Chapter 19: Yucheng, Goodbye
She knew that Lou Yucheng was a player before he met her, but she didn't mind.
Although she was young, she had never had immature and unrealistic fantasies. When it came to her partner's private life, she did not blame him for things that happened before they knew each other. After all, she was not a part of his life then, so she had no right to have expectations.
As long as she agreed to his character and values, she could even accept a divorcee with a child if she liked him.
When she first started dating Lou Yucheng, she was very hesitant. She didn't know if she could make a player give up on a vast sea of fish for one person, but she had to give it a try.
During their 6 months together, she was too afraid to be intimate with Lou Yucheng in case he treated her like the casual women he dated in the past.
But, the thing that made her happy was the fact that Lou Yucheng didn't force her. For her, he was willing to endure and ignore all temptations.
Slowly, she found herself seriously falling for his tenderness and care. She even persuaded herself not to think about whether he would get sick of her and return to his old habits. Instead, she told herself to cherish the moment.
If one day, he really changed, she would just turn and leave. No matter how painful and hurt she felt, at least, she did not let herself down and do something she regretted.
If she didn't even dare to try, then it meant she didn't love him enough.
She thought she and Lou Yucheng would end up together...
Big drops of tears fell from her eyes. Li Weiyin bit hard on her lips and tried her best not to make a sound.
She could accept his promiscuous past, but she could not tolerate the slightest betrayal after he met her.
However, she did not open the door to catch the cheaters in bed. She was in no position to do that. Lou Yucheng had already told her that their relationship was over, she just didn't accept it.
Now that she thought about it, he didn't actually betray her. It was her fault for not accepting it and getting over it.
A poignant smile appeared on Li Weiyin's teary face. She turned around, allowing the tears to flow freely, and dragged her heartbroken body stiffly away.
As she reached the entrance, she stopped, reached for her keys with her trembling hands, and slowly placed them on top of the shoe cabinet.
She then took out a velvet box from her bag and rubbed it nostalgically with her thumb. A tear fell down and dripped on the box, soaking the dark blue and turning it black.
"My mother gave this brooch to me. She told me to give it to the woman I love so when I brought her to meet her and my father, they would know that she's the woman I want to marry and they would behave well to help me gain brownie points."
The amount of happiness she felt in the past, was the amount of pain she felt now.
She put down the box, turned around, and looked at the place where she experienced a short period of carefree happiness.
She then turned back around abruptly, opened the door, straightened her spine, and left firmly.
Yucheng, goodbye.

Not long after Li Weiyin left, Lou Yucheng's door opened from the inside and a head that resembled his peeked out.
Chapter 20: Lost
He furrowed his brows as a pair of soft, almost boneless hands clung to him from behind, and a woman's gentle voice sounded, "I told you you were hearing things."
Lou Yuchi closed the door with confusion. But, as soon as he turned around, his eyes fell on the item on top of the shoe cabinet. He brushed away the woman that was clinging to him, opened the box, and saw the 'Blue Eye Brooch' sitting inside. His expression immediately changed.
This brooch was called the 'Blue Eye Brooch'. It was composed of a circle of pearls paired with fine transparent diamonds surrounding a big blue sapphire and the sapphire was sparkly like a mesmerizing eye.
This was a status symbol for the Lou Family's eldest daughter-in-law. Lou Yuchi trembled as he pulled out his phone and called his brother.
Oh no! He had created a huge mess!
When he realized Lou Yucheng's phone was switched off, Lou Yuchi remembered that his brother had gone overseas for something urgent and was on the plane at that moment.
He became so anxious, he was not in the mood to care about anything else. He immediately contacted his brother's best friend to ask him a few questions. Who was this mysterious sister-in-law that his brother mentioned he was planning to introduce to the family soon?
It was best for him to explain things to her in person. But, as it turned out, she was different to the women that Lou Yucheng normally played around with, so none of his friends had ever seen her.
It's not that no one was curious, but every time they told Lou Yucheng to introduce her to them, he would say that she wasn't around. So, his friends were actually curious about the girlfriend that Lou Yucheng had hidden away.
Li Weiyin and Lou Yucheng had been together for half a year, but within 2 months of dating, Lou Yucheng was busy and Li Weiyin had her own things to pursue.
As a result, not a single one of Lou Yucheng's acquaintances had Li Weiyin's contact details. In fact, they didn't even know her name.
Lou Yuchi waited anxiously until early the next morning before he finally got through to Lou Yucheng's phone.
"Speak, what mess did you cause this time? Who do you want me to help you suck up to?" Lou Yucheng asked impatiently.
Lou Yuchi swallowed, "Bro, you need to remain calm. Remember how you said that you were giving your house in Chengjiang to me? I came to check it out today and..."
Lou Yuchi explained the rest in his quietest voice possible, but Lou Yucheng still heard him clearly.
He immediately stood up, hung up his phone, and saw the missed calls from Li Weiyin.
His finger floated above the phone screen for some time, but he did not press it. He brushed the phone aside with annoyance, spread his arms, lay on the bed, and stared at the ceiling in a daze.
By returning the Blue Eye Brooch to him, it meant she was agreeing to break up with him. This was the result that he wanted. But, for some reason, his heart broke.
He guessed that she must have misunderstood. He had previously promised that he would not have an unclear relationship with another woman.
When he first met her, he had actually been annoyed by his past. He even blamed God for playing tricks on him. If he knew he would meet a woman that he was crazy about, he would have saved himself for her.
She told him that she wasn't a part of his past so she had no right to complain, but if he dared to cheat on her, she would never forgive him and she would run far away to a place where he would never find her again.
At that moment, she probably thought he lied to her. Had she finally experienced how it felt to be lied to?
She should experience the pain carefully!
Lou Yucheng's heart was filled with vengeance, but he hated himself for not being able to let go. The other party probably didn't even care.
