"Shouldn't we be heading to their place already?" Brennan asked Bright and wore his shoe. The both of them lives on the same house since Brennan doesn't have anyone anymore except his dog whose name was Doggy. He was color black with the little brown eyebrow. He was to be away, so he entrusted him to their old neighbor who was very much happy to have him. It has been 3 days since they last saw the group they were going to join that day- but they kept on communicating with each other. Brennan, after sending his dog away sat on the sofa and took a nice deep breath and relaxed as he leaned on it. He heard the waters dripping from the shower and decided to sleep because Bright would probably take such a sweet long time on his shower. However, as he was about to sleep, droplets of water came attacking his face- it was Bright and he looked happy at himself for pranking Brennan.
"Let's go now." Bright said as Brennan just wiped his face with his towel.
They walked silently, without any attempt to even talk about the things they were about to eat because Nick had pestered them the night before with so many foods that Joy's Nana had prepared. It was too early in the morning but the people in the city looked so lively as everyone walked in groups as lovers or family. For some reasons, Brennan doesn't feel alone because Bright was at his side and he like all his lonesome Christmas had ended- his parents and siblings died when he was young and since then, he was supported by the sister of his father but they never met each other because she was overseas that sometimes he thinks that she was not even real.
It took them hours to arrive at the train station nearest to their destination and they were fetched by Nathan, who was wearing the clothes he bought at the mall few days ago. He was busy looking at his screen because Bright decided not to reply and prank him as well. Nathan almost jumped because of surprise when Bright jumped in front of him and purposely made him think that they were lost. Nathan just laughed it off and led them towards Joy's house where Nick and Mari were already waiting as they were munching happily.
"We're here." Nathan said and a woman who looked exactly like Joy but older version. They had the same eyes but the person in front of them has blue eyes.
"So you are Bright and you are Brennan." She smiled at them warmly and the both of them submitted to her embrace like two kids that were lost but already found. "I am Josephine, her grandmother. Come in." Nathan embraced her as well and came in to see the other three laughing merrily. "Your friends are here."
Joy and the other two looked at them and invited them over to the garden where a hut that looked so fresh stood. Brennan and Bright looked amazed to see such beautiful and blooming garden and stepped onto the hut where the foods were already served. Beside Joy was Ray whom she introduced to the newcomers the moment they sat down and started munching tons of food that was prepared in front of them. Their talk lasted long as they played random party games and other things such as singing or jamming. In the end, they all decided to go to the lake and stroll after eating their lunch. The peaceful scenery enchanted both Brennan and Bright and the both of them closed their eyes as they enjoyed the crisp sparkles of the sea together with the other families that gathered there to have a nice picnic. The six of them settled on a mat that Joy prepared before going there and continued eating.
Christmas day was peaceful and happy but Bright cannot take his eyes away from Joy. He wasn't attracted to her but he felt like he has some kind of connections to her that was more than a feeling of friends. Was it because she was a former chosen? He wasn't sure anymore- but what he was certain about was that she looked more depressed and new cuts were printed on her arms that it terrified him. Sooner or later, Nick, Mari, and Nathan went home but Bright and Brennan stayed at the hut for a night and Joy payed them a visit.
"Hey." Bright said the moment he saw that Joy was approaching with linens. "Nice cottage you got right here."
"Thank you." She smiled genuinely and gave them the linens. She sat down on the entrance of the hut and sighed in relief. "I am so happy you got to celebrate Christmas with us."
Bright studied her and he knew that there will be an endless questioning because of her truly determined eyes. He wasn't wrong because she started asking questions.
"Do you know anyone called Yvan?" she asked and looked at the firefly that went straight to the flower below her. "He have the same necklace as the both of you. Are you by any chance triplets?"
"What gave you that Idea?" Brennan said and leaned on his pillow that was too cozy he nearly fell asleep.
"Because all of you are all mysterious in a way and hat is very intriguing. Before I knew you, some fragments of my memories were distorted, and the others as well- but the moment I saw you, some fragments came back and I was able to remember some details about a certain person I kept on seeing on my dreams." Joy said as Bright gulped and sweat started forming in his nose- an obvious sign of his nervousness. He was about to reply but Joy kept talking. "For some reasons, I feel so comfortable with the both of you."
"You can tell me whatever you want since I am your friend. I promise you, there will be no judgements." Bright said and hoped to cheer her up a bit.
"That is very nice of you." Joy said. "But I don't know where to begin."
"It's okay.. you can say anything."
"No judgements?"
"NO Judgements."
