Chapter 3: Okari Smuggling
"Congratulations.... You are popular in your unnamed village enough to rename the village." Harry decided the name immediately.
"Welcome to Harryville." Everybody in the village received this popup officially declaring the name of the village.
"Due to naming of village now all residents of Harryville are allowed to elect a Village Mayor through voting. It will act like mini guild under Gamers Union. Elections will begin immediately, just think of any candidate name and it will be registered as your vote with Gamers Union."
After some time, Gamers Union announced Harry as the victor of the elections adding a third title to him "Mayor of Harryville". This added a Leadership stat of Level 5. Just like other titles this title raised his Leadership stat by 5 automatically.
Everybody congratulated Harry for becoming firstever mayor of Harryville. Various similar villages were forming all around the world. North of Harryville is Garryville another village which was under Gamers Union. South is Jakarville also under Gamers Union. West is Purapo Village under Gamers Union and East is Okari Village under Evil Union.
After some time, the interaction between villages have started and thus it didn't took long for beginning of trade practices between them. Garryville was surrounded by forest so it was good place for wood. Garry was the mayor of Garryville and skilled in woodcutting and even fletching, carpentry, wood construction etc. Garryville was famous for hunting and meat as well due to animals abundance in forest. Harryville got famous for his Hari Lake waters and fishes and even frogs and even cooking those frogs and fishes. Purapo Village was lead by a girl named Purapo as mayor. She had skills of farming and cooking. And thus this village was devoted to agriculture mostly. They domesticated cattles, hens or pigs too. Jakarville was lead by Jakar as mayor who was good at mining ores and metalsmithing. It has got Jakar mine. Okari Village was founded by Okari who is actually a smuggling boss. This village deals in shady stuff, prostitution, smuggling, robbery, thefts, murders etc. It owned an arena for battling and betting too.
This way a mini economy started among these villages. Harry decided to roam outside world and started moving towards Garryville first. So he visited his best friend named as Harjan for farewell. Harjan was very nice guy and skilled in cooking. Tourists from other villages praised his food as best in all known villages. And he usually cooked frogs or fishes caught by Harry which were excellent in quality due to his high levels in fishing. Harjan had got mixed feelings on hearing that they will be separated due to Harry's decision but he didn't mind and exchanged greetings and gifts before sending him off, as this is just temporary. Harry appointed Harjan as deputy mayor. So during absence of Harry, Harjan will be responsible for performing duties as mayor too. During this period Harry has obtained 10 leadership with his actions of decision making for villagers. But Harjan got only +2 leadership with deputy mayor title so it will be difficult for him to manage village but he will improve his leadership with time.
After a day's journey Harry managed to reach Garryville and enjoyed the beautiful scenery of forest around the village. There were many wild animals too. Harry rested in local Inn of Garryville. Next day he saw someone trying to blackmail Innkeeper. Actually innkeeper accidentally discovered that one of his customer is associated with Evil Village Okari and is smuggling drugs, alcohol in their village. So the Okari henchmen are blackmailing innkeeper to keep his mouth shut or else he will be murdered. Harry on watching this decided to help out the innkeeper which will help in improving relationship with Garryville itself too. Moreover Garryville is nearest to Harryville so who knows if Okari henchmen decide to expand their activities towards his own village too? A quest popup showed itself to Harry.....
Quest - Kill at least 6 out of 10 Okari henchmen to uproot Okari smuggling activities in Garryville Village. Reward is +5 levels in all stats. Penalty is -10% revenue of village.... Quest will be cancelled in case if target of 6 is not achievable by anybody in Garryville. This quest was showed to all gamers who are aware of the plans of Okari people which included Garry too who was mayor of Garryville.
On opposite end Okari henchmen were given quest of establishing their base in Garryville for smuggling activities. Reward is increased revenue by 10 percent. Penalty on failing quest is -5 levels in all stats of mayor of Okari.
Harry decided to meet Garry to discuss on this. He immediately sent online message to Garry revealing his identity as mayor of Harryville. Garry thanked Harry for his interest in resolving affairs of Garryville. Harry also asked for permission to practice martial arts while hunting wild animals so as to improve his strength and martial arts before battling those henchmen who may have a strength level of 2 to 5 as per his expectations. In case of any hidden master it may be as high as 10. Although he can easily beat the crap out of any of such puny level henchmen but its good to take precautions in matters of life and death. Garry granted those permissions to Harry. Harry got +1 level in leadership for this act too.
For three days Harry kept practicing woodcutting and hunting in Garryville via martial arts. Everybody mocked at the funny styles of his woodcutting and even hunting. "This joker just dance around whole day." "That guy is a kungfu woodcutter." "Heya dude, hunting and dancing combo....." Harry ignored stupid comments as he was so excited to see that he obtained hunting and woodcutting skills automatically and they were leveling up just by his martial arts practices. Moreover he got so much stuff like animals dead bodies, raw wood etc. for sale too. Martial arts and Strength levels rise up quickly after killing or defeating stronger forest animals like lions or wolves. Of course he was battered by this and bought various healing pills from both Unions online. He got other stats of Defense and Speed automatically to Level 5 after getting injured repeatedly by wild animals. He was never afraid to spend his money as he can make his money back anytime.
Harry got an idea and contacted Gamers Union helpline to ask if its possible to swap stats or not? Gamers Union replied that it is indeed possible but its not worth as you get only half points from the discarded stats. But Harry was looking at bigger picture i.e. Survival of the Fittest. He immediately discarded his extra skills like Fishing, Leadership, Hunting and Woodcutting and extracted 7 + 5 + 2 + 2 stats respectively to spend on Defense and Speed. So he added 8 points each to Defense and Speed with his new stats as Strength - 15, Martial Arts - 15, Defense - 13 and Speed - 13. He tested his stats on Lions and now he can kill a lion in a single punch. Lions didn't even get to know how they died due to increased speed of Harry. Increased defense will help him in avoiding injuries now. His bones got harder which were comparable to any large tree's trunk.
He decided to check out the events he missed in these 3 days in Garryville village. But as soon as he entered the village he saw lots of crowd gathered around a circular area.
