"Okay. I promise tha..", Navneet was still continuing but Bhumi interrupted him.
"Kruthika, he had nearly broken thousand promises till now. Don't belive him", said Bhumi.
"Oh. Well then in that case, you'll never know the answer mister Navneet", said Kruthika.
"Well at least we can know the answer", said Varshini.
"Okay. The priest takes seven flowers, when dives into water it doubles, day fourteen. He dedicates eight flowers at the first temple. Now he's left with six flowers, to reach next temple again he should swim, water doubles the flower to twelve. He dedicates eight flowers, and is left with four. To reach the last one again he must swim, water doubles it again to eight, he dedicates right to God and is left with zero flowers", said Kruthika.
"Oh, it was tricky", said Suma she was astonished by the riddle.
"I know!", says Kruthika, "So will you guys be my friends"
"Ofcourse, you are already", said Vinod.
"Hey can we go to new movie of Abhikshith's with Roshini. I've seen the trailer and songs, I think it's a good movie", said Bhumi.
"Okay, but when and at what time?", asked Suma.
"Tomorrow is sunday right, them we'll go to morning show and have something for lunch outside", said Vinod.
"But will we get the tickets? I guess tomorrow they will hike the price of tickets as it is weekend", Kruthika said.
"Yeah! Even she's right. Can we go on Wednesday. Ticket fare is always less on Wednesdays and we have classes till one that day", said Navneet.
"And lunch?", asked Kruthika. She's the only hostelite where everyone were day scholar's. Since they had plan soon after the classes she wouldn't have enough time to go have lunch in mess.
"You can have from our boxes itself. It's not a big deal", said Suma.
"I thought about it, but felt little shy to ask about it", said Kruthika.
"Come on, we're friends now. There's no need to be shy here. Okay", said Vinod.
"Okay then, I'll book the tickets on Wednesday", said Bhumi.
"Guys, do you know where is the nearby post office? I needed to post one letter", Kruthika asked.
"Yeah I know one. It's nearby my home", answered Navneet.
"Will you show me where it is?", asked Kruthika.
"Only if you give me your phone number", Navneet teased her.
"You are really such an idiot. Okay since I haven't shared my number with any of you I'm giving it to you all", said Kruthika and exchanged her phone number with all of them.
Kruthika was the most charming in their group, she had won their hearts not only by her charm but also from the riddle which she asked. She knew perfectly how to make unknowns as her friends.
Kruthika went with Navneet to the post office, she took the letter from her bag and posted the letter in the post box. Navneet tried to peep into address which was written on the cover of letter, he could only read Manipal.
"So who's in Manipal? Your bf?", asked Navneet.
Bf can be used as a shirt babe for a boy friend and best friend. Kruthika understood his trick at mentioning it.
"It's to my brother who's studying in Manipal. He don't like conversations in phone and that's why I write him letters", Kruthika lied about the last sentence as she can't share her personal matters with him, that level of closeness was not yet developed.
"Oh. I never asked you about your family. You have a brother that's good. Hey my home is near by, would you like to visit my home", Navneet invited her.
"Sorry! May be next time", Kruthika replied.
"Don't worry. My mom will be at home", Navneet replied.
"No it's not like that. But may be next time", Kruthika replied.
"Look! My mom knows about you, I've said her about you and the riddle you asked. I even said everyone in home that you'll be getting your answer today. It's better you give the answer by yourself", Navneet said.
"I'm really sorry Navneet! My father asked me to visit few of my maternal and paternal relatives. Now the syllabus of* light and there are no exams also. Once the internals starts, I'll get no time to visit them", Kruthika answered.
"Please. I promise it won't take even fifteen minutes also", Navneet pleaded.
Kruthika tried her best to avoid it but Navneet won finally.
"Okay. But only fifteen minutes", Kruthika said.
Navneet nodded in response. He took her to his home which was a flat in the apartment*, and his home was at fifth floor. He rang the bell of his home and a woman in her forties dressed in kurti opened the door.
"Mom, this is Kruthika, Varshini's classmate", Navneet said as he entered into house.
"Namaste aunty", Kruthika greeted Navneet's mom and entered into house after him.
"Oh, that riddle girl. Come in Kruthika", said as she welcomed her, "So how is the college?"
"It's good aunty. And I've got good friends too in short time", Kruthika said as she smiled.
His home was beautiful with light colours and few decorative arts in the living room. She sat on the sofa beside Navneet's mom, while he was sitting on the armchair which was on ninety degrees to the sofa.
"Okay. Do you need something to drink? How about a lemonade?", she asked them.
"It's okay aunty. I'm fine, there's really no necessary for such formalities", Kruthika answered.
"What's this Kruthika you've busted first time my home and you don't even have a lemonade. I know you don't have coffee, tea and milk, but there's no orientation with lemonade right?", Navneet asked her, "Is it that you don't have anything in my house"
"Nothing like that. I just don't wanted to give a trouble to you aunty, that's it!", Kruthika answered, she was embarrassed now.
"It's not a trouble", Navneet said.
His mom prepared some lemonade for all and brought it in a fancy glass in a tray. She gave it to her and Navneet and she took one.
"By the way what's the answer to the riddle? He gave so much pressure for everyone in home to find an answer for this question. But in vain", she asked as sat on the sofa and she sipped the juice from the glass.
Kruthika narrated the answer to her.
