Chapter 19: How am I going to live without you
Aaradhana POV:
I started packing my clothes as today is Friday as I have to go home for weekend.
As I told lakshmi akka that I'll be going home on week end. I don't have to worry now.
On my way to bus stand I got a call from Arjun
"Where are you devil? Your chinamma informed my mother that she will be coming Chennai for attending Uma akka marriage "
I thought "Why didn't I know anything about Uma akka marriage".
( Uma akka - cousin of Arjun, Grand child of chinamma's paternal mother)
( Uma akka used to love me a lot.She treats me as her own sister.
How come she didn't tell me anything about her marriage.)
I told Arjun,"I am in bus stand now. I'll come by bus"
He said "Stay there.I'll pick you up.I can't go home alone.Mom order"
I waited for him, He came with Riyaz,madhu and Rupali.
In home:
As soon I reached home Poorva athai hugged me tightly and told "I miss you so much Aara. I want to keep you with me forever. Will you marry Arjun?" and winked her left eye.
(Poorva athai loves me alot.Because she is the close friend of Sushma Amma )
I told athai don't joke, and went near chinamma. Although she hates me, I miss her a lot. I hugged her.
She pinched my hand without anyone notice while hugging and told,"Don't develop feelings in your mind. I'll not allow you to marry Arjun till I am alive"
Remembering the moments I spent with Arjun I cried in mind" I love you a lot Arju.I don't know how I am going to live without you"
Arjun then introduced his friends to Poorva athai.
After having dinner elders had a chat in balcony.
While I was cleaning the utensils.Riyaz told me,"Aaradhana .Help me yaar . I want to spend time with madhu.Can you keep this bag in Arjun room"
When I went to Arjun room , I heared a voice"Some one there ?. Water is not coming and my body is covered with soap.can you get me a bucket of
water ".
Piting him I bought a bucket of water to him, I told "Arjun.I kept bucket with water outside the bathroom door.You can take the bucket once I go out"
He then asked,"Aaru Is that you?"
I told "Yes".He then asked me a towel. I gave him
He said," Aaru listen carefully. Soap went inside my eyes. It's paining. I'll wrap my body with towel.Help me in washing my face.ok.."
I asked ,"How can I? I'll call Riyaz"
He grunting in pain scolded,"I am telling you it's paining .Still you are not helping me. I'll not leave you if I become blind"
Being afraid ,''Arjun.wrap yourself with towel. Once you done tell me"
He said ''Get in now."
I helped him wash his face .His eyes was so red.
I told him "i'll come in a moment"
I washed his eyes with drinking water. He became normal after sometime.Suddenly Poorva athai came to Arjun room searching me.
I asked Arjun,"How will she react .If she see us in this state?"
He said ,"Well...she'll marry you to me.Then you 'll be my slave forever.And I'll be having fun throughout my life "
Poorva athai asked "Anyone there in the bathroom?"
Arjun said ,"Amma I am here I am bathing. you want anything?"
She asked him "Did you see Aara?'
when Arjun was about to reply "Yes", I closed his mouth with my hands. I signalled him " Don't tell"
Poora athai asked "Why no reply?"
Arjun said(holding my hands) ,"Is she missing?. Mom you wait here .I 'll change my dress and come.
When he was about to change his clothes, I told,"Go after mother leaves.If she sees us like this .She 'll mistake us"
Arjun said "You don't want to marry me that badly.Then I'll go out for sure"
When he was about to change his clothes,I hugged him behind his back to stop him
Releasing my hands from him,"He started moving closer to me".I moved backwards automatically.
Suddenly water started coming from shower as I switched on the motor before getting bucket of water.
I and Arjun got completely drenched.
Arjun removed my glasses and and stared at my eyes for few seconds and whispered in my ears,"Don't tempt me girl. I cannot control it always"
I pushed him away telling,"Arjun.Dont joke like this anymore"
I told him ," I can go out.Only if she's out of the room.Make her to get out of the room.I promise I''ll be your slave in upcoming lives also"
He smiled at me and said Poorva athai."Amma, you search for her.I'll join you after changing my clothes"
After ensuring Poorva athai left the room.I came out. Suddenly Arjun went ahead of me and locked the door.
I asked him, "What are you doing?."He closed my.mouth and showed the floor which was filled with water,"If you go like this from my room they amma will find that something happened in the room."
He then moved closer to me and as always, I moved backwards this time my back rested in cupboard. He then came close to me . I turned my face to side. He pushed me to side lightly and opened the cupboard and gave me a towel.
I asked him, "What about my dress? It's in Anitha room"
He thinked for a while "Wear my t-shirt and tracks now.I'll go out. As you and anitha will be sleeping in my room.... "
I interuppeted,"Where will you go..Will you also sleep here'"
He pinched my nose and said teasingly,"I know you want to sleep with me badly (evil smile) . But situation didn't match baby as there is Riyaz and others. If you want to stay that badly means I can send them Away.It's not late anyways"
I thought ". Pzzzz First of all,why did you bring them to our family function "
Arjun interrupted (in teasing voice),"Hey filthy,I know you what to spend time with me that badly.But Riyaz wanted to see how marriages wil
be happening in our family as he is a Muslim.So I bought him,madhu. As you know well Rupali clinged to me seeing them coming".
He than gave me his T-shirt of size L and a 3/4th night pant
He said " Get inside the bathroom and change. I'll change here "
As I don't know what to respond,
He came near me and in teasing voice said,"If you wish we can both change here "
When he kept his hand in towel to remove (I was staring at him As I didn't come to sense after what he said) He pinched my cheeks and said"Ok. Wait till we reach college you girl." and he took his clothes and went inside bathroom .
(coming back to sense)I asked myself "Aara what did you do now?. You should go to bathroom right when he gave an opportunity. Think what will he do to you after reaching college.Change your clothes now"
I got changed my clothes and started drying my hair. He ran near me fast and switch ed off the drier he said,"Do you any idea what are you doing. Mom knows that I don't use drier.If she hears drier sound, she''ll suspect and come inside room.This is Anitha hair drier.May be she left here by mistake"
I said "what should we do now?" After thinking he replied"Call madhu and ask her to bring your clothes.Once she comes,I"ll jump outside through window"
As madhu comes he leaves through window .Madhu was busy with her phone so she didn't notice me in Arjun's dress
Myself, Anitha stayed in Arjun room and Riyaz and Arjun were sleeping upstairs and Madhu and Rupali in Anitha's room.
During sleep I thought of things that happened with me and him today and little smile started coming out from my mouth. Realising that we'll not get married I thought,"How will I forget you after today's incident?"
