Chapter 117: emptiness

When she learned where the call was coming from, she immediately bolted up straight from bed making the man sleeping next to her to be woken up as well.

Apparently, the call was from her contact at the police station who was just about to come off his shift when a new discovery was radioed in.

A few minutes after that, Abby was already on another call talking to her cameraman, Gaston, who apparently had been roused from his good sleep as well by his young wife who heard the phone ringing incessantly.

John suspected that he was sedated beforehand.

He could hardly even move a single finger let alone speak.

All that he could do was to mumble a few incoherent mutterings here and there which was not making any sense either when one would put it together.

"Anyway, it is too late now," he heard the other party as it whispered next to his ear.
