning.
Rhyhorn was shot out of the air mid-jump, it was sent crashing toward the ground rolling. It crashed through several rocks before coming to a stop.
"Good Job, Venomoth!" Warren grinned as he looked at the dust cloud Rhyhorn left behind.
"Goodness, how strong is that butterfly?" Arlo said in surprise.
"It isn't a butterfly, it's a moth." Gan nonchalantly said.
"Same difference." Arlo shrugged.
Once the dust cloud cleared, Rhyhorn was still standing, but just barely, it wouldn't be long before it was down for good. Rhyhorn was a very territorial Pokemon; this was to explain why they hadn't really seen any Pokemon until these Rhyhorn. Rhyhorn glared hatefully at Venomoth, it couldn't help but think it should have attacked this one first.
However, it was too late for that, Rhyhorn had already taken too much damage.
The level difference was apparent, it was already good enough that it didn't go down in one hit. Rhyhorn just stood there, then it suddenly fell to the ground and fainted. Gan nodded and took the opportunity to throw a Premierball at Rhyhorn to catch it!
Gan really was grateful to Warren; the guy was helpful all of the time, and he really couldn't leave such a guy hanging in the future. Before celebrating, the other Rhyhorn started to wake up, but they were quickly defeated by Warren and Gan; with Gan catching them both.
Of course, Gan thanked his buddy Warren before they continued on. This place had floors on it just like Mt. Moon, but this floor wasn't as big as the others.
"Hmm, I'll go check this area over here, you guys can go check there. These areas don't seem to be so far from one another." Arlo wanted to do a little exploring, so he gave his suggestion.
"That's on you, we'll go this way then." Gan didn't see a problem with it. So, he and Warren went together, while Arlo went on his own way; they agreed to meet here after twenty minutes.
Gan and Warren ran into quite a number of Geodude on their way; some even hid underground. Gan had to tread carefully, he didn't want to get his leg broken like the man from earlier. As they were walking, a silhouette came from above.
Warren and Gan jumped to the ground to dodge!
"Kikiki!" Both Gan and Warren looked over to see who had attacked them, and they easily recognized it as a Golbat. It turned to attack them again, it had attacked several humans before, so it found new targets.
|Name: Golbat♂
|Type: Poison + Flying
|Level: 23
|Ability: Inner Focus
|Potential: ★
|Nature: Impish
|Moves: Screech| SuperSonic| Absorb| Astonish| Bite| Air Cutter| Wing Attack| Confuse Ray|
Machop had also been killed by many Golbat; they were easy targets for this type of Pokemon. Humans were different in its book, they were food it could pick off and drink with ease.
"Rock Slide!" Gan tossed his Pokeball at Golbat, to be exact, he threw his Geodude's Pokeball at it. Geodude came out of his Pokeball and lock onto its target immediately. Golbat was meaning to swat the Pokeball away but something emerged from it.
Rocks came tumbling out of the Void onto Golbat, it fell to the ground after taking the hit and fainted. Geodude was a 4-star Pokemon that was only 1 level lower than it, so it still couldn't take one hit.
Not to mention the talent difference.
"You chose the wrong people to attack today." Gan tossed a Pokeball at it and it was added to his Pokedex catch entry.
"We may have to stick to our old method while venturing through caves." Warren summoned his Venomoth to guard them as it did back in Mt. Moon.
"Great idea." Gan didn't recall his Geodude and had it follow them.
After walking for a while, they smell something that almost caused them to pass out!
"Oh... my goodness!" Gan turned away from the sight before them. What they were greeted with was a bunch of corpses!
"These are... dead Pokemon!" Warren's face scrunched, they weren't humans but they had humanoid figures.
They were all dead Machop!
