Joy thought that they were running endlessly until they have reached the rooftop of their building. Light let go of her trembling hand as she catched her breath and held her chest which was about to explode because it was beating so loud and so fast it had almost driven her into insanity.
"What's - your - deal?" she asked between frail breaths and she glared at Light , who was already sitting in front of her, his silver hair catching the sunlight, making it shine so bright it almost blinded Joy's eyes- coupled by his golden eyes that were paying attention to her actions.
"Have you thought about it?" He asked with a very serious tone in his voice, making Joy come to her senses again. "I hope you did- because a mission awaits us."
"W-what kind of r-rubbish is that?" Joy asked, irritated because for the first time in her life, she wasn't able to comprehend something.
"If you really are that skeptical, I must say faithless- towards me, you should have at least told me so that I could have done something about that. Open your necklace and look at the time." he told Joy with an icy cold tone which she immediately followed. The clock inside looked like a typical white clock, but if one looks at it deeply, there were intricate and complicated patterns behind the white background. The hands of the clock had stopped at 6:27 pm- and the cover of the clock shows a certain location- the rooftop of the building next to them.
"What's the meaning of-"
"That is the time when a suicide will happen, and that is where it will happen." he said, looking so worried while he pointed at the clock then at the cover [back of neclace]. "Come with me and see what your mission looks like. Please." he said, pleading at Joy who looked so indecisive and confused, replying only with a rather skeptical nod. Light showed him his necklace that had a picture of a jet-black haired girl with a very sad eyes.
"I-I know her... She was expelled last year, that is Corriene!" Joy exclaimed, remembering the friendly person who was expelled due to a certain accident, which involved another student being found unconscious at the end of the stairs, with her standing at the other end of it. "It seems like she was involved with that, and people thought that she pushed her off, and before I knew it, she was already expelled."
"Maybe that's why. Just come with me after the afternoon classes and I'll help her." Light said, leaving Joy behind her as she sat there, completely dumbfounded with how strange things have gotten so far.
