19.. relief(?)
Her speed increased, the morning sun rays fell on her body and gave her a distinct halo of grace and vigour, the drops of sweat flew because of her movements making arcs in the air and glittered like diamonds before falling on the ground bellow like raindrops, the girl had a serious look in her eyes but also had a smile in them, it wasn't hard to guess that she was enjoying this....., and this was the scene that the Duke, who was holding Aki in his arms, saw when they were led by the maid to this place.
Aki saw her beautiful Onee-chan and couldn't help but subconsciously hold his breath, he didn't want to disturb her and also wanted to see this beautiful dance for a while longer.
The Duke had seen many handle the sword, at a time he also had given training to many of them as an instructor including the current crown prince; he himself was someone who handled sword because he used light magic, but it stands for a fact that he had never seen anyone this beautiful, this graceful yet strong when performing those basic steps, her style was sharp and precise, she didn't have any superfluous or extra movements, even he wasn't sure if he was this good at the same age... for the first time he felt like testing the reality of the gender test.
Was this shining and brilliant little girl really a Beta?
His eyes held an unprecedented pride, unknowingly he was happy with himself to have this girl as his own child....
His child should be like this, he thought.
Yuki felt their gaze and slowly brought her movements to a stop, she drew a diagonal line in the air leaving a shine in its path and with practised movement put the sword back in its scabbard, as she took light steps towards them.
If she knew what the Duke had in his head, she would have surely snorted with contempt.
When she had started using the sword, it was not like she became good at it in an instant, she was devoted to it, her tender skin was not used to it and it teared up, holding the sword for a long period made them bleed, and it still hurt even with calluses, her skin was still tender and didn't harden easily... but she persisted...
It didn't matter what her gender was, it was because she gave her everything to it that she was good at it; saying that someone was good at it 'because' they were an Alpha or, questioning her gender because she was 'good' at it, was an insult to their hard work.... it was as if, the gender became a stereotype in itself, while she can't deny that according to their innate physical quality, the Alpha had a better start, but still, she never wanted to be compared because of the same, she will just work hard to get that result, she was a genius herself, she didn't feel that she was inferior to them!
Though Yuki always joked around that she was a genius and was narcissistic at times, no one could deny the amount of hard work she out behind it, just because you can remember everything since birth didn't make a difference, at times it became a curse because you were not 'normal', but that was it... It was Yuki who used her ability to it's maximum, she read books because she had the desire to know, she practised, she memorised, she put everything she learnt into practice... a great man has said,
"Genius is one per cent inspiration, ninety-nine per cent perspiration...."
She was never complacent that she was a born genius, she did her part to know and understand whatever she did in that time, she needed help to understand the letters but once she knew about them, she started reading books to get used to them first, at first she didn't understand what was written in the books but after she was tutored for a while and had a better grasp over the basic foundation, she grew up rapidly, her hard work paid off...
She was not a born genius, just that she only had a better memory, it was she who did everything she could to be the girl she was now, she was a self-made genius.
She never thought of her gender as a limitation, only her will could be her limit because as long she put her hard work and effort, she didn't think that she will be so easily toppled by the tag of 'Alpha'.

As she reached them, she greeted the both of them, "Good Morning"
The Duke just gave a nod, he was still a bit out of it, but Aki who was held in his arms became restless again. He squirmed a bit but his father didn't let him down, he finally called out, "Papa..let me down."
The Duke heard him and let him down.
Before his legs even touched the floor, he directly jumped onto her, " Onee-chan, a very good morning to you, too", he spoke with glee, as he gave a peck on her cheek.
Yuki was startled by this sudden intimate contact, but still gave him a nod and a soft pat on his fluffy head, she could still handle this much.
Seeing the two act like that, the Duke felt a sudden emptiness inside, but he ignored it.
Aki, who was still a bit scared because he thought he won't see his Onee-chan ever again, finally breathed a sigh of relief.
