"It all started when I decided I wanted to protect her. She was so timid and alone. Growing up in the orphanage made it easy to recognise and I'd helped a lot of kids come into their own, so I saw her as another person in need of a lot of help. I know now why she looked so… fragile… back then. I won't speak too much on it but it was pretty bad. For her, it was world shattering. Vongrak For people wondering why Kat didn't just turn into fog. Two reasons.
One: She forgot. Kat's just not use to that ability.
Two: It wouldn't work anyway. She doesn't have enough control to get out of the bindings that way and even if she did... the risk of her reforming around the bindings is high, especially because that's not what the ability is for. She'd also be done for the count afterwards.
