Chapter 10: Why Would You Say Such A Thing?!
"You know Prof. Mo, I have a girlfriend from Malaysia and we are both different in every way imaginable. She took me to her country last Summer break, can you imagine my surprise when I got there?! They don't have a grocery store like what you will find in the States! In fact I don't think people from other countries have grocery store!"
At this point, Deb Oh could no longer stomach the superior tone used by her classmate.
"What are you saying? In my country Thailand, we have grocery store but it is called by a different name! Have you been to all the countries in the whole world? Why would you say such a thing?!"
Deb Oh suddenly saw red, her sanity went out of the window. For the first time the intoverted highly sensitive young adult spoke up in the presence of a class of 30 students.
"Miss. Oh...surely you don't think that there are grocery stores in those places?! Let me tell you that during my 22 years as a nurse I have been to countries without electricity and running water!"
"Wow! Ignorance is a disease! How does going to a country without water or electricity tie to what Li said? Am I the one not getting what this pompous butt head is saying?!"
The rest of the class wore a look of complete shock on their faces, their eyes had one thing in common.
"Is she mad?! How can a minority say such a scandalous thing in front of Prof. Mo?!"
