Chapter 11: Preparation
Li Jing was lost in his thoughts.
'Only three days left before the Auction House event. I will definitely not let Teng Fen get this item. Not only this item will be very useful to me but if Teng Fen doesn't get it, it will also significantly slow down his power increase.'
"Young Master?"
Li Hua's call brought him back to reality.
"Sister Hua, I want you to prepare a carriage for me in three days. I will participate in the auction." He said, smiling.
"Really?!" She asked with widened eyes.
Li Hua was shocked. Her Young Master hadn't left the Li clan compound since the death of his mother, seven years ago.
Of course, Li Jing knew why Li Hua reacted like this. After all, the original Li Jing had been traumatized by the death of his mother. She was killed by the Red Hand Organization.
The Red Hand Organization was actually not a group of criminals. It was an organization that was against the four Great Clans. The organization accused the Great Clans to be tyrants, to monopolize all the cultivation resources for them and only giving their leftovers to the others. Many small clans and martial families secretly supported the organization.
Of course, the four Great Clans knew of their existence but didn't think much about it. For them, this organization was similar to a group of ants. They just ignore it.
But one day, seven years ago, the Red Hand Organization tried to kidnap the original Li Jing because they wanted to use him in order to organize a negotiation meeting with the four Great Clans. However, an accident happened and Li Jing's mother died while trying to protect her son.
Furious, Li Jing's father gathered the other Great Clan leaders and eradicated the Red Hand Organization.
All of this was not explained in the web novel since Li Jing was only a minor character and the Red Hand Organization no longer existed at the start of the story.
"Yes. After all, I'm an adult now that the ceremony is over. I will cultivate now, I'm counting on you." He said, smiling.
Meaning that he has grown up and was not afraid of leaving the clan compound anymore.
Li Hua nodded vigorously and Li Jing entered his bedroom.
Inside, Li Jing put his new daggers on the table, sat cross-legged on the floor, and took out the four jade slips containing the Martial techniques he chose in the Martial Art Pavilion.
But before reading them, he decided to first check what was inside his spatial ring.
Spatial rings were rare and expensive, only a few people had one in the Sky Jade Kingdom.
A spatial ring could be crafted by an experienced blacksmith from a very rare type of spiritual ore called Void Ore. This ore possessed a natural affinity for Spatial Laws. However, because it was extremely hard to smelt it, it could only be used to craft small things like rings.
Li Jing injected his Qi inside his spatial ring and could suddenly visualize a small dark dimension with items stored inside of it. He could see that there were three middle-sized boxes and one large box inside the dimension. He was slightly disappointed because the dimension was rather small, probably only around ten cubic meters.
When Li Jing tried to think about retrieving one of the boxes, it immediately materialized in front of him.
'It actually works exactly like the inventory of my system.' He thought.
Li Jing materialized the four boxes in front of him and opened them to check what was inside of them.
Inside the first box, he found around one hundred Qi Gathering Pills. Li Jing mentally thanked his grandfather, he was glad to have received so many pills. After all, each one of these pills could give him 30 XP. Adding these one hundred pills to the fifty he already received from his father, he now had one hundred and fifty pills. He could, therefore, gain 4500 XP by consuming them all!
Inside the second box, he found around fifty Healing Pills. The Healing Pills were rank-1 pills, and, as the name suggested, they could heal external and internal injuries. However, since they were only rank-1 pills, their effect was slow and they were not very effective in case of serious injuries.
Inside the third box, Li Jing saw around fifty Qi Replenishing Pills. The Qi Replenishing Pills were also rank-1 pills. When cultivators consumed them, their Qi regenerated over time. However, it was only 20% of their Qi and the pills were only effective once every two hours.
What Li Jing saw inside the fourth and largest box made his eyes sparkle. Three thousand Spirit Stones!
Spirit Stone was the money of this world. There were three grades of Spirit Stones: Inferior-grade Spirit Stones, Medium-grade Spirit Stones, and High-grade Spirit Stones. However, in the Southern Border Continent, there were only Inferior-grade Spirit Stones. Therefore, they were simply called Spirit Stones.
Spirit Stones contained a small amount of spiritual energy that could be absorbed by cultivators, but they were mostly used as money.
A Spirit Stone was not long but could be cut into five smaller stones to buy cheaper things. These smaller Spirit Stones were mostly used by civilians and poor families.
The monthly salary of a civilian family was around twenty Spirit Stones. A merchant family or a martial family could earn between two hundred to five hundred Spirit Stones per month. A noble family or a minor martial clan earned around two to three thousand Spirit Stones monthly. As for the Great Clans, they earned several dozens of thousands of Spirit Stones per month!
For the Li clan, three thousand Spirit Stones were nothing at all.
Li Jing smiled widely, it was exactly what he needed. With so much Spirit Stones, he will definitely be able to get this item during the Auction House event.
He then used his perk Appraisal on a Spirit Stones and discovered that he could actually absorb them to gain Experiences Points! However, it was only 1 XP per Spirit Stone. So, for now, he preferred keeping them to buy things he needed, and will only absorb them once he will have a large amount of them.
Li Jing was extremely pleased with his grandfather's gift.
'Next time I see him, I will have to greatly thank him!' He thought.
Li Jing stored the four boxes inside his spatial ring and started to inspect the jade slips containing his Martial techniques.
He decided to split his time between training and cultivating.
Thanks to the Food Replacement pill he didn't need to eat and while cultivating he didn't need to sleep, so he could train the whole day and cultivate the whole night. When his body will be too tired because of his excessive training, he will just take a Healing Pill and a Qi Replenishing Pill and continue his training.
This world was unfair. Cultivators with a lot of resources would always be stronger than cultivators without resources since they could train with almost no limit.
Since he only had three days left before the first main event of the novel, Li Jing chose to first focus on his two Martial techniques Instant Flash Step and Hammer Fist.
He injected his Qi inside the Instant Flash Step jade slip and started reading it.
One hour later, Li Jing was standing in the training ground behind his house. His courtyard was very large and could easily contain a training ground.
Since the original Li Jing had trained with his father since he was six years old, he obviously knew how to fight. So when Li Jing transmigrated to this world and obtained the memories of the original Li Jing, he, by extension, also knew how to fight.

'I can probably reach the Large success stage before the clan's tournament.' He thought.
