Chapter 37: First day of college....
When she was fine with crying she went to her room number 9, she introduced herself to her roommates.
"Hi, I'm Kruthika B.Tech first year", she says as she shook hand with her roommate.
"Hello, I'm Anjali B.A.M.S third year", said Anjali.
"Hi, I'm Srinidhi B.Sc first year", said Srinidhi.
Kruthika just tried to end the conversation there, she did not want to have lengthier conversation with their first meeting itself. She arranged her bed and her study table neatly and went to sleep or pretended so.
She was waiting for morning sun to rise so that she could call her parents and her brother. She woke up early, got ready for class, she took her bag and went to mess to have her breakfast.
"Would you like to join me?", Kruthika asked as she was going out of room.
"Yeah I will", said Anjali.
"Will Srinidhi join us or will she go with her friends?", asked Kruthika.
B.Sc student's academic year starts a month prior to engineering students. Kruthika thought in that month may be she might have her friends in hostel to accompany her.
"No. She always go to mess with her friends", said Anjali.
"Okay", said Kruthika. She was wearing her lucky yellow top and white legging.
"So, did you sleep well yesterday night. It's a new place right", asked Anjali.
"Well I tried to. I have problems in sleeping early. We have different mess for girls and boys right!", said Kruthika.
"Yes. By the way which branch is your's?", asked Anjali.
"Aeronautics", replied Kruthika.
"Oh, but you have less carrier opportunities in it. You could have chosen computer science", said Anjali.
"I don't like coding and moreover I'm worst at it", said Kruthika.
They reached the mess and took their breakfast. Anjali took her breakfast and a cup of tea. While Kruthika just took her breakfast.
"Why! You don't like tea and coffee?", asked Anjali.
"No. I don't have the habit", said Kruthika.
"Well, then from where will you get calcium for your body. Even breakfast is not that good here, it's better you have some tea where you get enough calcium", said Anjali as they searched for an empty table to have breakfast.
The mess was crowded and filled with the noise of girl's giggles and talks and with loud noise of TV which was at the centre of hall. Each girl in the room was either looking at the TV or looking at phone while eating. Kruthika just observed the room and then started to have her breakfast.
"So when your class starts at?", asked Anjali.
"At 9 and yours?", asked Kruthika.
"Mine's at 9, but why did you get ready for class so soon it's still 8:30", asked Anjali.
"Oh I want to call my parents", replied Kruthika.
"Do you have siblings?"
"Yeah twin brother Karthik. Do you have any siblings?"
"Yeah one younger sister. So twin haa! What is he studying?"
"Bachelor's in commerce in Manipal University"
"That's great. But why did he choose commerce while you chose engineering?"
"Well.. He likes it. And what's your younger sister studying?"
"She's studying her bachelor's in horticulture"
"That's good. Are you done!"
"Yeah"
"What are we supposed to do with plates?"
"Just place them near the passage over there, there's a box", said Anjali.
Kruthika and Anjali placed their plates and washed their hands in the basin. Anjali went to room while Kruthika just sat on the bench and called her parents.
"Did you sleep properly or not?", "How was the breakfast?", "Take care of yourself", were the questions and sentence was repeatedly asked for Kruthika during her call with her. She answered them and asked about Karthik.
"Mom, did Karthik call you?", asked Kruthika.
"No. He said he'll call us evening he's busy with morning chores there", said Madhavi.
"Okay. When did you reach the home?"
"It was around 4 in morning. Your father did not have sleep yesterday so we thought of closing shop to morning"
"Okay mom I'll call evening. Bye", says Kruthika and hung up her phone.
She went to the building where they informed the classes would be held, it was an eight storied building. There was a notice board before they could enter the building, it informed the students about their room number where the classes would be held. She checked it twice and went to her class which was on the third floor, she thought to take the steps instead of lift. She went to her class which was second room on her right, there were only few members present, she sat on third bench. As the time passed the class filled with students. Kruthika introduced herself to her classmates sitting by her side to initiate the friendship. The class started, lecturer asked them to introduce themselves, there were around fourty students in class. Boys were 31 and girls were 11.
"I'm Anirudh, my ranking is 3625. I've taken computer science, because no other branch can give me a good placement", said a person, who was of average height and black hair, he was wearing a grey Marvel collar t-shirt.
"I'm Vishwa, my ranking is 5472. I've chosen mechanical, because I like to study about machine", said person sitting beside to him, he was a bit shorter than Anirudh, black hair having glasses (👓) he was wearing a blue shirt.
"I'm Sunil, my rank is 951. I've chosed computer science, because I like it", said a person, who was tall, masculine, black haired, he was wearing white shirt. Everyone just awed at him as his was lowest rank so far in the class. He was not only intelligent but also handsome.
Everyone introduced themself, and so did Kruthika. After introduction, lecturer started to teach the syllabus, he gave a brief introduction about the course he was taking (physics), and about examination system.
"About examination, you will be having a seminar in the auditorium, the one which is in the middle of campus you'll get to know about it. The circular will be announced soon in the class. There will be seminar of our College library, I guess you have seen it, it was where the admissions was going on. Okay now moving to today's topic Optics", said the professor as he wrote on the board.

Well first day of our college is Airways cherished from our memories. This was Kruthika's first day of college.
