Chapter 3: Chapter Three
( Sarah's {Naomi's mom} POV)
"I expect you will tell me what she is doing here, two weeks before you will officially be married to a sensible, smart woman, not a stupid tramp." Sarah had to bite back her tongue because when speaking to a queen, you speak when you are spoken to, not when you want to. That and she already is in deep shit so she doesn't want to make it worse.
"Mom-" Ricky started, being rudely interrupted by Helen, his mother.
"I prefer to be called 'mother' when in front of guests, but she isn't one. Proceed."
"Mom, you know that I don't love that woman-"
"Lady."
"Whatever. I don't love her and marriage is about love-"
"No, it is about social status. I would never let my son be unhappy-"
"But I don't want to-"
"It is not about what you want. Your father may allow it, but not me," Helen snapped.
"I know that. I just love Sarah and not Megan. Megan is the actual tramp-"
"Do not speak that way about your future wife, Richton James Smith!" Helen yelled causing all of the servants in the hallway to dash away in fear she will hit them once she left. "I have never heard you speak to me this way and I think this Sarah figure here is the cause of it. I will ban her from this kingdom and make sure she can never step foot here if you don't get rid of her."
"But mom-"
"NO BUTS!" she yelled, turning sharply on her heel and taking brisk strides off to her room and slamming the door behind her, causing the guards to scatter like cockroaches. Many had learned the hard way that once the queen was angry, she hurts everything and everybody in sight.
"Why didn't you say anything?"
"Because no matter what I said, she still would have found some sort of way to be right. Am I wrong?"
"No, you're not, but you could have at least inputted something. Something is better than nothing!"
"Even any good points I could have made, she would have felt threatened and had me beheaded in front of you."
"But you have done nothing wrong-"
"It is just like that on earth. I hear so many times that African Americans -mainly men- are being killed for asking questions and going to pull out non-weaponry items. They are being shot because they have done nothing wrong. Do you think people on Earth care? Absolutely not!" Sarah lectured.
"Why don't people do anything?"
"Because people say it is what it is and move on. It was like that for so long people are used to it. No one cared when my father was shot just for trying to protect my little sister from these police officers that were trying to rape her. She was a bit of an early bloomer and looked kind of like a short 18-year-old woman. She made it out alive, but my father didn't."
"Well, can someone do something?"
"No."
"Well, come with me. We will try to convince my dad that mom is being hot-headed again and that we will be getting eloped."
"Eloped?"
"Yeah. I still never wanted to marry that whore-of-a-woman and I think this might make my mother realize that she can't control me and my love life." He had this glint in his eye that made me first walk up to him when we met.
...
Several months later..
Outrage bloomed throughout the palace like a rose, causing every bird and animal to scatter.
"You're telling me this now?!" Megan growled, speaking to her messenger, causing him to cower as if she raised her hand up at him. "Why wasn't I told earlier? I WILL CHOP HER HEAD OFF!" she yelled.
Megan was told that a few months earlier, her beloved fiancé had married that Sarah woman and they moved to her world. Now she had been told they were going to have a baby girl. Megan then knew exactly what to do. Tell Helen.
