Chapter 13: No one knows who HE is?
Kruthika went to her job wondering who might be new roommate. She went to the airport at 9:15, she checked her message list, she reread the message from her parents which said WE HAVE REACHED HOME. WAITING FOR YOUR MESSAGE.
Kruthika wanted to talk to her parents but they would be sleeping at this time since the time in India would be 1:45am as India is four and half hours ahead of London. It was hard for her to control home sickness she wanted to spend more time with them.
She tried to divert her concentration and thought about journey, then she was thankful to Clara who managed to give her food, which would risk her job. She tried to contact her when flight landed but couldn't reach her, she messaged her describing how thankful she is to her.
Than she was thinking about her co-passenger Abhikshith Bhargav, even though he was a celebrity she was arrogant to him. Later she remembered about the thing which disturbed her most, his eyes and his touch which seemed familiar even though she met him first time.
What if she didn't meet him directly, met as another person who's identity was unknown? She was trying hard to remember, but Emily disturbed it.
"Hi Kruthika. So how was your visit? Do you have the pics of wedding?", said Emily.
"One question at a time please. Visit to India was great. I've got all the pictures of the wedding from the photographer. I actually pleaded him to give me the pictures", said Kruthika she looked at her watch,"Shit! It's already 10 come on we have to rush, I'll show you pics during the break, okay!".
Both of them rushed to the tower. When she went to her desk rest of her colleagues asked about her visit and how was the wedding she answered to them and they began their work.
During first break both of them went to have coffee and Kruthika showed her pics of wedding.
"Manasa is so pretty", said Emily as she saw her pic.
"Yeah she is", replied Kruthika sipping her coffee.
"Which ritual is this?", asked Emily pointing to the picture.
"Oh it is the pic from bangle ceremony, where all the women from household wear the green glass bangles"
"Oh!. And what is this design on her hand?"
"It's called Mehandi,a paste made from Henna leaves. During wedding bride has lot of stress, by applying mehendi her stress decreases by cooling her hands. Even other women can also apply mehendi on their hands"
"Cool! Isn't it? And this is turmeric ceremony right?"
"Yeah!"
"Pictures are very nice. I guess wedding was much more beautiful as it appears in pictures"
"Yeah it was really good"
By the time Emily finished looking at pictures and admiring about the wedding the first break was over, they returned to their work.
Kruthika knew many people but had only few friends, she didn't have any enemies, she spoke to everyone with a smile on her face. Even though if she had clashes with anyone she tried to solve them at that moment and forgets about it.
She didn't like to be rude to any one. At the same time, she didn't compromised her principles for any one.
She finished her work and went to home by catching a bus. She used taxi only when she's tired and when she's in hurry. Even at the bus she spoke to Krishna about her work, her plans and about her new roommate thinking what would be look like and his character and behaviour.
She reached home at 6:35am, it was a pleasant May morning where Sun was already risen. She opened the door, went upstairs to her room and freshen up. Later she came down, she thought to prepare breakfast puri and potato curry since nothing was written on sticky note on refrigerator. She kneaded the flour for puri and chopped vegetables for curry.
Sudeep came from his room rubbing eyes which seemed he just woke up, he pulled the chair towards Kruthika and sat.
"Good morning. How was your sleep?", asked Kruthika as she was preparing curry.
"It was good. Is the breakfast puri and potato curry? Wait I'll brush my teeth and come", said Sudeep, on his way to bathroom he asked Anirudh, Sachin and Hemanth to wake up to eat hot puris.
Puri served with potato curry was everyone's favourite at home. Potato curry was ready and she was making puri from the kneaded flour.
Everyone woke up brushed their teeth and sat at the dining table, she served everyone hot puris with potato curry.
"So who is coming as roommate?", asked Kruthika when everyone were done with breakfast.
"The agent said that he'll be here only for few days and he'll return to his country. But he'll give frequent visits", said Anirudh.
"What's the benefit for us then, if he stays for few days then he might only pay rent for those days and during his absence it will only us who will be posting rent and bills", argued Kruthika.
"No he said he would be paying his part of bill even during his absence. That's why we thought of sharing the house", said Sudeep.
"But why would he stay here, he could have been stayed at hotel at the same price which would be equal to paying rent of all months", asked Kruthika.
"When we asked the same to agent he said that the he was bored to stay at hotel and didn't like the food", said Sachin.
"But guys I feel something fishy about him. But you didn't answer who is he?", asked Kruthika. There was silence among them.
It Hemanth who broke it,"Truth is that even we don't know. We were happy that we got a new roomie who didn't stay for long time with all the benefits and we all forgot to ask his name".
Kruthika got angry. "How could you not ask his identity and details? Give me agent's number I'll call him and enquire about him", she screamed.
When Kruthika gets angry she starts to scream.
"When the deal was done, agent said that he was coming today so we didn't bother about. We will know him today leave it. I know the agent from many years. He's good at this", said Sachin trying to calm Kruthika.
"Okay at what time will he come?", asked Kruthika calming herself.
"May be morning or afternoon", said Sachin.
"Say me honestly you don't even know at what time he's coming! right?", asked Kruthika.
"Yes", said Sachin slowly.
"Okay leave it. You guys are getting late for your work don't you want to go", said Kruthika.
Everyone were relaxed that Kruthika took it easy. Everyone were busy men were being ready for their work and Kruthika was cleaning kitchen.
