Chapter 579: LOG 28: A bit of Chemistry (Segment 2)

Dawn and Logan thanked us, went inside the door, locked themselves in without even trying if the key they had is correct as me and Valery went downstairs. The last bit where they would test the key or not for the second time was the one that would decide the fate whether this plan was meant to succeed or not. It was a fifty-fifty, but we had luck on our side.

"The Nutmeg won't kill them, right?"

"Of course not. They'll just hallucinate for hours."

"Okay."

We waited for thirty minutes, and added an extra thirty minutes just for safety measures that they're really hallucinating.

---

Dawn's Perspective:

Where an instant before there was no-one at all now stood a girl, no more than seventeen and as fresh as a rain-drop. She stood in flowing white linens that no money can buy anymore. Despite the fact that she must have trekked through the bush to get to that spot there wasn't any dirt on her. She stood barefooted in the midnight moon, almost translucent. Then she pointed across the river to the far bank. I followed her gesture and there in the reeds was a boat. It was our way out of here, I turned to thank her and where she had been there was no trace of a person. I hurried to the spot she had stood on and the grass was not even pressed down.

"Logan?" I called in fright, stepping foot away from the girl little by little. She came closer and soon began crawling. I could barely remember where I was but something kicked in my brain that kept me wondering if I was supposed to be on grass or on the floor.

My sight diminished until all I could see was darkness. The light was concentrated on the girl. I couldn't focus. She looked horrid.

Suddenly, while stepping, my back tackled into something hard. I was unsure of what it was due to what I could see is restricted, but if I were to make a hunch, it would be a tree. From the tree, it began to bleed. I screamed and ran, soon finding myself on Logan's arms.

"Are you alright?"

"Where are we?"

"Where else?" He laughed but it didn't sound like his laugh at all. The creepy girl by now was finally gone, but still, Logan whom was comfortable to me for all this time was not anymore.

He smirked and pinched me tighter. I grappled from his arms and moved away. "You're not Logan!"

Soon after, I looked back and saw some orbs circling me. I shivered, my spine nearly collapsed with the intensity it held. Immediately, I went back to the tree and curled myself there for hours, waiting for the sun to rise.

---

Luna's perspective:

It was a whole lot of fun. I, who took the orbs and joggled them in front of Dawn whose eyes were glowing red, nearly laughed, but I tried to hold it. Now she sat curled like a ball under the table she almost knock out. She would be needing to clean the floor after their large soda spilled.

Meanwhile, Valery who played as Logan and the white girl did just right to give touch to her own horrific story. As for the real Logan, he was at the corner of the room already so we didn't mind him that much.

We rushed out, closed the door and slid the right key inside their room.

"I feel both guilty and not guilty to have played with their emotions."

"You'll get used to it," I said and patted her back. "We got what we needed at least!"

"Yes."

"Then come on. It's time to head out to the Carmen Desert."

"Will they be alright?"

"Of course. That's why I locked their door. No maid would enter to find them like that. Alas, if they did, they'd be going to the asylum straight of, and, I don't want that."

"Why?"

"Maybe because that would be too much."
