Chapter 42: Sleeping in the Guest Room
She had accidentally given her heart away. . .
By the time Elena went to sleep, it was already 1 A.M. in the morning.

After eating, Lu Chenjun drove back to the Jinlu Complex by himself. He entered the house, which was already dark, and walked towards the dining room.
He checked his watch, '1:30'. Although he realized that the time was really late, he couldn't hide the disappointment on his face when he found the dining and living rooms to be empty.
'Maybe she's in her room.' Lu Chenjun quickly walked up the stairs and saw that the door to Elena's room was open.
He smiled and walked in. However, his smile disappeared when he realized that no one was in the room. He searched the bathroom, the closet, and flipped through the blankets. Where was she?
He took off his coat and placed it on Elena's bed before walking over to his own room. He opened the lights and looked around. Was she not in the house?
Lu Chenjun felt his heart start pounding faster as he left his room. He searched the entire second floor.
'Where could she be? Is she sleeping on the couch?'
Lu Chenjun frowned as he ran down the stairs, his heavy footsteps waking Auntie Qin up. He walked over to the couch, which was also empty.
The door to Auntie Qin's bedroom opened. Her room was located on the first floor, making it more convenient for her to do her work. She walked over to Lu Chenjun and yawned.
"You're back, Mr. Lu."
Lu Chenjun stared at Auntie Qin, "Where is Jin Yinghui?"
Auntie Qin frowned as she thought, 'Wasn't Yinghui waiting for him? Did she go to sleep?'
"I think Yinghui went to bed."
"I didn't see her in her room."
Auntie Qin frowned, "Did you check the other rooms?"
Lu Chenjun knit his eyebrows together and put a hand on his forehead. He had forgotten one room.
"Thank you, Auntie Qin. I'm sorry for waking you up."
Lu Chenjun quickly waved goodbye to Auntie Qin and ran back up the stairs. Auntie Qin tried calling him, but he ignored her and disappeared into the second floor.
As Auntie Qin walked back to her room, she wondered, 'Should I tell Mr. Lu about what happened today?'
She wiped the thought away as she lifted the blanket up, 'Yinghui will tell him if she wants to. I shouldn't meddle in their business.'
Lu Chenjun ran up the stairs and made a left turn. There was a guest bedroom right next to his room. He hadn't paid much attention to that room when he was searching for her the first time.
He placed his hand onto the door handle, but it didn't budge. He used more force but quickly realized that the door was locked.
Who else could have locked the door? Who could be in there?
Lu Chenjun laughed at Elena's stupidity. Did she really think that by sleeping inside the guest's room and locking the door, Lu Chenjun wouldn't have a way to get in?
This was his house. He had the keys to every single room in the house. Lu Chenjun calmed down after locating Elena, and he swiftly walked back into his room. After changing into comfortable clothes, he grabbed his ring of keys and returned to the guest room.
He inserted a dark brown key into the keyhole and turned it. The door immediately clicked open, and Lu Chenjun quietly walked in.
The lights were turned off, but Lu Chenjun could make out Elena's body under the layers of blanket.
He smiled, not aware of the fact that Elena was very angry at him. Lu Chenjun thought that Elena had moved to the guest room because he came back late today. He had no idea about what was going on inside her brain.
Lu Chenjun gently lifted up the blanket and crawled into bed. He stared at Elena's small face, gently resting it onto his chest.
Elena moved her body around, frowning in her sleep. She kept her eyes closed as she found a comfortable position in Lu Chenjun's arms and stopped squirming.

The next day was one of those days when Elena had a bunch of scenes to film. The filming crew was on a tight schedule and wanted to finish filming quickly. She had a part in 13 scenes that day.
Originally, she was frustrated about this schedule. However, after what happened yesterday, Elena was happy that she had an excuse to not stay home the entire day.
She woke up at 8 in the morning and placed a hand over her forehead as she yawned. She was only able to get in 7 hours of sleep because of that stupid bastard!
Elena frowned at the thought of what happened yesterday. Her anger had not gone away yet. She lifted her hand off of her forehead and slammed it down to the space next to her.
She was hoping to relieve some of her anger by hitting the soft surface, but she ended up hitting a hard wall.
Elena hissed from the pain her hand felt, but quickly stopped when she heard a man groan next to her.
She immediately sat up and turned around.
'How did he get in?'
Elena's eyes widened as she looked around, checking to make sure that she was still inside the guest room. She was a hundred percent sure that she had locked the door yesterday night.
The man next to her had woken up, and his voice sounded with a hint of frustration, "Why are you always so aggressive in the morning?"
Elena quickly recovered from her shock and tried to get out of bed. Just as she was about to stand up, a strong hand pulled her back down.
"Why are you sleeping in the guest room?"
Elena ignored him and tried to escape from his embrace. As she moved around, Lu Chenjun's grip became even firmer, preventing her from moving at all.
She was going to be late for work so she had to find a way to get out. She looked around and saw the hand Lu Chenjun was using to pull her in.
Elena raised one eyebrow and thought, 'You made me do this.'
She opened her mouth and bit down extremely hard onto Lu Chenjun's arm without any hesitation.
Lu Chenjun immediately loosened his arm and Elena swiftly hopped out of the bed quickly. This time, she didn't even bother to say sorry before walking away.
Lu Chenjun sat up with a frown, 'Why was she acting like this?'
He got off the bed too and followed Elena into her room. She was preparing to brush her teeth when Lu Chenjun walked into her room.
"Why are you acting like this?"
Elena continued to squeeze the toothpaste onto her toothbrush, not even bothering to look at Lu Chenjun.
Lu Chenjun snatched the toothbrush out of Elena's hand and asked again, his tone more fierce, "Why are you acting like this?"
Elena rolled her eyes and glared at Lu Chenjun, "What am I acting like? If you don't like it, then just break up with me."
Her tone was filled with disgust and frustration and Lu Chenjun's face turned dark at her words.
Elena grabbed the toothbrush back and began to brush her teeth.
Lu Chenjun watched Elena clean her teeth and brush her hair. When she left to go do her makeup, Lu Chenjun followed her.
Elena looked up at him, her eyes cold and empty, "Well, CEO Lu seems like he is not very busy. Why don't you go back to your room and continue staring at whatever you want?"
Lu Chenjun frowned before saying, "Well, someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning."
Elena took a deep breath and screamed at Lu Chenjun who was walking away, "Well, someone woke up on the wrong bed this morning!"
Lu Chenjun was surprised at Elena's strong attitude. Usually, when he came back late, Elena would just be mad for a bit before returning to normal.
So why was she so mad today?
Elena angrily put on her makeup wondering if what she just said had gone too far. She frowned as she remembered that she had to act like this.
She remembered what she told herself in bed last night, 'I have to stop myself from going too far. Lu Chenjun is like a drug. If I don't control myself, I will be the one that ends up getting hurt. . .'
