Chapter 3: Family
When the car came to a stop Yuri sighed lightly when he saw what the reason was.
He knew already that his royal father would have some guests, but that even rebellious separatists gathered on the square in front of the palace was a little bit of an annoyance for him.
It just clearly showed how unstable this country really has become.
People started to bash about the royal family to act, but in the end, the power balance was already tipping over to another side.
Yuri´s intervention and manipulation of his father's decisions only postponed the most disastrous outcomes.
"What is the report about the resistance?", asked Yuri slowly.
"There is an 80% chance that the east will revolt for independence."
"Fools that think a hibernating bear is an easy prey...Not to mention they forget the humongous snake that identifies itself as a dragon right beside them if they even succeed. I have to wonder how people can just disregard the reunified Tinza that much..."
"The Tinza barely have been unified, young lord. It has only been 6 years and its stability...is even worse than our own."
"I wonder..." Yuri scratched his chin. He knew better to keep a wary stance on such things.
Especially in this universe, he is currently in. Just for starters the first World War has not even started.
Or should he just say it ended up differently for the Gerun Kaiserreich.
´Someone, somewhere, decided that it is not yet time...´
Yuri actually had to snort in contempt at his thoughts. Just the reason why the first world war really broke out was laughable. The real reason was very easily revealed. New land to exploit - feeding the industry.
´And that poor Archduke was the perfect scapegoat to use for that overboiling conflict. Here, he still ended up assassinated a little before I was born and just washed away by time...Much earlier than my old world's time. Hmm, it could also just have been because the Russy Empire didn't support that dying nation. In the end, we had to take care of uprisings and low stability...But knowing my father he was probably worried about my mother and therefore didn't risk any wars.´
He started tapping his finger on his leg.
´Such coincidences are really not normal. What exactly pushed that revolutionaries buttons to keep pushing his agenda while there is no war that can make it easier...´ Yuri was thinking about Josef and the Red Party.
They should have only gotten into motion with the start of that war but they actually still pushed forward.
"Well, no use worrying about it now." Yuri just opened the car door and exited it after it finally parked inside the premise of the palace.
Then he walked forward to the drivers seat and knocked at the window. The driver rolled down the glass in response.
"Yes, young lord?", asked the man.
"Stay here on the ready, Maxim. I have a feeling we will need your service soon enough.", said Yuri to him and the driver only nodded back.
"As you wish, young lord."
After telling him that he started walking towards the palace entrance.
From time to time he checked if anything about his clothing was amiss. But he couldn't find anything about this very elegant suit being wrong.
Maybe he was just feeling weird wearing these clothes again. Especially those twin penguin tails at his back and the crimson red sash from his vest was kinda annoying.
"There is nothing wrong with your attire, young lord.", mentioned Maria now from behind while she was carrying his luggage.
It was luggage that he had with him when he was still in the rich people boarding school. But since Summer came they got free time from it.
"Ah, thanks. Hmm?"
Just when he thanked her he could see a small blond bolt running right at him and tackling him.
"Big Brother!!"
"Uff." He caught the little girl and made a small spin with her. "Hey there, little angel."
"You are finally back!!" The tiny girl that looked just 5 years old looked up at Yuri while still hugging him. There was a bright smile on her cute roundish face and the emerald-colored eyes twinkled in happiness.
"Of course. This is home after all. And I have a cute little sister waiting for me here." He then proceeded in pinching her cute cheeks a little before he kneeled down while showing her his back.
"Let's go and say hello to mom. Okay?"
"Yes~~" She knew exactly what he was indicating and climbed his back. Her little arms put around his neck was the sign when he pulled her up.
Together with her he started to walk forward. Her rosy little dress was not even that much of a hindrance since he was used to this.
The maid Maria was only smiling at them both from behind and followed suit.
"Did you behave well for the time I was gone, An?", asked Yuri his little baby sister.
"Yes I did! Mom also praised me when I could read the fairy tale on my own.", answered the girl that was actually named Anastasia. But for Yuri it was An for short.
"The same tale I used to read out loud for you?", smirked Yuri and asked for confirmation.
"Yes, the one with Snow White!"
"That is good to hear. So I don't need to read it for you anymore, huh?"
"No~~~. Big brother, there is still Cinderella...Pwease?"
Yuri had to chuckle a little. "But only if you really behaved. You didn't go and collect worms and insects from the garden, did you?"
There was a small pause in her answer and her voice even became quieter. "No..."
"Very good. You know. I think I will tell you a new story this time. How about that?" Yuri knew she was not telling the truth but didn't keep insisting on it since it was a matter that would not change even if he reprimanded her.
And truth be told, he also tended to spoil her too much by keeping quiet about the unladylike things she does.
"Yes! I would like that! Thank you, big brother!" She was now intensifying her hug from behind and leaning her head on his shoulder.
With her in tow like that, he finally arrived at a room. The maid Maria opened the door for him so that he could enter.
Looking around in the room he could see a woman with blond hair and emerald eyes looking back at him. She was wearing a white dress and had many pieces of jewelry that strengthened her royal aura.
There was also something else. She was the spitting image of the little girl on his back or vise versa.
"Mother...I am back."
The woman smiled at him. "Welcome back, dear."
Then she looked at his sister on the back and sighed. "Look, your sister just fell asleep on your back. That little troublemaker." Saying that she went ahead and softly picked up the soundly breathing girl from his back and held her in her embrace.
"She seems to have been trying too hard to stay awake." Yuri only smiled back wryly. He could actually imagine how she would keep herself awake just not to miss him coming back.
"Have you been well, mother?" He added.
"Yes, I am fine. But your father is..." Her demeanor became a little bit worried. "...He is asking for you. You should visit him in his office since you have arrived."
At that moment the smile Yuri had on his face slowly faded and he even scratched the back of his head with one hand.
"Then I will be going. I should not let father wait..."

Soulcrystal Yes, I gave China the name of Tinza and changed German to Gerun. I will change it if ever information comes about the name of that country or what Empire "The Empire" is :D
