"Their personal data are here." Their class adviser who was really young and fit, which Light remembered to be called Miss Anna said as he entered the room where the interview has been conducted. She was holding pieces of papers that appeared to be their information sheets.
"I feel like investigated." Nathan said but that really doesn't care mush because he sees that interview as an opportunity.
"I need to go now" Joy told them and entered the room as soon as Miss Anna exited. Light still hasn't recovered from the conversation he had with the head guardian. He knew exactly what would happen and he didn't need anyone to emphasize it for him. He did not even want to think about it but the head guardian dealt him the death blow. He was getting too emotional and the cuts on his wrists were hurting him so badly that tears were forming in his eyes. His necklace was also glowing but not twinkling. Just the thought about his new mission made him tremble with fear because neither him nor Joy could possibly take more damage from the missions. However, Joy's necklace had been glowing eerily- he knew it was glowing but it seems like it doesn't because it has become too dark to notice.
His thoughts clouded his emotions as he stood frozen in front of the room as he waited patiently for Joy. However, he was distracted because the necklace was glowing and it was hot against his skin for he tucked it so Joy wont be able to see it.
"Why do you seem uncollected?" Light was poked lightly on the shoulder by a gentle hand. He looked at the owner of the hand coldly, causing her to back down. "S-sorry."
"Why are you saying sorry?" He asked. "It's not like you are doing anything wrong."
"Sorry for saying sorry I-"
"Fallon, by the way, I'm fine." Light said and smiled a little. He had been thankful for the poke he got because it woke him up.
Everything went silent as they sat down the chairs lined up outside of the classroom. No one dared to make a sound because their principal entered the room and eyed them hard so they'd be intimidated. However, a sudden, loud, hilarious sound echoed in the entire hallway as Light's tummy grumbled in hunger. The group tried so hard not to laugh because his tummy grumbled multiple times and it was so loud that even the cold Fallon nearly burst into laughter.
"I'm hungry and my diarrhea is bad. Please notify the teachers." He said casually and left them giggling.
________
A woman who was approximately taller that Joy came into view as Light went to the school nearest to them. She had a dark skin tone and soft-looking black hair that extended up to her shoulder that was covered with faded blonde highlights. She was sitting at the cafeteria alone and all the other people were ignoring her. Her table was the only one that was not crowded. Light can see her side profile but her bangs were covering her eyes. Just as he was about to come close, she stood up and left and Light came running to catch up to her. She headed to her class and took her bag. Apparently, their class was cut short due to the matters that their teacher had to attend. Light continuously followed her as she left their school but it has been an hour of walking and she still hadn't stopped. Light was too exhausted to even walk but he still tried his best until they passed his school and their home- and that was when he figured out that she meant to go to the beach. She removed her black shoes and socks and walked at the shore. She let her hair go with the flow of the wind and she looked like she was one with the wind for she started to dance gracefully and heartwarmingly. She danced and turned around and her hair looked so beautiful as it followed her every move. On her last turn, Light's eyes widened because he met her eyes as she stopped moving and for some reasons, the breeze became even colder. There were tears in her eyes as she stopped and her eyes looked like she was tired and it was begging for help to anyone who could see her. Light found out that the look in her eyes was indescribable because it projected too much things- it was like he could see her pain through her eyes that he wanted to comfort her that instant.
There was too much pain in her heart that even her eyes started to feel sorry for herself.
"How rare and beautiful it is that we exist." She hummed as she looked directly at Light who seemed astound that she could see her. She went closer to him. "You."
Light gulped. He felt like he was being confronted as she was getting closer to him. He felt trapped and unable to do anything because he can almost see all the words that keep hurting her tattooed on her skin and she gave a tremendous aura of sadness.
Out of all the people he saved, she was the one that freaked him out the most.
She came closer and closer and when she was the closest to him, she maintained at least a meter of distance between them. She studied him.
"You."
Light pushed himself to at least look at her but avoid her eyes which took a toll on him but she remained calm and collected.
"Can you feel my pain? Can you feel my suffering?" she asked him and went to the shore and sat down.
"I believe that all humans are pre-existing souls." She said and looked at the sea. "They were given a body to enhance and that body contained everything- talents, attitudes, everything. How unfortunate of me to end up having this body." She breathed hard and closed her eyes. "Do you believe in the deity?"
"I do believe him." Light replied and sat down beside her.
"I also do but sometimes, I can't get his logic at all!" She said. "I'm Erika by the way."
Light pondered hard because he can completely relate to her. He had been given more missions to do even if he was nearly at his limit.
"I am Light." He replied and tried to look at her eyes but he was overwhelmed with just her aura.
"Why do you exist Light?" she asked him and he was frozen.
For the past months, he did not even think about that because he was preoccupied by the missions he had.
And the most haunting of all is that his life starts to be unbearable now.
