Chapter 3: The Road to Freedom
As I left the palace of Reina, I saw someone. Someone cloaked in a worn leather jacket, her face, it looked oddly familiar. I couldn't make out her face from here, but she was looking around, as if she was looking for someone, or lost. When she finally saw me, she stopped, and started walking towards me. And I started walking the other direction, I'm not really good with confrontations. Just humming to an old nursery rhyme when she caught up to me. She looked young, maybe around 20, when I saw her face, I finally remembered her, an old friend of mine. Princess Angel, heir of the throne of The Ring, why was she here? She stood a little over 5 feet, so she barely met my gaze. We chatted for a bit, until she asked,
"What had happened to Gaia?"
I didn't know how to respond, how did she know about Gaia, the Red Devil never let anyone survive, until me. I'm shock she asked again,
"What had happened to Gaia that made you flee your home"
I just shrugged and kept on walking, and she asked again,
"What had happened to Gaia that you came here instead of the Ring or Venus?"
"Uhm, this is the only place which could offer shelter to me." I replied
"You didn't answer me Kira, what had happened to Gaia that made you flee from your home world?"
I finally gave up and told her.
"Fine, but let's go somewhere private." I finally said
"Sure thing Kira."
We went to the nearest hotel we could stay at.
"So, what happened to Gaia." She asked
"Hate to break it to you but, uhm, I don't know how to word this, have you heard of the Red Devil?" I said
"On the Moons of Jupiter, yes I have heard of him, my mother was at the Final Reckoning. She fought there along side the Lord of Light when he sealed the Red Devil in the Tomb of Olympus Mons. So yes I have heard of his accursed name." She said
"Ok yeah he somehow broke the Chains of Regret, Sorrow, and Anger, did you not feel the shockwaves of power rippling through the cosmos." I said
"Of course but The Ring always has asteroids crashing into one another so I thought it was that." She replied
"That is why I fled, he is on Gaia, the Five High Lords were defeated in battle, Gaia has been conquered by the Red Devil, Queen Reina saw the Red Devil among with the Dark Riders. They wanted The Golden Journal, I have written somethings they don't want out." I said
Both of us silent, her realizing how dire this topic was. The Red Devil has been released from its chains, the Red Devil has been set free, someone set him loose, someone let It out. Someone wanted something from It, and that something is on Gaia.
