Chapter 4: Chapter 4:
I saw Silvers hair. But he was surrounded. I sprinted and saw him crying on the floor. Jackson was also crying on the floor. I said, "What is going on?!"
Silver said, "They started hurting Jack. I stepped in. They hurt me Jay."
I nodded. I picked them both up on my arms. Jack on my left arm and Silver on my right. I carried them to the car. I gently put them in. I said, "Silver, do you want to stay at Jack's house?"
He nodded while wiping his tears. I drove them. I walked them up. Jack was holding my hand. He rang the door bell. The brother sees me. He winks at me. Jack said, "Can you check on me and Silver Jay?"
I nodded. I said, "Sure. Lead the way."
Jack pushes his brother away. Jack said, "Move Dallas."
Jack then led me to the kitchen. He got out the first aid. I sat them on the counters. I then checked them. They scrapped their knees. Silver had scrapped his elbows as well. I put a few bandages and kissed the bandages. I got them down and said, "There you."
Silver hugs my leg. Jack hugs me and said, "Thank you Jay."
I ruffled their hair and they walked off. I walked past the brother. I said, "You make Silver cry and I will throw you across the street. Understood?"
He nodded. He said, "Be here at 6:30 to take them to school."
I rolled my eyes. I left and went back into the car. I drove off. I sat on the couch and read. It was about 6 when my stomach grumbled. I got out my leftover sandwich and ate it. I got a call a few hours later from an unknown number. I let it ring. I listened to the voice mail.
It was Dallas. He said, "Make your brother shut up!"
I was in a tank top and some sweatpants. I did not have time to grab a sweatshirt. I drove and walked up. Silver came running out and hugged me. I bent down and said, "I will stay with you until you fall asleep. Lead me."
He leads me. We went into Jack's room. Jack was crying. I said, "What is wrong Jack?"
He said in a sniffled voice, "Does Silver not like my room?"
I laughed quietly and said, "He loves it. He just is a little scared. I will be staying with him until he falls asleep."
He nodded. I pulled out the projector. It always helped him. I pulled out my book and began to read. He motioned for me to get on the bed. I took off my shoes and but my back to the wall and began to read. Silver laid his head on my shoulder. Watching me read.
He fell asleep 30 minutes later. I picked him up and laid him back down. I kissed his forehead and he half smiled. I walked down. I then bumped into Celina. I am pretty sure it is Celina. I smiled and said, "You must be Celina."
She nods and sticks out her hand. I shake it. She said, "You shake suprising firm."
I laugh and said, "Sorry for bumping into you."
She laughed and said, "Oh it is fine. Would you mind joining me for some wine?"
I nodded. I usually do not drink. She said, "You seem to be to responsible to drink. Do you want some juice?"
I laughed and said, "Sure. What do you got?"
She replied, "Apple, orange, cranberry apple."
I replied, "Cranberry apple would be nice."
She got out two wine glasses.She poured me some juice and her some wine. She said, "I take it Jack is attached to you."
I laughed and said, "I think so. But there is something that happened today that I have to inform you."
She nodded. She said, "What is it?"
I sighed and said, "Some kids were picking on Jack. Silver intervened. They are both fine. Nothing more than some scratches. But I thought you would want to know."
She nods. She said, "Thank you for taking care of them. You seem very close to Silver."
I nodded. I said, "Yeah. Mom always is working. She leaves early and comes late. I also have a favor to ask you."
She nodded and took a sip. I said, "I will be going to Lilith Academy next year. And dorms are mandatory. I was wondering if Silver could stay here."
She nodded and said, "Of course. I know I just met you yesterday but I fully trust you."
I smile at that. I sigh and said, "I better get going. Would you like me to drop them off at school tomorrow?"
Celina shook her head. She said, "No. I can do it."
I washed out my cup and waved goodbye to her. I drove back home. Mom was home. I walked into her dimly lit room with a sandwich. I placed it on her bedside table. I said, "I brought you a sandwich. Make sure you eat."
She nodded sleepily. I walked out. I got into bed when my phone rang. It was an unknown number. I let it ring. I then listened to the voicemail. It said, "Hey cutie. I am super drunk right, oh look at that car. What was I saying? Oh yeah. I am at the bar on Silk."
I am pretty sure this is Dallas. Jack's older brother. I got up and went to the bar there. I was right. Dallas was there with his friends. I got out. I had my sweatshirt in hand. I put it on. I walked up to them. Dallas turned to me. He stepped towards me. He fell slightly. I had to catch him. I said, "I am pretty sure I have to take you home."
He then grabbed my face. He pressed his lips hard against mine. His tongue exploring my mouth. I pushed him away and said, "Gross. You are drunk."
He winked at me and said, "And if I was not drunk?"
I replied, "Well, if you were not so rude then you might have a shot. But it is getting thinner and thinner."
He then waddles to the car. He misses and walks into the street. There was a car coming at him. I tackle him out of the way. I pressed him closer to me to protect him. I got up and said, "Let's just go."
I wrapped his arm around my shoulder. He put his weight on me as I carried him. I said, "Will your friends me okay?"
He nodded. He said, "Oh yes. That have rides as well."
I put him in the front seat and buckle him in. I then drove to his house. I parked and dragged him in. I knocked on the door. Nothing. I sighed and said, "They might already be asleep."
