Chapter 298: EPISODE 78: Ghost-ing Up the Notch!

In the library, books aplenty, I drew in my sketch-pad, the looks of the Ruby. For one whole night, it apparently bothered my mind. I for one, do not seem to panic that much anymore. Besides, the island our headquarters rest upon is very far from Hoenn mainland.

Though, there were thoughts that seemed to counter me and knowing the headquarters rests upon an island, is quite a weak point for flash-floods especially when Team Aqua emerges Kyogre from the cavern. I observed my surroundings, Melchior, and the rest of Team Rocket did not seem to be panic-stricken.

The goal of ours remains steadfast as all of our grunts remain heavily focused especially Professor Olive who seemed to be working day and night only to solve the mystery behind our ticket to space, Rayquaza to obtain our prize, Deoxys, for the good of our technology.

As I drew, little Misdreavus is becoming a bit mischievous again, trying to bite my art equipment only to gain my attention. While drawing the bottom of the ruby with my pencil, Misdreavus grabbed it from me and brought it to the sky. She then swiveled around with it, and I had no choice but to pout at her.

"Hey! Return that pencil Misdreavus, it's not time to play." pouting at her, I earnestly beg for her to return the pencil while Melchior, sitting at the very corner of the library giggled softly while watching us play.

"Humph, I won't groom you later if you won't give me back the pencil." I bargained mischievously. Hearing my words, she immediately let go of the pencil, causing it to land atop my head.

"You're being too playful." and as a reward, I grabbed her from the sky and tickled her belly, giving all my attention to her.

The moment I placed the tip of my pencil to my sketch-pad everything started to become peculiar. My surroundings were warping all of a sudden as all the people were gone, even little Misdreavus was gone for some reason. And there, twilight shrouded me as I felt a sensation of falling.

My mouth was screaming for help but no one seemed to answer, continuing to fall in a loop that never seemed to end, or so I thought. From there, my body fell upon some sort of violet grass. My surroundings were unusual for they seemed to be glass and I seemed to be atop a floating island. The thing is, there were more than hundreds of floating islands, each bumping and gliding to each other.

"Where am I?" I mumbled to myself as I stood up from the violet grass. I looked around and it felt like I was sent to space all of a sudden but with a little twitches. I tilted my eye around and there it was able to lock unto something hideous.

It was horrendous. Its silhouette is pure black and it arose from one of the islands. It had red- crimson red eyes, staring at me while making low pitched noises. It obviously has wings, but like its body, it is cloaked with darkness. It continued to emerge from the largest island amongst all when suddenly I felt that falling sensation again.

The next thing I knew, I was back at the library with the pencil tip still tapping the sketch-pad. Misdreavus was still on my grasps, begging for more tickles with her adorable and irresistible smile. I blenched, trying to recreate the world I saw in my mind but I had completely forgotten it.

"Oh well, I must be day-dreaming, that's all," I told myself as I continued to draw one of my masterpieces.

Unexpectedly, Vizion flashed to the scene, surprisingly sitting beside me while watching me draw.

"The Ruby, it looks wonderful. Why interested all of a sudden?" Vizion complimented.

"Th-thanks," I replied. I added, "It randomly popped up in my mind."

"If the basis were to be psychology, the Ruby did not randomly appear in your imagination. It is either you had seen it personally and up close, or you saw it on the television which gave you the inspiration to draw."

"Oh um... Well, I saw it on the television." I broadened my smile, hiding the truth that I had seen the Ruby without knowing it was the Ruby.

"I see. That Misdreavus of yours, is always that playful?" Vizion then addressed my little cutie, begging for more tickles with her sorrowful eyes.

"Oh, Misdreavus? She's always like a baby."

"I guess it is time for her to grow mature. Here, if I may, I'd like to give you this dusk stone since I find no purpose for it- for my team of six at least." He offered, showing a violet stone, very lustrous indeed.

"Wait, you want me to evolve Misdreavus?"

"It is up to the Pokemon. If she wants to stay immature then so be it, if she is willing to evolve then give it to her. Usually, it is the trainer who decides the fate of their Pokemon but I thought differently. It should be the Pokemon to choose its own faith and not us. Our only goal as people is to help them achieve their desired fates, their destiny."

I then looked at Misdreavus, and she seemed very interested in the stone. Her eyes were sparkling, and there I knew she wanted to evolve. To double-check, I asked her, "Are you willing to evolve?" Misdreavus responded with a nod.

"Thank you." I greeted Vizion, my cheeks were a bit pink. I tossed the stone up to the sky, and there, Misdreavus drifts above and opens her mouth widely. The stone fell directly to her mouth, and in a few seconds, she gobbled it a whole.

She was swathed with a white veil, continuously shrouding her until her whole image changed. She grew less dark, more violet, and purple. She now has a witch's hat which gives her this majestic appearance.

According to the Pokedex, [Mismagius! The Magical Pokemon! A ghost type! Feared for its wrath and the curses it spreads, this Pokémon will also, on a whim, cast spells that help people. From Misdreavus to Mismagius, it has learned two and replaced two moves. Her current move-set includes: Shadow Ball, Dark Pulse, Mystical Fire, Thunderbolt.]

Though looking all scary, in the inside, she was still the same, playful as she'll always be. Once more, she took my pencil, swirling above the sky and gathering my attention again. I guess there are some things that never change. I tried to grab for the pencil while Vizion and the rest of the grunts inside the library laugh.
