Chapter 21: DENZEL HAS BEEN ABDUCTED
It's been two days and Phyllis had still not heard from Denzel which made her worried and restless and that affected her blood pressure badly that she was admitted to a hospital in Dubai for three days until she was stabilized. She asked Amelia to take her back home so that she would know what was wrong with Denzel. She was worried not because she felt something had happened to him but because she thought he was cheating on her.
Amelia left her phone with Phyllis while she went to the doctor's office to get a feedback on her friend's condition. While she was there, her phone kept ringing so Phyllis had to pick it and it was Amelia's dad. He was so desperate that he didn't notice it wasn't Amelia who had picked the phone. He told her that Denzel had still not been found and they suspected it to be a kidnapping. He even doubted that he was alive since nobody had made a demand for a ransom and they also hadn't heard from him. Phyllis started crying uncontrollably before Amelia's father realised he's made a mistake so he tried to calm her down in his confused state before he hanged up.
Amelia came to find Phyllis crying uncontrollably and was worried that something had happened to her baby until she got closer to her. Phyllis started hitting her while she was still crying and started asking her why she kept Denzel's disappearance from her and why she never mentioned to her that his life was in danger because they were following up on her attempted murder case. Amelia apologised to her and promised that her father is ready to use all his resources to find him.
She was discharged the day after so they went back to their suite and Amelia requested the receptionist to book a plane and buy tickets for them to fly back to their country. When they arrived in their country, Amelia took Phyllis to their house and asked their house help to take all their bags to her room since they would be sharing her room together. Phyllis washed down and lied down to take a nap since she was tired from the flight. As she lied down, she remembered Denzel installed a GPS tracker on their phones so that they would know each others whereabouts anytime the need arises so she went to the GPS tracker App but his phone couldn't be tracked since it was off. She was getting restless when she remembered she could track him through his bluetooth watch and it worked. The GPS address they got was for an abandoned warehouse of Richards International that only a few people including Phyllis' father knew it existed.
Amelia quickly informed her dad who informed the head of his security to go with a few of his men to search for Denzel at the abandoned warehouse. They rushed there with urgency and found him hanged with blood oozing from his mouth and other body parts. They rushed him to the hospital since he was still breathing and called Amelia's father who also reported it to the police. They all rushed to the hospital with the exception of Phyllis because she was asleep and they also didn't want her to see Denzel in the condition the head of security told them they found him.
The doctors were operating on him since he had a few broken ribs and bones so they had to wait for hours before they could see him but even then, the doctor allowed no one to talk to him because he was in bad shape and he was traumatised from the ordeal he had been through since he was abducted. Amelia's father requested for police protection for him and told the hospital to not allow anyone to visit him apart from his daughter, Phyllis and himself and the hospital agreed to that. As soon as they left the hospital, they went home and Amelia went straight to see Phyllis in her room but she was still asleep. The doctor added a sedative to her medication because she needed rest.
She woke up later in the evening and Amelia asked a maid to serve Phyllis in her room because she needed to eat for her baby's sake. She was hesitant to eat but Amelia's mother convinced her to eat as she fed her. They took her for a walk in their garden as they talked extensively on what she discovered on the day of her accident and she told them everything. Amelia's mother was worried about why she had not spoken to anyone about it but Phyllis told her she wanted to gather substantial evidence before she told anyone about it. Amelia's mother hugged her tightly as she broke down into tears. They calmed her down and they told her they had found Denzel who had been admitted at the hospital for treatment since he was in bad shape. She begged to be taken to see him but they promised to take her to see him early in the morning the next day.
Early the next morning, they took Phyllis to see Denzel at the hospital. She was really happy to see him alive but when she got closer to him, he burst into an uncontrollable tears so she had to be held by Amelia and be calmed for sometime before she could control her emotions. Phyllis was so sad because Denzel couldn't move nor talk though he could hear and see them. She told him how much she missed him, showed pictures of her trip and pictures of them together to him as he quietly lied down. Denzel smiled but Phyllis saw tears rolling from his eyes. The doctor allowed her to sleep close to him for sometime since she was pregnant before he asked them to go home.
Amelia's father went to the police station for a feedback on Denzel's attack but the police hadn't found anything meaningful to their investigations so he promised to donate a huge amount of money to the police department if they're able to solve the case. He tightened the security in his house because of Amelia and Phyllis. Phyllis gave all the reports she had gathered on the illegal activities going on in Richards International. The Richards were dumbfounded about her findings and Mr. Richards vowed to find the perpetrators. They took good care of Amelia and paid a midwife to be taking care of her in their house while they continued to visit Denzel for a while before the doctor discharged him. They brought him to their house as well and hired a nurse for him too since he had not fully recovered. Amelia's family was good to them and took very good care of them while they were still investigating the case.
The police came to the house to question Denzel concerning his abduction when he was responding to treatment.
