Chapter 13: Chapter 13 New Start?
I didnt even make it past the middle with book two before my dad walked in with dinner. I checked the time...
"Im sorry dad. I got so interesting in these books I completely forgot."
"Its fine. It gave me time to think."
I closed the book and watched him sit on my bed, not handing me dinner.
"Its about this promotion."
"Have you accepted?"
"No, i was given the rest of the afternoon to think about it. Look they want to promote me to the manager."
"Ok."
"It means I get a better salary, a better roster with fixed hours, Leave and sick leave rates and a company car."
"It sounds great, whats holding you back."
"This house is." Picture me confused. "If i take this, it means that we possibly need to move closer to my work. This house has so many bad memories but it also has some amazing ones."
"Oh." The only memory i have thats bad is mum walking out and never coming back.
"The job is also alot more responsibility, which will be alot more stressful."
"You want to move." His eyes snapped to my face. His eyes holding onto mine. "If your looking for me to help you make the decision all i can say is that its really not my place to say what we should do or not to do. My feelings about this place are not going to be hurt if you do decide to move us. Im greatfully that you did consider my feelings. I will be going to university in two years moving wont effect my grades. I would like to stay at the same school just so that i can continue to improve my chances of getting a scholarship."
"I was hoping for a yes or no answer kiddo."
"Yes if it will make you happy and if you feel like you need to move on. No if you dont have any feelings on the matter."
"I think its time."
"As do I."
"I think we need a fresh start."
"Ill start collecting boxes."
"Ill go accept the promotion."He gets up and hands me my plate. "Thank you."
"What for?"
"For being you." He gives me a kiss on my forehead and walks away. Thats the second time he has giving me a kiss today. There must be something going on here...
