Chapter 13: The discounts
Me, Ron, Fiona, and Marcus have come to the Kingdom of Hungarian to escort the persons who were driving the carriages to their destination. I was still curious about what we're in those carriages, but I decide to ignore that because it is futile to ask if we finished our job. Now we have another task, to find a tavern where to stay until morning because we can't take a carriage to deliver us to our Kingdom in this night for the simple the carriages aren't available at night. So the only option we got was to walk, but we can't because some of us are tired. And the last option was this, to stay in a Tavern this night.
Marcus and Ron, we're leading the way to a Tavern because they said they knew in this Kingdom a good Tavern where we can sleep at a cheap price and we can eat whatever we want at a cheap price too. Fiona and I had no choice so we have to trust Ron and Marcus with this one. Apparently, for Fiona, it is the first time when she stays in the night in this Kingdom after he told me that while we were walking on the streets of the Kingdom of Hungaria.
"You were here at other times?" I ask Fiona while four of us were walking on the streets.
"Yes. But here I have a bigger connection than in our Kingdom," she responds.
"Huh? What do you mean?"
"Some people from this Kingdom knew me and my family very well," Fiona said that while she waved at a stranger who was about to close a business building who is written in a language I have never learn.
It seems like this Kingdom is way too different from the Kingdom where I live. First of all, the names of the shop are written differently than the ones in the Kingdom I live in. And second of all, the citizens of this Kingdom wear clothes that in the Kingdom would cost even twenty or fifty coins. So in conclusion, every Kingdom from this planet is way different than in the one I live in.
We were walking for a few minutes on the streets and we discovered a Tavern almost identical to that one from the Kingdom of Romania, but the name was different and was written in that Hungarian language. Fiona told me this the place where we are going to stay overnight. Marcus, Fiona, and Ron were walking ahead, and I was staying on the back because I have a bad feeling about this thing. Just in case, I prepared my wand and I memorize the name of the spell "Highway of Hell" because that spell is useful and not that dangerous like "T.N.T.".
Those three guys entered the Tavern and nothing happens, not an attack or a crazy drunk guy or a crazy woman in her drinking habit. After a few seconds, I entered the Tavern and I saw a thing I did not expect. Marcus and Fiona, they were kissing in front of the bartender, I was so confused at that scene because Fiona and Marcus were acting like some guys who are just hatting each other. What happened in those seconds while I was busy looking around?
Ron comes to me and he whispers to my ears: "Those two are faking the scene.". And then I looked at him confused and I ask him what is talking about, but he pointed at Fiona and Marcus who took the key to their rooms and goes upstairs. The first thing in my mind while they were going upstairs was they are going to do that thing, but Ron says to me.
"Those two were trying to get a cheap discount for a room. Apparently, couples can get minus fifty percent in a room... I don't know what percent is but I guess it is very important if are a grown-up." says Ron to me.
"Oh... Then they aren't a real... couple?" I ask Ron.
"No they aren't, and they never will be because of how they act. What kind of a stupid would be a couple with a person he hates?"
"Yeah... Now I see what was going on." I respond to Ron while both of us were trying to obtain a room from that bartender who is an old man with a big red beard.
When we obtain the rooms we are going to stay overnight we decide to go to our rooms. Ron got a room at the second floor and I got the last one on the first floor. But we don't know in what room are Fiona and Marcus, and we don't even know if those guys are in the same room.
I entered my room and my first impression was nothing really offensive. The room looks like a normal one and it had even a few books on a desk. I decided to put my backpack on the bed and to go and check the books on that desk because I am still like a bookworm even after I left the Orphanage. I sit on that chair from the desk and I started to open those five books from that desk.
When I opened the book I found something weird, the language those books were written as the same one in the Kingdom of Romania. This makes me feel relive because I thought those books were probably written in the Hungarian language but apparently not everything is written in that language who almost impossible to learn. I looked at that book, I read a few paragraphs and I discovered this book is just a novel about a guy who is trying to find his Father. The entire night I stay to read that book because while we were traveling I slept in the carriage and I didn't feel even a lightest desire to sleep until it was past three hours. After that hour, I decided to sleep because tomorrow we are going to go back to our Kingdom to announce the King our mission was successful.
After a few hours, in the morning, the Fiona knocked on my door and she was asking me if I am ready to leave, but I was still on the bed, barely awake when she knocked on the door. I tried to leave the bed, but the body didn't cooperate completely because those four hours of sleep started to say their words. It takes three minutes, but I did. I leave the bed, I was pitting my clothes on me from yesterday and I was putting my backpack for carrying important things, even though I don't really have many things in this bag. I left the room and I saw Fiona, Marcus, and Ron waiting for me.
"Took you long enough," says Marcus to me.
"Sorry. It was my fault because I sleep at three." I respond to those three teammates.
"It's okay," says Fiona. "But what were you doing at that hour?"
"I was reading."
"I see," she responds to me. "Alright, let's leave this place, and let's take the carriages to our Kingdom," she says to everybody while she was walking away.
I, Ron, and Marcus decide to follow her to that carriage who is going to transport us to the Kingdom.
